Jim,part of what makes your videos so good is that you show your struggles along with your successes.
Thank you very much!
Jim, your tenacity and patience are amazing! Your struggles with breaking this piece up, smashing your knuckle, and spilling marbles all over the floor...man, you EARN your subscribers and we are here for it! Beautiful work as always!
Wow, thank you!
Well, Jim, you finally lost your marbles, lol. The piece is amazing and beautiful. It looks like sunshine through Amethyst. I love it. Congrats on 115K
Thank you very much! I really appreciate it!
I about fell out of my chair laughing when you picked it up and started throwing it on the floor. It’s something I would do too. 😂🤣😂
lol. Thank you very much!
Mighty Thor swings his hammer! I was sure that you were just moments away from using a jackhammer on that casting! I knew there was going to be trouble when it came so easily out of the mold. That ain't normal! And then Jim loses his marbles!! It was such a fun video. Thank you, Jim, for bearing all of that for our entertainment and education. And those new buckets saying "Impact Resistant." We'll see!!!!
Yes we will, hahaha. Thanks
Congratulations Diane! You are getting a spectacular piece of art! Jim is a master craftsman!
Thank you very much!
Another stunner! Can't believe how hard it was to chip that expoxy, that stuff is unreal. Congrats on passing 115K, so well deserved 😊
It is very hard. Thanks so much!
AMAZING! Love that the “earth” is the largest and that the other planets and moons are varied in colors. Inside, unless I was not seeing wrong, is a solar eclipse; very appropriate! There were also views of dark sides of planets. Also, thanks for the view of the outdoors during the eclipse. In Florida we saw just 1/4 of the moon cover one side of the sun. I can imagine what people in history thought. I watched a video on KZhead where a few pedestrians were asked to explain what an eclipse was. The insight shared tells me that a lot of people were not paying attention in school.
Thanks so much!
Hearing what brought you to wood turning is exactly what brought me to crochet and resin and all my million hobbies. Love this piece!
Thank you very much!
Oh my goodness! From losing your marbles to sacrificing your fingers... You put your all into your pieces! Beautiful works!!
Thank you so much!
Stunning as usual. You know I was thinking, if everyone of your projects went perfectly it wouldn’t be near as much fun watching you. I love watching your brain work. Not so crazy about the blood. I love your channel.
And his sense of humor when things do go wrong is too funny and endearing!!
Thank you very much!
I ended up spitting out my coffee watching you hammer away on that blank. The struggle is real. Beautiful hard earned piece. Sorry about your thumb
Ha ha! Sorry about that! You are right! The struggle is real! Thanks so much! 😂
My son is a wood turner and he does it to release the stress of his job and he really enjoys it. This bowl is beautiful and am very pleased at your success in your number of subscribers, though you earned them. I enjoy watching your videos each week.
That is awesome! Thank you very much!
Congratulations to the winners. It was really cool my name was picked as a possible winner. You worked really hard for this one Jim. It's beautiful, as always!
Thank you very much! You were close!
Your work is just beautiful!
That is a beautiful covered bowl. How do I get in on the drawing.
That's cool, sorry you didn't win this beauty!! Next time!
@@SpragueWoodturningnext one to win, plz do hypershift!! That way maybe the universe will let me win!!! 😂😂😂 This one is too cool! The wood is gorgeous, the design is perfect and that gold really gives it that something extra!! I hope the winner loves it as much as I. Great job... As usual!!
Jim, if Designer Epoxy doesnt use the clips of you trying to break this in advertising and give you a royalty.... they are missing out a HUGE opportunity 😂 I love this! I am such a gold fan, it's really the best color to fill cracks! Another beautiful, crafted work of art!
Thanks so much!
Beautiful looking lidded bowl. That was a lot of work to get this one to break apart. But in the end you won, and it turned out amazing. Congrats on 115K subscribers. Thanks for sharing and take care Jim.
Thank you! Cheers!
Jim, you never disappoint. Your pieces are simply breathtakingly beautiful pieces of art. Thank you for sharing your talent with us every week!!!
