While guiding in the Kruger National Park, me and my guests came across this breeding herd of elephants who were about to cross the road and we decided to stop and watch them cross. That's when this little one appeared from the long grass and had us entertained for a while. He clearly was frustrated with his trunk if you look at the way he was shaking it, blowing air through it and trying to step on it. The reason he is doing this is not known but it could be that there might have been something in his trunk that made it itch or maybe he just didn't understand this long thing on his face... either way it was very funny and made our day...
this video is hysterical. the poor little guy is trying desperately to control his trunk, but hasn't quite got the hang of it yet.
I thought the first one was the baby than this little guy shows up. 😂
That baby is adorable with his/her trunk going haywire 😂😂
Its relative to scale, and apears faster but the right spead for its size.
Like he’s trying to get it off his face 😂
The front foot goes up a few times,, I was thinking it was going to step on it to hold it down! I've heard they can be out of control for the 1st few months, that's the most drastic I've ever observed it. It was adorable! 🐘😻😻
That was too dang cute. Almost like a human baby noticing their hands for the first time. So funny.
The adjustment period is taking awhile, lol.🐘🤍
He's like "how do you turn off this thing?".
Hahaha. LOVE IT!!!

lol
He's flinging it around like "GAAAAHHH GET IT OFF!!!" 😂
right ! He even tried to step on it..lol
Looks like it's got an itch it can't scratch.
How funny! Your comment made me laugh so much I have tears in my eyes! LOL! "Get it off"!
"HOW DO YOU USE THIS DAMN THING?!?!?!"

That baby elephant is learning how to use their trunk and control it correctly
i love how caring Elephants are to each other.
The elephants trunk: ⬆️⬇️↖️↕️↙️⬅️↘️↗️➡️⬆️↖️⤴️↖️⬅️⬆️↗️↕️
😂😂😂😂😂
Elephants have over 40,000 muscles in their trunks and it can take up to a year, sometimes more, before a baby elephant learns to coordinate them to be able to use its trunk properly, that's what the baby is trying to do. Until they manage to do this they will just use their mouths to get fluids, rather than using their trunks to suck it up and blow it into their mouths.
Thank you informing these people, who speak without bothering to learn.
Rosie StLam or he's just got an itch ...
Ty...thought she may have got a bee lodged in there😉✌
Thank you Rosie StLam! 💜
Now that's interesting! 😀
My babies did the same thing when they first found there feet and hands. So cute.

It's "their" not there.

Your kids dragged their nose across the ground? Interesting....
Not only the baby...in fact the whole herd seemed confused with the long thing on their faces !!!!! The older baby was also so cute💖
I wonder if they've all come in contact with something which is irritating? Someone sprayed something? an ant nest?
Newborn elephants don't have complete control of their trunk until they're a bit older
Is that true? I thought the baby is playing with his trunk just like how dogs play with their tails haha.
Yea even then males still don't know how to use it or control it....oh I'm sorry were you referring to elephants? Haha

Vasanthi Basically, it’s like when newborn babies don’t have complete control of their limbs.
God is good. He has blessed us with a great garden filled with wonderful animals. Wow!
I am obsessed with elephants I have elephant pictures all over my room
I dont have a lot of pics but I am obsessed with them washing videos and want to learn more about them❤ 🥰❤🐘🥰🐘❤🥰
They’re meant to bring good luck. Basically everything about them is brings awesome things.🤗

That's totally normal and not weird or creepy at all.... You are perfectly normal guy and that doesn't sound creepy at all.
Well that's kinda scary

It's like he wants to play with it, like a cat chasing it's own tail! Adorable!
that baby elephant is just too cute!! love his ears too.
I mean honestly! You CANNOT BE ANY CUTER! I love Elles so much! Acts like he has a tickle way up in its trunk! Thank you for this, I needed this after a long tough day! I can breathe and smile at this!
Look like 4 generations standing next to each other
I was thinking that exact thing - we come in four sizes!
Yep, but there are 5

