Hey, everyone. This is kind of a different video. Took me a while to write and rewrite and re-rewrite, and even after it was finished I debated with myself and my friends about whether or not I should make it public. There's still a lot I'd change about this, and a lot more I wish I had the time or ability to say the way I want. But Stan was always in a constant state of creation, making one thing and moving on to the next. I wanted to take a page from his playbook there and not leave this video shelved forever. The characters Stan co-created with all the other talented artists and writers over at Marvel have impacted my life more than anything, and I hope this video is a small step towards showing my deepest gratitude. Thanks, Stan.
Hey i love your vids
I don't know if you know about article 13 if not watch this video kzhead.info/sun/esaReNaib51tl58/bejne.html Maybe it is not to late to #SaveYourInternet
Amazing video as always. Thanks for letting us see it. But i really wanna hear how Mysterio changed your life lol

People like Stan still give me hope in this world, and even though he died, his characters are still a part of him, a part of him that will live on forever as long as marvel keeps going, and spiderman is the best example of what he represented, and I know I'll never lose the respect I have for him. Excelsior 🤘
Been waiting for this one, glad it’s finally here!

Kirby? Ditko?

My favorite Stan quote
It's a bittersweet fact that one of the last cameos that he could see was in something Spider-Man related. It is a sweet fact that he's with his best friend and partner again...And now I made myself sad.
And Into the Spider-Verse had one of the most poignant cameos from him... It eventually fits, indeed.
I really loved his cameo in the PS4 game. I like to see it in a meta sense, like it's Stan Lee saying Spider-Man and MJ are his favorite couple or something like that.
@@TheSefirosu200x he was a chef at a restaurant also in the ps4 game.
My god, Scott this is a beautiful tribute. I know how hard you worked on this video; it shows, and it's truly paid off.
It really gave me the feels.
I really loved the way you weaved your personal narrative in relation to stan in with your discussion of his writing. This video was definitely worth the wait man. One of your best.
Thanks for encouraging me to make this in the first place!
Mother's Basement I thought that was you doing all the voice work
Small correction at 10:41 - I accidentally said Robin Thicke when I meant Alan Thicke. I promise it was written correctly in the script, but I was an idiot and just said it wrong. My bad.
Maybe the paper you reading from had some "Blurred Lines". lol!
Trace Belcher I see what you did there
@@tracebelcher get out!!!
No problem. Even if you hadn't said anything I grew up watching Growing Pains. So I've heard of Alan Thicke before. I had no idea he had his own show though.
Robin Scherbatsky of "How I Met Your Mother" knew Alan Thicke. And, of course, Cobie Smulders made her way into the MCU after her role as Robin. So, somehow, according to some posthoc reasoning, "Robin Thicke" makes total sense as a mental slip.
I remember when I was 11 years old, I went to my first ever Comic-Con in New York with my family. I heard Stan Lee was going to be there at the time, and I thought, "This is my moment, this is where I'm going to meet him and tell him how grateful I am for the influence his creations have had on me!" Alas, all we saw was a sign saying Stan would be there to sign autographs the day BEFORE we went... We had just missed him. I was disappointed for sure, but I still held on to hope that one day, I would get to shake Stan's hand, get an autograph and picture with him, and say "Thank you, Stan, for everything". Unfortunately, that day will never come to pass now. Not meeting Stan Lee and tell him "thank you" will probably be one of my biggest regrets in life. But actions speak louder than words. Stan's passing still has not fully resonated with me yet, and I am just starting to realize how much I will miss him. But he has given me everything I need as an aspiring artist and creator. Each of us, whether we're an artist, a writer, a musician, or a scientist has the power to spread more positivity in the world and make it a better place, now it's our responsibility to use those talents in a way that will make Stan proud, and tell him, "Thank you, Stan, for everything". 'Nuff Said!
Stan Lee is one of the most wonderful nerds. We miss you.
He's still here in all the stories he wrote and lives he changed. RIP
Stan Lee was an incredible writer who changed and impacted so many people’s lives. He wrote my favorite character in literature and I know there are people who’s favorite character was a Stan character. That’s how good he was, and always will be. RIP Stan Lee and excelsior.
I uh... Wow... I sometimes don't know what to say when I deal with the passing of Stan Lee, my family and friends ask me "Hey, did you hear Stan Lee died?" And I could only respond with a nod and a faint, "Yeah." Because I couldn't fully grasp it for a long time myself, like you, Scott. But, when I watched this video... All of those emotions I've kept contained spilled out, and now I'm on the verge of tears in my college's cafeteria... Heh, I bewilder myself sometimes... Anyways, I wanted to just say something real quick with my connection to The Man. I am a comic writer and artist (Sunday comics right now, with a small story in a free anthology book), but I have plans to be a full on comic book writer, because of Stan Lee. I grew up reading Spider-Man, and I know he hasn't written something Spider-Man for a long time, but the character has been my favorite, and he was a coping mechanism for when I had a really tough time in my life where I didn't know if I could even trust my own family. I'm getting real personal, but the point is, Stan Lee's creations changed me, on a massive level, and I was like you, Scott, where I wanted to meet this legend, even with all of his faults. I, sadly, could not, but I always joked with my friends that, with the amount of characters I've created myself (I'm talking superheroes and villains) I mind as well be the next Stan Lee. And I wanted to tell him that... I wanted to tell him he changed me so much that I began doing what he did, and I wanted to let him know that the next round of heroes was on the next generation of writers. Now... I can't. But this video made me smile, laugh, cry and so much more, because it brought that fire in my chest back out and be willing to get back in the comic saddle. Not just in honor of Stan Lee, but in honor of what he built, because sometimes... The world just needs one more Stan Lee. Thanks, Scott. I needed this... Now, if you don't mind, I'm gonna go cry my eyes out as I write the next story with Stan Lee's spirit in my heart and soul. See ya.
Thank you for writing this. It means so much to read your story, and I know that you're on the path to being a fantastic comics writer! Go make the things that only you can make!
_Thank You Stan the Man, You made True Believers out of all of us._ *EXCELSIOR!*

