Lunteren Fire Department: A brand was created during a military exercise on the heath near Ede.
The fire is spreading quickly due to the wind and the dry grass.
Several off-road fire engines are called in to combat the brand.

I'm always amazed by the versatility of both the team and the fire engine. I feel like I always find something new in your videos - whether it's dousing a wild fire, cutting down trees, responding to an RTC, or fighting a chimney fire or something else entirely! I have a lot of respect for the Lunteren Fire Deparment, for what you do and how you approach it. Dat is toch wat iedereen wil, het dak open en vanaf een rijdende auto lekker alles natspuiten. De ultieme kwajongensstreek. Blij dat het een plaats heeft in jullie arsenaal. Het ziet er simpel aan elkaar gelast uit, maar soms heb je meer gewoon niet nodig. Mooi gebied, mooi gefilmd.
I think we need to upgrade Tom's Bike to include some lights and sirens.

I suggested they look into guardian angel lights for that exact purpose plus lighting for when doing accidents at night
I have seen him have blue flashing lights at night but a siren wouldn't go Amiss then again he lives like 45 seconds away from the station
Great job, watching you for a year,first time I saw the roof turrets. You sure pack a large amount of equipment in a small truck , with pump and roll . Thanks from the USA.
Each video there are new pieces of kit pulled from one storage space or another. Someday, an inventory will do done for this truck and you could film that showing all the 'stuff' stuffed into that vehicle. Another good show. And yet, the truck does not seem to have a back up camera.
The fire truck defo has some thought gone into it at the design stage that’s for sure. No wasted space and lots of cool features like the roof attachments for water Currently no danger of fields catching fire here in the uk, they are so wet most are like ponds!
We'll have a hose-pipe ban by May for sure! The roof turrets are an awesome idea. Don't know why more brigades don't have them fitted.
It is great that volunteers love their jobs and that the state provides these opportunities to volunteers.
Brilliant video. I know any bush fire is dangerous but as it was quickly under control this one was such fun to watch. The roof hatches and fire fighting equipment is brilliant giving you much better chance of spotting and targeting the fire. Keep up the great work and comradeship.

I'd always wondered what those pipes around the roof were for and why your engine had off-road capability. That's a very neat conversion from urban fire engine to wildfire truck 👍

I have been a wildland firefighter for 25 years here in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. Your engines are definitely set up differently than here in the United States. Very cool! Another big thing is we do not wear structure firefighting turnout gear or wear breathing apparatus ever on wildland fires. It is always interesting to see how other countries do things.
Wildfires are still a bit of a puzzle over here. With the threat of big fires like NA and Australia have had for years looming on the horizon. We've had a few hot and very dry summers in the last decade. A lot of time has been invested in mapping everything, making plans and coordinating a network that can support support the fire service. The armed forces can help with logistics and getting access. Local companies can help with equipment. Safety regions with a lot of nature also have more dedicated vehicles to get access. They can also carry more water because they are not the 'one size fits all' truck like these that have to be equipped for every kind of fire.
That's where it's different, it's not a structure firefighting turnout gear, it's all purpose standard gear. Always worn and ready for everything

@@Vervelio01 👍 my own local fire brigade have the same abilities. Since i am near the North Sea and a fjord we have some possibilities to do work on the water as well.

@@rkj4107 exactly my thought, here in Sweden be have th same size of trucks, about the same equipment, but those water cannons on the roof n in the front.... Not here, but we should have, when we have fires like this, it's a lot of hose laying, over all, the Dutch fire apparatuses r so much more "in the front line"..... And stroopwafels and Gouda cheese 🤤

Weer een interessante video van een inzet. Wel apart dat de handkranen op het dak 'verkeerd' gemonteerd zijn. Open lijkt dicht en omgekeerd. 'Normaal' is haaks op de leiding dicht.
He indd je hebt gelijk. misschien is dat omdat ze anders uitsteken en kunnen afbreken als je bijvoorbeeld onder een boom met laaghangende takken door rijd
Ik denk dat het sws te maken heeft met vorige antwoord, maar wat denk je dat er gebeurt als je de spuit aan het monteren bent en je komt tegen de hendel aan 😂😂😂 nu kan dat natuurlijk niet gebeuren

ah, I wanted to ask for a while already, is there any official spelling for "spoedbump", or is it just the English word? Verkeersdrempel is the only word I found, the official German is similar in a way (not that anyone would call it that): Bremsschwelle or Rüttelschwelle

Ik heb eens iemand horen zeggen nadat ik mij afvroeg waarom jullie op de tankautospuit de blauwe zwaailichten aan laten. Die vertelde: dat is om andere eenheden te laten zien dat je een volle tank water bij je hebt. De oranje zwaailichten dat de tank bijna leeg is. Ergens wel een logica. 😄 Ondanks de vele regen toch een natuurbrand.
Jullie doen echt mooi werk respect daar voor 👍🏻❤️

Weer een super toffe video om te kijken dit is weer eens iets anders dan Huizen die in brand staan of ongelukken. Ik heb 1 vraag nu hoor ik dat jullie een ander optisch geluid hebben op de brandweer auto dan als bij andere kazernes is dit altijd zo of ligt dat per regio anders

So these fire trucks have a high pressure deck gun and 4 forestry low pressure? So much is packed into a little truck!
1300 gallons or 5000 liter water, terrain drive with low gears, an electric roof at the back with hard hoses. The truck is not that long but tall in height and every space is used, no wasted space at all.
I'm convinced it's a Dutch TARDIS -- bigger on the inside than the outside.
The terrain firetruck from Lunteren is max 27 feet or 8 meters long. The height will be 12 feet at least, even 13 or 14 feet will be possible. When you stand in front of these trucks with the average height from 1m80 or 6 feet you feel tiny at all. The average normal firetruck will be at least 10 feet in height.
Zo zie je maar weer dat hulpdiensten in het algemeen soms geheime vakjes of dingen hebben om toch ergens hulp te bieden. Zag deze ff niet aankomen 😉😂 of zoals Henk zei ff schakelen (in een automaat) 😉😂 En mannen wat hebben jullie toch weer een heerlijke humor. Het blijft geweldig om naar jullie inzetten te kijken ❤ Tot de volgende video weer ❤
Great video! How much water do they carry on the truck? How does refilling work if there is a big fire. Do you have a watertruck that can come to you? And if so is it a regular tankertruck that stays during the refill or a truck leaving a tank and go back to get a full one and then go back to the fire and switch the full one to the now empty?
I believe they can hold 5000 liter water. And from their other videos you can see them call in an extra truck for water refilling, for explaining purposes let's say truck A is fighting the fire and truck B is the water refilling truck. After truck B is empty or truck A is full, truck B goes to get more water while truck A is still fighting the fire. Refilling truck A goes faster than what they're using so that is why truck B can go for more water.