Very rare these days
just moms and their babies
I also equally love the interaction between the baby's slightly bigger brother who goes to rest in the middle of the road but big sister or cousin says.."oh ohhhh..no you don't!" ...and he stands up straight then he goes to try it again then momma (either his or his aunt) turns around and comes back and for sure makes sure he gets the message "not to sit down in the middle of the road especially in front of humans!" What "fantastical "interactions just like humans. Wonderful creatures!!
the bigger baby I think when it laid on his trunk they do that when something is up there that shouldn't be. the baby baby > I always think of The Marvelous Toy song of Peter Paul and Mary when I see the babies see their trunks for the first time and what to do with it. "and whirl when it stood still" enjoy.
@@tommas2674 I travel through a game reserve once a month because my parents live just outside one in South Africa, and sometimes the elephants come onto the road and just chill for hours and we all just know to sit back and chill until they decide they've shown off enough, and a few years ago there was an ellie baby who was sucking on her trunk like a thumb and she started playing hide and seek with the people in the cars, behind mama ellie and it is still the sweetest thing I've ever witnessed
I LIKE HOW THE big mother goes "looks at the people and thanks for waiting until we cross".
@@Xara_K1😂❤ Those sound like holy hours at the church of Elephant. 🦋🐘💙
Mommy, is like "don't mess with my babies ". They are so wonderful, and I'm still laughing at the little guy trying to figure out how his trunk works, so cute. Big smile on my face.

I love the way he keeps trying to step on his nose as if that will make it come loose from his face!!
Something bothers it, it is clear that he is trying to get something out from his trunk, maybe something flew in and stung it or something got in and got stuck but it clearly looks bothered.

That is so sweet - and it looks like the older sibling/cousin tried to help out and show baby what to do to get rid of an itch :)
Aw. Look at the whole family. Ma, pa, brother, big sister and baby
This dang long thing!!! ❤️🐘❤️🐘❤️🐘❤️🐘 So adorable - a whole family, mama, papa, aunts, uncles & kids
There's NO ADULTS MALES IN the Family group. The juvenile get forced out at 2 years of age. It's just All females in the family.
How friendly they are! Protect each other.❤❤
Ellies are very protective of their family members
wow, the other elephants were showing him what to do with his truck. The one elephant got down in his knee and put his knee onto his truck to show him what to do. It’s amazing.❤❤
They are too beautiful to look at, I can't put it into words
How wonderful this video is, my goodness. Love it so much!

OMG - What amazing footage!!! And that little one had me laughing so hard. She was so adorable!!
THE TWO LARGEST ELEPHANTS WERE KEEPING AN EYE ON THE LARGER YOUNG ELEPHANT MAKING SURE IT BEHAVED PROPERLY TOWARDS THE BABY. Fascinating.
Yes, and the young elephants job was to keep the baby safe between them, protecting the baby with their own bodies from the dangerous untrustworthy onlookers...
Cute 🐘
They look like a family with Dad, Mom, Older sibling, and the Baby!
There is no dad , though. Adult male African elephants don't live in herds. The herd is composed only of females and juvenile of both sexes .
Yeah, it's more likely to be a grandmother than a dad.
i just love these majestic gentle giants, why would anyone want to kill these creatures
I agree they are majestic giants. It's obvious they are gentle and protective with their younger family members. They can be extremely 'un-gentle' in nature when they have to be! They certainly command respect. Btw- have you seen the clip of the safari who came across several HUGE and lots of smaller and baby elephants? The photographer was on/outside of the jeep, they surrounded him and were within inches of this poor/lucky guy. The matriarch decided to let them cautiously back up and away, but omg.. It was thrilling.
I think he has to sneeze He's so cute ❤ His trunk is kind of dragging him forward My favorite elephant vid for today
Laughing at the baby struggling with his trunk. Too funny!
Aggggg WHAT is this THING on my FACE! MOMMMEEEEEE! ............talk about a cuteness overload!

I love the way herd takes care of the others. . we can learn a lot animals ! 💖
At one point, Baby seems to almost try to step on that long thing to try to get it off its face! How cute!
it's a whole family!.. This is a treasure on earth and hope everyday, more humans figure this out.. These must stay in wild sanctuary.
These animals are truly amazing.
what a beautiful family, the baby should ask his mom about that trunk . . .
Baby elephant is the only 200 pond looks lovely and cute.
Extremely surprised that they let you get so close, with a baby in their herd!
A little too close. ...How could anyone kill such an animal?!
+Brad K Sadly I believe a lot of it is to do with $ :-(
+Saartje05 there's mostly a demand for a thing called Ivory
***** Oh duh, you think?
+TheChoujinVirus What's the worth ivory, isn't it just for display? What a useless luxury item, then again the rich just want to show how fancy and luxurious they are, they're willing to drive a species to extinction, f*ckng snobs!
I've to change my shorts!
Какие же слонятки прекрасные!!! Всякое творение Божие имеет свое очарование, свою красоту!!!...
Humans are a scourge to these beautiful creatures!

