The Difference between an engine and ladder company is the engine company puts water on the fire and the engine company does a primary search for victims while the ladder company on the other hand, does all the venting and conduct a search for victims as well. Usually the ladder company in this case runs into the burning building while everyone else is running out but here's a twist. The ladder company usually has no water between them and the fire.

I was surprised to see two command buggies, until I saw one of them going a different direction. When the boom truck left, I was further surprised to hear an electronic warble siren, which strangely, for awhile, became the norm, about when lime yellow was introduced (but didn't carch on). The biggest surprise was hearing that Federal Q scream from the med wagon. I still believe the mechanical scream is easier to hear, sounds farther, and has the benefit of vibrating soundproof car windows. Sorry for the editorial. Excellent, orderly turnout!

Did 42 drink too much antifreeze?
Engine 42 always is good and I watch a light and engine 98 because Chicago fire department is the best videos I ever watch and I watch him for my wife my whole life
Looks like a scene out Chicago Fire one of my favorite TV shows
That engine cheuff drives like my LT. and our Service truck's cheuff.
I come from watching the croatian firefighters jumping into their trucks mid-game and this IS UNDERWHELMING!
Holy, same!
monstruolio yeah dude,
Same

God bless you Chicago Fire department you guys always do great job 👍🙂
wow chicago FD is impressive! love from NYC!
2:15 I like the crown Vic with the federal vision lightbar, shame we didn’t get to see it respond... nice catch though. Keep up the good work. :)
Tyler Wallace i think it might be a reserve
Tyler Wallace it’s usually a spare for the more higher ranked Chiefs and they don’t respond much at all...
Watched this on my old youtube account, still on my fyp.

