I live near an FDNY station and holy they are happy to control the siren and horn. Middle of the night or day they come outta their bays horns and sirens blazing.

Great compilation. When I saw the part with the Los Angeles 37's I couldn't believe how long it took to get traffic to stop in that intersection.
they didn't even stop, that godforsaken mercedes should've gotten taken out with how close it got to the ladder truck

It's nice to see them going out of the way and keeping the community safe it's also frustrating to see people take too long to pull over when they're responding lights and sirens to a call these people need to understand that they're in a hurry they don't want to be too late

I’ve been driving emergency vehicles for the past 9 years. If I were to work in nyc, I woul’ve busted a couple horns, cars rear bumpers and got a couple complains. Damn fdny driver are patient people !

I have massive respect for firefighters around the world simply because of their job which is to run towards danger knowing they might not see their friends and family again while us civilians run away and I'm thankful for that

New York and California must be the worst place ever for first responders
NYC especially. People have no where to go to make an open lane for emergency vehicles.
You mean only new york
California along with Georgia and Florida. Any city that is congested is a pain for these first responders. Worse part is some people just freeze up when they have sirens behind them. They have no clue what to do. They are not taught to move over. I drive otr and if i seem them coming i pull over before any turn off street. Not always easy to do if you have nowhere to do it but you can run red lights if you pay attention in order to find a pull off for them.

It's a wonderful sight seeing and hearing firetrucks driving in the streets, even though almost 100% of the times it's obviously because something is on fire. I love firetrucks, I'm also a grandson of a firefighter.
Most of the times firefighters respond to medical emergencies, since they're usually required to have emt certification.

I love American fire trucks, they are so big, long, wide, especially the ladder truck with the driver in the back, and the horn is so loud. in Switzerland we only have small trucks

Personal opinion: in convoy response the first rig should pull road guard then pick up at the tail end of the chain. Makes it smoother. These some sweet ass rigs though

Strange to see that so many cars jump in front of firetrucks or don't stop when they leave the station or have to cross a red light. Here in Europe this is something you would rarely see. Drievrs are required by law to stop for every emmergency responder running a blue light (here in Europe it is blue and not red) with sounds. They also have to create a "fire lane" as soon as possible so these responders can get through. Or are the images shown here also something rarely seen in the US (cutting trucks, not moving out of way,....)?
The drivers that continued through the intersection after LFD Truck 37 entered it are all disgusting. They had plenty of sight distance and visibility of the the truck's lighting to stop to let it through. I was at a corner gas station in Phoenix one time when drivers, several of them, did the same thing. I had heard the dispatch on my car's scanner, they were rolling out of district to a heart attack, where their own stations medic and engine were on a call and the entire adjacent station's apparatus were committed. Seconds count in such an incident and I was disgusted then also. The drivers are in effect saying "I don't care what you are responding to, I don't want my day delayed 30 seconds."

I love FDNY, they are an amazing fire dept, I like them because when they get to a building fire they don't just spray the windows, they get inside and put the fire out from the inside out. Cobra, are you a engine guy or a truckie?(Even if you are not in the fire dept. you have to be either a engine guy or a truck guy)
They are great! They do everything, they really get in there and go all over. Haha I guess I'm a truckie - only because they're awesome trucks and the job is about forcing doors, going up on the roof and using ladders!

I don't think people will ever learn to get out of the way of emergency services until they lose someone because of this reason I hate to even say that but I got hit by a drunk driver 10 years ago and it almost cost me my life

Glad u are ok. Tough call for some of these clips whether to keep moving or pull over. And the fire truck must still stop at.red.lights unless intersection is controlled by police or one of its own. In the case of move over or keep going, I always look around when I hear one and start deciding then
