The Mindset That Got Me To Anxiety Recovery

When it comes to anxiety recovery -- one of the most important factors that determine success is your mindset. Mindset has the ability to push you through debilitating setbacks, or it can sabotage your recovery goals.
In this video, Shaan breaks down the one mindset that changed his anxiety recovery trajectory. Before this -- he had been going in a circle with his recovery, never making much progress. It wasn't till he focused on this one mindset shift, where his recovery really took off.
Let me know in the comments below if you have any questions/concerns and I'll do my best to answer your questions.
This video is intended to be for educational purposes, not diagnosing. You should work with a physician to seek a medical diagnosis.

  • Don't know who needs to see this, but I have let my symptoms be there and when I was feeling really anxious and out of breathe which literally anything used to trigger it for me to be out of breath, now I let it be there and I don't react to it in a way like I need to do something. I just allow what is happening, I don't ignore it but I just let myself be anxious and honestly in just a minute I'm back to normal again cause I tell myself it's just anxiety and theres nothing wrong . And really it works and it boosts your confidence to go out more cause you not scared to handle it anywhere.

    • if u got everything rolled out by your doctor and everything is fine. just let it be there, when it come just welcome it and don’t react to it like if it’s there that’s fine if it’s not that’s find too, I know it’s hard at first to accept but believe me it will go away once u start accepting it and not react to it, see when u react to it your nervous system will be l sanitised more and so the cycle carry on But when u don’t react to it u give your nervous system a chance to rest and heal, but most importantly u have to remember that it takes time so u have to focus on long term recovery, and also I would recommend you to read “ hope and help for your nerve by Dr.claire weekes” it helps.

    • Yeah, if we resist the symptoms, the brain will see those symptoms like a threat. And it will create the cycle of Anxiety. The key is to let Anxiety symptoms hit you everyday and the intensity will drop gradually. And in fact Anxiety did hit you everyday in the past but because the intensity was very low and gone so quickly that why you wouldn't notice it.

  • So, constantly going to doctors and getting prescriptions for all sorts of anxiety meds, SSRI's, SNRI's, benzos etc, that either do nothing to help, or kind of mask the anxiety but not actually help you recover from it, or sometimes even make you feel 100x worse, is all just a huge waste of time and money and is just preventing you from accepting the anxiety and learning that it just feels uncomfortable but it's not actually harming you and you don't need to fear it, and if you just stop fighting it, stop being scared of it, stop constantly being anxious about feeling anxious, then it will just eventually stop happening, because in effect you are making it happen yourself by being scared and anxious of it happening......

  • Hi Shaan thank you so so very much for everything you’ve done for society with the Facebook group and this wonderful channel. There is one thing I have always wanted to ask you and I find it somewhat striking that it has never really been fully covered: the large representation of men, perhaps disproportionally so, in the videos telling their stories and offering hope. Is this something done consciously on your part to shed desperately needed light on the plague of emotional issues that effect men but is rarely, if ever, spoken about? Or is it simply a coincidence? I say this because as a young kid with severe anxiety I always remember people tell me boys don’t experience that, only girls do. And even as an adult in my 20s and older every time anxiety attacks were discussed on TV and the media it was almost exclusively about women, by women. What a shame. I am embarrassed to have to admit that at a juncture in my life I thought that I was not only the only man that went through this, but that somehow I was “less“ of a man, as ludicrous as that sounds. You have no idea how the large representation of guys in these videos and of course your very own presence and guidance have brought remarkable help to me and to other male friends of mine. If I may, perhaps it would be a good idea if you dedicated an entire, and long, video on this subject matter. That would be phenomenal. Hey man, you’re getting all the guys to talk about their feelings and panics! Keep it going! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

    • Because you are trying to run away from them, the correct way is “if the symptom come then no problem because it is not dangerous”

      @editinglearn4395@editinglearn43952 жыл бұрын
    • @@editinglearn4395 Yes, your mind wants you to sit down and try to figure out why you are feeling the way you feel, if there was a lion waiting for you outside your room wouldnt you want to just sit down and ruminate on how to solve this problem? Even if your friends called you and told you lets hang out, if there is a scary problem then you wouldnt want to leave because you want to figure it out. But! Anxiety recovery is reteaching your mind that there is nothing wrong, so what would a person without anxiety do? He would hangout with his friends even if he doesnt feel like it, until your brain realizes that there is nothing wrong :)

    • Go to the success stories and see for yourself. The people that have recovered aren’t going to waste their time watching videos about anxiety.