Phenomenal video Scott, can't tell you how pretty cool it was That you were able to thank him in person.
Thanks, gang. I appreciate the kind words!
Hot damn...Scott you’ve been one of my favorite content creators for a while now but this video is on a whole other level. You not only explained how Stan Lee impacted media and yourself in an incredible way, but the emotions that you presented were so...I don’t even know how to describe it. You opened up in a way we don’t see a lot online. My father and I watched this together and we both welled up when you began describing how much you wanted to meet Stan Lee and we are so incredibly happy that you did. I’m not good at explaining things at all so I’m not sure how to even word my praises for you so I’ll leave it at this: This is easily the best video you’ve ever made. Excelsior Mr. Niswander, and here’s hoping you get to hug a monkey someday. :)
Ghost Ion Well said, son. Excelsior!
Thank you for this comment! It means the world to me!
Stan Lee was my all time hero, he was what american mythology was built upon he created all of my favourite characters and was a great man to the end, he was truly a hero to us all, what really hurt me most about this is that my all-time hero acctualy passed away on my birthday and this left me with me with a lot of time to reflect on how much he impacted my life, whenever November 12th is mentioned I will always remember not only my birthday but my all-time hero as well, Stan Lee
Stan is no longer just a man. He is now a legend. As long as people remember him, he is never truly gone
Stan Lee will forever be immortal, at least in my mind. I always saw him that way, and that's the way it'll always be, as part of him lives on through the characters he created.
Huh this alert came late, but Scott Excelsior.
I'm glad you took the time to watch it regardless! Thank you!
That was such a beautiful heartfelt video and I can think of a better way to remember Stan Lee. I grew up with the 90s marvel cartoons and they helped mould my perspective on life. They taught me to be inclusive of everyone despite their differences, in some cases they may be what gives them strength; to always do the right thing even if it is to your own detriment and to look out for the outcasts of which I always felt like one. I never had the exposure to the comics growing up but I keep meaning to read the classics of which I now own dozens of collected editions. Regardless of the medium though the message is still the same and is deeply woven into my identity. Thanks for such a moving video Scott
It still hurts. Rest in Peace Stan Lee. Thanks Stan Lee for creating marvel, nah being marvel
Wow, Scott. I'm crying, here. I've watched a lot of Stan Lee tributes and retrospectives since his passing, and this is the first one that's made me feel the loss of Stan as viscerally and emotionally as the day he passed. Great work, Mr. Niswander. Excelsior!
I came out of school ready to go home, then I checked my phone. My cousin had texted me an article. I opened it up, then the tears rolled 😭. Stan was dead 😭😭😭😭😭
I found out when I was watching some MCU movies with my friends
I found out through my friend texting me "How are you doing?" I knew something was up. I check twitter, and just felt my heart sink.
Same here 😔😔 he made our childhoods great I'm still in denial I'm still kind of depressed
Great job Scott! Really heart-felt and you can see the amount of work dedicated to it. Also, you yelling at 1960s Stan Lee to calm down was truly magical
That was so heartfelt and emotional. Thanks Scott! Keep up the great work! Love your channel!
As someone who’s been shaped by Stan Lee’s stories, writings and characters I never really felt sad for his death, he was everything to me but I didn’t care my eyes would full with tears but, never fall to my cheek my stomach would tighten but I just didn’t grief like I should that’s when I found out it wasn’t the man to remember Stan lee wasn’t Stan lee without marvel I was sad these stories were ending I don’t know why but celebrities are just humans to me. And as humans we forget we’re nothing without our accomplishments or fans Stan lee was a great man no doubt about that but, did you remember the man, or his creations?
This was by far the best memorial video for stan that I’ve seen. The best editing, writing, and I could tell that it came from a real place. This is the reason your my favorite KZheadr
I can not even begin to say how amazing this video came out. It has so much emotion and passion in this. By far your best work I've seen you do. Just amazing
Love the emotion in this video Scott. We all know Stan had his faults and we can talk about then again in the future but there is NO denying that he made a huge difference to the world...
Absolutely! He was human, just like the rest of us. But I believe he put more good into the world than harm, and that's all we can aim for.
Rest in peace stan Lee. Thank you for being the first true believer and inspiring others to read between the panels. #Excelsior