Thank you very much!
You really worked for your art this week, Jim! It was so worth it, though. The piece is gorgeous 😊
Thank you so much!
You can't say that you didn't get exercise today. You got a really good arm workout! lol I applaud you for recycling like you do. :) Congrats on the 116K subscribers!
Thank you very much!
The struggle to break up the casting to achieve an effect is remarkable! I wouldn’t have thought it would be so difficult to break. Designer Epoxy
Me either! 🤣 Thanks very much!
Congratulations on 115k, Jim! Another lovely piece, love the colors and the contrast with the burl!
Thank you very much!
Awesome bowl and lid. I sometimes see animal shapes in the timbers grain and in the bowl one of the pieces I see the face of an elephant. Surprise, surprise, surprise. Lol😂 thank you from Australia. Cheers Stephen Hutchins.
Thanks so much!
The hammer cracks with the gold definitely reminds me of gold veins through quartz, too!
For sure, thanks!
It's Beautiful Jim, it's always fun to watch someone lose their marbles!! 😂😂
I lost them long ago, lol. Thank you very much!
@@SpragueWoodturning 😂🤣
At this point, Designer Epoxy is going to have to come up with a specific kintsugi epoxy because Art Cast is just too much of a tank. 😂 Awesome piece, as always!
Well said! Thank you very much!
There's got to be some part of that breaking footage that Designer Epoxy could use in an ad for how hard the stuff is.... 😁 Another beautiful piece.
So true! Thanks
Another master turning with Designer Epoxy and all your other suppliers, well done Jim!
Thank you! Cheers!
Purple is my favorite color. So anything you make that's purple, I will love
Thanks so much! I’m sure there will be more!
You have a lot more patience and grit than others most would have called it quits after smacking their hand and losing their marbles, but the end product is defiantly worth it, my hat is off to you.
Thanks, I’m just too stubborn to quit, lol.
Sounds Like my dad@@SpragueWoodturning
When I saw the thumbnail I thought: Wait, didn't we have this already? Beautiful piece as always. Amethyst has always been my favorite (together with emerald). I once had a ball-gown in emerald with a big amethyst bow - and matching jewelry. That's the 80ies for you.
Thank you very much!
Jim: the lid looks like one of those river pours. All wavey and sparkly. I like the colours. Lots of effort to break the piece up which says how good the epoxy is. Imagine taking a finished product and throwing it on the floor. It would stand up. Another lucky winner gets to see how their prize was made. A win win situation. Take care and stay safe. PS: nice mild weather now.
Been a few finished projects hit the floor in the shop, lol. Thank you very much!
The price on that bowl is a great price for what you get, another beautiful bowl, built by the master.
Thank you very much!
Beautiful. Love the purple. Hope your knuckle is doing OK. You need grandkids around to pick those marbles up. They'll do it for fun. :-)
Great idea!! Thanks
Absolutely beautiful!! I don't think I have seen anything you make that isn't beautiful.
Thank you very much.
I’m watching you at 2x playback speed and it’s really funny how you are attacking your project, 😂 it’s like any minute you are going to jump up and down on it, 😂 now it’s on the floor 😂❤
Yup, hammer time! Thanks
Great use of left over pieces of wood Jim. Everything truly came together beautifully with the designer epoxy resin and the wood leftovers. Congratulations to all winners.
Thank you very much!
That beauty certainly helped you get your workout for that day. 😂 Once again, a stunning piece! The kintsugi turned out beautifully.
Yes! Thank you!
I love watching you make things and talking about what you are doing.
Thanks so much!
That thing turned out amazing! It had you on the ropes in round 2, but you managed to pull off a win in the end. The guys at designer epoxy should be proud that their product doesn't thermal crack, even though you really tried to make it do it.
Thank you very much!
I love this dish and for some reason even with repetitions I am here happily watching every week. I think you just make it interesting to watch and listen.
Thanks so much!