This has got to be one of the cuties herds I have seen yet!
He had a flower in his nose LOL
That is cuteness overload!!❤
Genial, habe es selbst in Kenia erlebt. Solche wunderschöne Erlebnisse bereichern mein Leben.
"what's this?!?!?" "get this off me!!!" "if I swing it hard enough it should flly off, perhaps I can fling it off!"
0:35 Bro has been to war, he's missing a tusk!
This elephant is a female and apparently the matriarch of this herd. Elephants are evolving to not have tusks due to civil wars in some African countries and poaching (some wars were financed by poaching). She may have only ever had the one tusk. www.google.com/amp/s/relay.nationalgeographic.com/proxy/distribution/public/amp/animals/2018/11/wildlife-watch-news-tuskless-elephants-behavior-change
@@belovedwoman3398 Deceitful agendas are suggesting that they are evolving to not grow tusks, but it's not true.
OMG that’s to funny 😂😂😂. The littlest one is like “What the hell is this hanging from my face? Hurry get it off of me” 😂😂😂 So needed a good laugh today
This is basically the equivalent of a little kid discovering their hands for the first time. Absolutely flawless.
At 2.28 he tries to wake up his brother....how cute ♥️♥️♥️ Elle babies are pure love ❤
So polite the huge giants salute ones and that too so humbly and obediently. I appreciate this attribute of them from my heart. Lord you r great you made these Beautiful Giants to teach us humans so many things of humanity. M grateful to You my Lord🙏
A lot to handle between the huge ears and nose🤗 What beautiful animals!
Divine! Too lovely!
What a great video. The baby is precious. I like how they all waited for Mom to cross the road before they headed on. Thank you for sharing.
so adorable. i hope there's not something actually wrong with the baby. it's interesting how we can see the cuteness in any species.
Its soo cute to see a babee elly moving his cute little trunk n playing with it !!!
What a cute baby. Just like a little human writing in school for the first time holding a pencil

Such majestic beings, then along comes silly baby😂😂🐘❤️
elephants is a picture of a responsible parenthood..they are really very caring showed by their action alone....mabuhay elephants....
Hah, hah, can't help laughing! That's so comical. Yes it's true they have to practice using the trunk. Also the walking was still a bit strange thing.
He looks so confused! Adorable!
The baby elephant was so cute how he bucked up the first time hiding behind the bush

I'm in happy tears. They are such lovely creatures. Good mothers with sweet babies. I would give anything to do this
"Mom! Mom! What IS this grey thing?? I don't like it! How do I get it off? I don't like it. Help!!"
It's so sad poachers kill them for the ivory. Wonder how the poachers would like having their teeth pulled and sold on eBay?! That would make them think twice before poaching these precious animals! Or any animal!
Poached eggs 🥚mmm! MMMM!

Someone should poach them too, remove all their teeth! Lol
The most amazing baby trunk play I’ve ever seen. Thank you so much for sharing. I’m saving this for a day when I need a smile. ❤
that is so beautiful and adorable God bless and protect them all
Well all babies have to learn how to use their appendages. I imagine a trunk is harder to use considering the prehensile and length aspects of it.
+MegaLegoKing1 yup pretty much the same thing as babies learning how to use their hands and legs lol
An elephant trunk has 40.000 muscles in them, plus it's on their face, like an arm-nose, so it's no wonder baby elephants struggle in learning to use them. xD

At about 2:20, the other young elephant goes down on its front legs and rubs its trunk on the ground. I wonder if maybe they both had something in their trunks. Hopefully nothing more serious than hay fever.
All of their behaviors are completely normal and healthy. There is nothing wrong.
+QZ Sue That's what I was thinking, too. They were acting like something was irritating their trunks. Maybe allergies? Insect bite?
Anne Haight These commenters don't know elephant behavior, especially of the young. They are playing, there is nothing wrong with them, nothing irritating them. Infant elephants have to learn to use their trunks, and for that, they mess with it. The older youngster was fine, and messing around exactly as that age group of elephant does. No hay fever, no insect in their trunk, just completely typical elephant behaviors for each age group.
I think the older elephants were trying to show the baby what to do! The bigger one sneezes and flicks its trunk, the smaller one gets on its knees.
"Infants have to learn to use their trunks, and for that, they play with it a lot." Sounds like every guy through puberty xD
The baby and the older young one is asserting their dominance trying to act tough, adorable
Love those magnificent ears!