Amazing video! We should have more videos like this more often!Keep up the good work!U earned a subs
That station is 2 times the size of the downtown station where I live very cool
Oh, hey, it's the real Chicago Fire!
Engine 42 was like “LETS ROCK THE BOX”
This tradition dates back to the 1930s when Fire Commissioner Goodrich, whose family operated Goodrich Transit Company, adopted the port and starboard maritime light scheme for all apparatus and firehouses
Learned something new today! Thanks for sharing that bit of history! 🙂
I like how there's just a ton of fire trucks going
This guys are no joke. great video pic . i could not believe the speed or the urgency to get going
This is the best video recommendation youtube has ever given me
Idk what it is about Chicago but these fuckers take fires serious it seems. Out of all the video's i've watched, these guys have the fastest response times and come flying out the fire house. Awesome stuff.
the reason is because they don’t their city in flames again. so
He's right. we will never ever forget that as a community or allow it to happen again. Which it won't as the buildings have not been made primarily of wood since the greatnfire. But still. Its culturally ingrained in us.
Best responding call i ever seen before !! Great Video !!!
Watch croation firefighters
The Difference between an engine and ladder company is the engine company puts water on the fire and the engine company does a primary search for victims while the ladder company on the other hand, does all the venting and conduct a search for victims as well. Usually the ladder company in this case runs into the burning building while everyone else is running out but here's a twist. The ladder company usually has no water between them and the fire.
Thank you for showing this Response. Anytime Chicago has the Rescue go with there snorkel makes my day. That combo unit best thing a Chief Designed into a Department.
1:19 best siren ever
Yes still don’t know what type of siren that is
@@ryans4116 Q2B siren.
No Chicago fires siren is better
@@guitarxtian17 eq2b
Very beautiful vehicles, and a stunning response time.
It was North Wacker Drive (which is a major thoroughfare in Chicago) but yes, you're right, the ambulance was responding to a seperate call.
They are sending the Engine 1 and Ambulance 42 to an unknown call. The first dispatch before you hear the warble tone at 23 seconds is the start of a new dispatch. Hope this helps.
Let's Hear it for the First responders of the Chicago Fire Dept . brave men and women who put their lives on the line everyday !
My Uncle was the Deputy District Chief here until he retired (just before this was taken, I believe). Got to join him and the other firefighters for lunch once. Awesome guys!
"Show Me Your Firetruck" plays in my head whenever I watch a Chicago fire response.
Let's stop and honor and appreciate the paramedics and firemen deserve a lot of credit your service and time and efforts are deeply by Chicago fd responding keep them safe out there in the windy city of Chicago job well done you should be amazed and proud great catches as usual way to go ! Joe
Excellent response time and professionalism from the CFD! Though I'm not a fan of the EQ2B, it actually sounds pretty good on Ambulance 42, for some reason! Thank you for your service!
0:54 can it take off any faster 😂
Engine 42 was like: Fuck this I’m out.
@FmasterJG No in Chicago the normal fire station is an engine, truck, and an ambulance, however in downtown since it is so dense there are very few fire stations, which means that the stations must house many more vehicles than the normal station
Put in my app to be a volunteer for my fire dept while full time in college!
Excellent, orderly turnout!
loved the Q on the medic box
I've had the chance to tour that station, it's a pretty neat place.
LOVE the Q on the ambulance
Sou socorrista do SAMU 192 no Brasil, gostaria muito de conhecer as bases e as equipes dos paramédicos e dos bombeiros nos estado unidos, parabéns pra todos
Thank you to all our first responders, especially in a big city like Chicago. I can't imagine. Also, what was the emergency for this response, and what was the outcome?
The computer voice says "FIRE," without specifying the type, but judging by the types of apparatus dispatched, I'm sure it was a high-rise structure fire.
@@seikibrian8641 okay thanks.
@@seikibrian8641 fire call
@@brandonbaltzell2422 What?
Everything was done correctly. Battalion chief used his vehicle to block intersection so responding ladder truck could proceed with minimal stopping.
Engine 42: Sorry baby, I've got to work tonight. GF: But my parents aren't home Engine 42: 0:53
Good lord! That engine was yo fast!
0:52 When she says she's alone at home
@pkferrariman The snorkel is not the tower ladder, it is part of the two piece squad (squad1 and 1A). Tower ladder is responding from a different station.
I love the siren that truck 3 has same with the squad one
Dang!!! 42 was HAULING!!
Ultra Brick Studios truck 42:said her dad gone for the weekend
medic 42 is responding to a big fire for that call really fast.
Juan Muñoz Im pretty sure Ambulance 42 was responding to a separate call...
Nice big firehouse 🧑🚒🚒
I love this house! Too bad the spare snorkel isn't kept here anymore, but at least Squad 1 lives here now. This house was first due at a 4-11 alarm high rise fire last night at 171 W Oak.
0:51 "It's first due or nothin! Ain't nobody gonna be water supply!"
Classic
CFD knows their stuff that is for sure. Was up there last year visiting family and saw a CFD engineer (I think that is the rank for the driver) driving smooth as can be going to a call. He was handling that Pierce aerial like a sports car-never saw anyone drive a fire truck like that.
Gee never seen so many pumps going out to a call,in the UK its standard for two pumps per call and in some cases two pumps and one TTL.nice videolove the sirens
We have nearly 3 million residents with 5 million commuting in for work every day. Even a shed fire has the potential to very quickly spread out into multiple structures. We don't assume anything as a city. We send the big boys.
I saw engine 42 and ambulances 42 this year when I was at downtown Chicago Illinois with my sister and I’m from Ohio
I love the sound of American Police/Fire Cars
i wish we had a station like that. and trucks. we only have 4 trucks well 2 the others dont work.
This is GREAT quality for 2010 I thought this vid was posted like yesterday!
Funny, I just had this video in my recommendations today. Not complaining, just funny how KZhead finds these videos for me to watch.
The ambulance isn't attending the fire alarm. If you listen carefully, the CAD instructs, "Ambulance 42, Engine One. Westbank Street and North Blackhall Drive - Persons Down To Unknown Cause!"
Engine 42 was ahead of the Battalion Chief's...Ah Eng. 42 was ready to roll, I could swear the DE didn't even look before pulling out the that bay lol.
They probably don't have to. They saturation train. Like burn out workouts but for fire science.
Damn in Chicago they have all that in a fire station like shit in NYC the ambulance are around driving or parked under a bridge. The fire trucks are in the stations.
Not true. FDNY EMS have their own stations. They just aren't based with fire units like in Chicago
OndrejBar you do not no firefighters
Tyler Poulson Haha I think I do. Would be eweird If I didn't know what I do...
No you are rong
+Tyler Poulson He is correct actually. FDNY EMS have their own stations that they go to. They just get spread around the city.
I'm the 1K comment and this was my child hood video!
cool station! It's huge compared to most fire houses in cities.