You can never go wrong with purple and gold. This turned out gorgeous! Congrats on all of your subscribers, I love, love love watching your videos! The more people who join the smaller my chances of ever winning a piece, but I am delighted that you are gaining so much support for your channel and wouldn't have it any other way. I tell my friends about how much I like watching them! Thank you for sharing your talents with us every week and best of luck with selling the house.
Wow! Thanks you so very much! Remember, only the people who comment are in the draw, so you never know!
Spindle Moulder is by far the most dangerous! Known as one of the most dangerous in any industry. Got told that at the start of my apprenticeship. Great work
I can see that. Thanks
This bowl came out so beautifully! I love the lid holder, it looks like a little yellow gem on top. And the purple with the sparkles looks like a galaxy!
Thank you very much!
You really worked hard to get the piece started. You even lost your marbles! 🤣 I’m not a winner again, but I’ll keep watching. I look forward to every Friday. 🥰
Thank you very much!
Band saws and shapers are normally the largest producers of blood on the floor. Band saws are very quiet and people assume they are harmless. Love your stuff and channel btw.
Thank you very much!
Beautiful work! Oh brother, when you bumped your thumb. My heart went out to you cause I’ve done that before. It’s a whole level of pain kind of like stepping on a Lego 😂
Lego is worse, haha. Thanks
Hi Jim this video was amazing to watching and listen to, I like the fact that you never gave in getting the thermal cracks. You really put alot of time and energy into turning this Lidded dish. The resin colours are lovely and the finished lidded dish is magnificent and unique well turned. Great video. Amanda xx
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks very much!
WOW! The colour changes completely with different lightings! Gorgeous! :D
Thank you very much!
Jim, next time you want to crack and break the casting, why not try the tracker bucket 😂 might be easier. The veins of purple coming through remind me of looking at a piece of Amethyst crystal. Love it.
Don’t give me any ideas, lol. Thanks
Wow, another outstanding piece. Excellent work. Thank you sharing your art with all of us.
My pleasure!
Congrats on passing 115K. As others have said, I like that you the struggles and don't show everything perfect through the magic of editing. Also, if you change to every 10k subs, that;s great too.
Thank you so much!
In addition to loosing one's marbles AND cracking knuckles instead of resin, you managed a healthy workout as well as another stunning piece of art. Keep up the good work and good luck with the property sale.
Thank you very much! 🤣
What a struggle with the piece. Looks AWESOME. Congratulations to the winners. Grats on 115k subscribers.
Thanks 👍
Amethyst and opal are two of my favorite gemstones and I think that this came out beautifully. The gold does go well with it. I think the word you were looking for may have been marbling. Congrats to the winners, am sure they will enjoy it.
Thank you very much!
This turned out beautiful. Terrific colours. Like the lid idea as well. You were expecting thermal cracking and when that didn't happen, it was amazing you would create your own and had to work so hard to force the issue.
Yes! Thank you!
The pattern on the top of the cast when you bring it out of the bucket is AMAZING! I had to put that in before I even get to the rest of the project. What a cool thing to get to watch the process.
Thank you very much!
It's very cool to watch you flex your creativity through cracking and kintsugi. I'm excited to see future what pieces come from this!
Thank you very much!
Another beautiful piece, always love purple and gold. I particularly loved the way the opalescent sparkle worked with the burl. It really gives space nebula vibes, especially looking down into the dish.
Thank you so much!
Each of your videos is a journey, in addition to a earning experience. Thank you for bringing us along.
My pleasure! Glad you like them!
Beautiful bowl and lid! I love the look of the maple wood with the purple epoxy as contrast. The epoxy gives me strong deep-space vibes 😊
Thank you very much!
The wood in this piece is so beautiful! And I love the sparkle look in the resin! Awesome work!
Thank you very much!
Congratulations for another subscriber milestone! If ever that epoxy brand needed a durability advertisement they could use this video lol.
Great point! Thank you very much!
Oh my😂😂😂😂, when one of the comments mentioned you finally lost your marbles, I rolled with laughter. I'm glad you were not seriously hurt. What a lovely piece.