Best. NerSync. Video. Ever. I (like many others) grew up with Stan Lee and I cried for 3 days when I heard of his passing. I subscribed to NS over a year ago and I really enjoy the channel's content. Always thought-provoking & interesting but I've never commented before. Now with passing of Stan The Man and the obvious labor of love this was for NS? I HAD to. Gut-wrenchingly honest vid NS Team and befitting the passing of the comic book industry's most fertile creative mind and prominent voice. "THANK YOU, Stan!" just doesn't say what I'm feeling...Stan & his creations have been a part of my life since the 6th grade and now they're a part of my children's lives and they show no signs of going anywhere anytime soon. THANKS for posting Scott & the NS Team! VERY well done! God Bless you Stan, RIP. Your absence will be forever felt in my, the Marvel and every other universe... You will be SORELY missed.

Honestly speaking, about last year, my class was being given those motivational speeches, y'all know how they go, then they asked, "who is your role model?" People said their own like Bill Gates, Barack Obama, Martin Luther King heck even Drake, but when the teacher asked me, I legit says Stan the Man Lee and people wondered and asked who he was, (I live in Kenya so not many people knew him) I told them "you know the old guy who appears in Marvel movies?" And they shrugged saying no, some even began giggling in the corner and that pissed me off, so I said "The man who created spider Man, the X men, fantastic four and... My childhood!" And people started looking around asking themselves if it was true and sure even started clapping coz they finally recognized him and that made me happy, we even went to watch infinity war with a couple of those guys who got interested in comics coz of me and that... Makes me happy ! Rip Stan
That's a great story! Glad people saw how much he meant to you!