You and me both! Lol. Thanks
A beautiful lidded bowl! And the struggle is real, and counts for cardio? Had a good laugh watching you beat the blank into submission. Congrats on 115K, well done.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks
Even though you didn't get the cracking you wanted, or the fill you wanted with the kintsugi, it's still an amazing dish!
That's true! Thanks
Omg so beautiful love the colors and beautiful wood showing threw Love that you choose it to be a jar with a lid.
Thanks so much 😊
Morning y'all it's a balmy 30 below zero with a windchill of -56 below at the top if the world today here at work!!
It's a beautifully sunny 9°C here
Yikes! 52*F here in Ohio.
Your so lucky, hahaha. Thanks
@@SpragueWoodturning It's been a CRAZY winter! We were in Maine the week before Christmas and expected feet of snow. We had 5+" of rain while we had snow back home in Ohio. The kids just wanted a snowy Christmas! 🤷♀We got home to Ohio and the snow was gone! Happy me, sad kids!
So hard to pick a favorite moment: the epoxy fight, the marbles, the epoxy colors as they flow over the wood in the bucket... Beautiful end result, though. And Designer Epoxy must love your experiments to see how far their various types of epoxy can be pushed.
Thank you! Cheers!
Absolutely superb! This piece has a kind of other-wordly shine. Every week I'd say "This is the best piece you've ever done!" And every week you prove me wrong. But I don't mind it in the least.... Thanks for creating and sharing such beauty!
Thank you so much 😃
It says this video was posted 13 hours ago, how did I go 13 hours without seeing this!! I'm so excited
Do you have your bell notification on? Thanks
Thank you again for the best performance with a hammer yet - I laughed to tears. The lidded dish is a show stopper - I love the purple with dashes of gold - stunning.
Glad you enjoyed it! 😂
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks!
Man Jim - the trouble u went threw to break that blank was crazy! Overall though it was definitely worth it. Beautiful bowl!! And that lid came out amazing. Well done as always. Congrats to the winners and to u for reaching 115k. Thx and take care. Designer epoxy
Thanks so much! Much appreciated!
Watch next time you don't want to have thermal cracks, it's gonna crack like a bowl dropped off a skyscraper :P very beautiful work
Very true! Lol. Thanks
Stunning as usual. You know I was thinking if everything went right when you were working on a project. It wouldn’t be near as much fun watching you figure out how to fix it. Keep up the great work I really love your channel.
I couldn't agree more with you. And his sense of humor when things goes wrong just giggles my funny bone!
Thank you very much!
Here's a small suggestion for you. When you are needing to break apart the casting where the thermal cracks are located, consider the benefits of using a hydraulic press. This concept is going to be the same as like using a log splitter to separate things in a certain way. This will also help to save your knuckles from that big bad sledge hammer. If you don't have a shop press, go with the greater capacity of a 20 ton. It will be better having more power when you need it rather than having less power but needing more. Keep up the good work. 👍🏼
When we move to the new place it’s on the list of things to get. Thanks
This is one of my absolute favorite pieces of all time I wish I had been around for the drawing because I just absolutely adore it. I'm not a woodturner myself I'm disabled and have some difficulties with strengths etc but I have always wanted to learn how to turn wood and I just find it incredibly satisfying to watch something come from nothing. You did a spectacular job on this piece and you should be really really proud of it.
Thanks so much!
Congratulations! Love your videos so much! Look forward to them every week! Purple and gold are a favorite with me - my high school colors. See you next week! Designer Epoxy.
Thank you so much!!
That's one way to advertise - "I deliberately misused the product and it still refused to fail!" 😁 I'm glad you didn't use the belt sander to widen the fractures, because that softens up the edges and I like the more jagged appearance, even if the gold didn't show up quite as much as you hoped.
Thank you very much!
This is a really nice covered dish, the spectacular wood grain, the resin iridescent, and the finish make this another beautiful piece. Congrats to the winners.
Thank you very much!
This is my wife most favorite video. She loves purple & gold ,beautiful beautiful lidded bowl.
Wow, thank you!
So beautiful, Jim. I am constantly surprised at the way you push the resin way past what it is supposed to do and then still have to break it to achieve the desired result. I absolutely love the effect of the kintsugi method. Thank you for the wonderful content every week.😮😊❤
You are very welcome!
I know that you went through a lot of effort to break it up, and I think it’s worth it. When you use a saw it ends up with harsh straight lines instead of more natural looking cracks. Good job ❤
Agreed, thanks!
Congrats on winning the struggle. Loved the hammer time! Great colours too. This is one of my favourite pieces, I love purple!
Thank you so much!
Another great one Jim!! I do like the purple and gold. Royal colors they are!! Thanks as always.
Glad you like them! Thanks!
In its just-cast form it would've been great in a Rage Room, and you could've charged people to come a break it as stress relief 😅 I adore the lidded bowls, and this colour combination is always a winner 💜
Good idea, lol. Thank you very much!
What an effort! That Designer Epoxy is some amazing stuff. You probably have already considered this, but maybe a little heater would encourage the thermal cracking. Congratulations to the winners!
Heat wasn’t the issue here. It was 75F in my clean room. Thanks
OMG! This is by far my most favorite piece Jim! Purple is my most favorite color!
Thank you very much!
I’m glad I can give my support to you by making a comment. Great work.
I appreciate that, thanks!
Jim another fantastic piece it turned out beautiful, the lid especially as it has quit a bit of the gold showing through it. great job well done.
Thank you so much 😀
Loved this one. The "Break Apart Show" was truly an amazing spectacle to behold. But it was worth it as this is an absolute beauty. Congrats to the winner!
Thanks so much!
Another great piece. I laughed out loud when you couldn’t break the resin pour. I’m glad it finally gave in and busted into thirds. Looking forward to next week.
Thanks so much! 😂😂
I absolutely love these kintsugi pieces, beautiful as always Jim! Hopefully one of these days the epoxy will cooperate 😂
I hope so! Thanks so much!
I totally forgot to comment on this last week. I total dig this piece. It looks like the sibling to the last covered dish
Thanks!
Good morning Jim, no workout needed after this piece, lol. For the piece not having it thermal cracking, maybe it's too cool where your piece is curing? Never the less your always figuring out ways around it, and your pieces are absolutely fantastic. The content of your videos is very educational. Thanks for it all. I am looking forward to the next video. Absolutely awesome piece. I love the way the nob turned out. 👍 👍 keep on turning!!!
No, it was 75F in my clean room. Thank you very much!
As usual beautiful work ! But to break the unbreakable you need my 5 year old granddaughter. Nothing is safe. But thank you for sharing your talents with us.
Ha ha! You got that right! May have to call her for the next one! 😂😂 Thanks!
A beautiful bowl with a lid. Congratulations Diane You have got your self a lovely item. Strange I watched this on TV first. The TV KZhead, the first 12 minutes were missing, Started just before you turned the air blue.😊😊😊😊 Which us why I watched the start from the laptop. I wondered what had happened that you were smashing one of your forms.
Oh, that is strange! Thanks for watching!
Very nice lidded pot. It turned out awesome. Congratulations on 115k subs and Congratulations to the winners. Have a wonderful and blessed weekend and week. Until the next one be safe and blessed
Thank you! You too!
Beautiful bowl again Jim, congratulations to the winners, the kintsugi looks stunning. I absolutely love that you show the battle to break the casting, this shows just how strong epoxy actually is. The spalting in the wood in this piece looks amazing, I would be gazing at this bowl and lid for hours and see multiple different images hiding within, it is truly stunning. Well done Jim thank you for sharing. ❤
Thank you very much!
This video was so entertaining, loved the commentary while cracking the resin, that was hilarious! sorry you lost your marbles haha. Keep up the amazing work Jim!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks so much! 😂
OMG. That is gorgeous. My favorite color, Purple.
Thank you very much!
