We've all seen parrots talking, but have you seen them brushing teeth and blow drying hair? Doobie is one unique cockatoo for sure🦜❤
You have the greatest LOVE OF ALL!!❤❤ Wonderful post❤Love
Yeah but, how did he get the name Doobie? 🚬🤣
Would love to see Doobie dance to Bruno Mars's, "Uptown Funk" song. With his yellow head feathers at attention and his natural swag, oh, yeah, Doobie be the GOAT to that tune. Move over Bruno.
After hearing his sad history, I was surprised but very glad he hadn't plucked out his feathers. Let's hope he stays happy! 🎶🦜
I was wondering how come th feathers don't grow back. It is so wrong to mistreat animals. Wishing more stricter punishments exist.
Seeing how much Kimberly cares about Doobie's happiness, there's no other way❤ Thank you for watching our video🥰
yeah that's surprising cause some parrots when getting stressed will plucked their feathers..
My sulphur crested came plugged. There was no single feather on his wings. The chest was completely naked. The former owner clipped The flight feathers. He moved in the 31.05.2023. After some weeks, The chest startet closing with feathers and the wing feathers came back. By september He already looked beautiful. He trained his wings, hanging upside down from his swing. And now he can fly from one end of the couch to the other, without flight feathers. Amazing, how fast they can recover. This Lady here dud such a good job. Love to see these two together❤
Yeh, I'm surprised no plucking too, plus so confident with things that are often scary to abused birds. My rescues HATE showers, blow driers etc etc, they do love bathing, but only on their own terms with a bath provided that they can choose to get in or out of, even misting with water freaks mine out, let alone the shower. Blow drier same thing, even if I hold it where they can choose in or out of it, they don't want to have it on them. Doobie's special :)
Doobie looks like a lot of fun. Happy you are making his life better now. ❤😊
Kimberly thankyou for saving Precious Doobie, I am so glad you saved him from his previous mean owner Such a stunning colour
Such sociable and loving animals. Thank you for allowing him to be him and experience unconditional love 💜💜💜
So happy you found each other. Doobie will be treated with love the rest of his life.💕
I knew birds could mimic sounds, repeating words and even phrases. But I never saw one that could copy ACTIONS, like how their human blow dries her hair. Doobie is a born entertainer!
You should check out Apollo the bird, he crazy
yeh, they do it a lot, all birds too, not just parrots, it's been studied extensively as the ability to learn by watching is considered a sign of high intelligence. I think the first study on this was in pigeons, where they locked some in cages while teaching others how to use a complex food system where the ones in the cages could watch & as soon as they let the ones in the cages try it, they immediately did the right thing, no new learning curve like the first birds had, cause they had learnt by watching the first ones learning to use it. Cockatoos in Australia are causing some problems with this now too, since they are learning from each other how to open wheelie bins to access food scraps. Birds in different areas all do it in different ways cause one figures it out & the rest learn by watching, while in other unrelated flocks, the first to figure it out will potentially figure out a different system of opening it & so that's what the rest learn to do in that area & so on
Why do humans think EVERY OTHER CREATURE is Stupid? I would not be surprised if the other creatures taught humans FIRST.
Gosh I can’t believe people keep birds locked in cages 24/7
People who keep birds in cages should never be allowed to have birds.
Gives me the shivers just thinking about it , cool if they can come & go but to be permanently locked up 😢
What a great pet! Thank you for allowing us to get to know him.
@@garyk1334 Absolutely! A cage is necessary to have so that a bird has a safe space to stay in just in case. But definitely not 24/7! They need movement just like all animals and we do❤🦜
@@CuddleBuddiesChannel agreed! A cage is their bedroom or apartment. We all got to see in the pandemic what it's like to be stuck in our apartments 24/7 for weeks, I couldn't imagine being stuck in it for 20+ years! Birds absolutely need to be able to leave their cage & explore a larger area & have social interactions & mental stimulation. So sad the number of people who don't realise this or realise just how intelligent & emotional parrots really are. Glad your channel educates people on this (which it does really well by providing stories people will enjoy watching & subtly reaching those people with that info of what they COULD have with their pet too if they tried to get it)
God bless you. I am not a bird rescue person, but my wife and I have been Pit Bull rescuers for the last 26 years, and she is a vet tech. I have seen many Cockatoos and African Grays, and I never cease to be amazed by these majestic birds, and their incredible life span and individual personalities. Your bird is so lucky to have you!
By the way, looking into their eyes is like looking into their souls. They are living breathing loving, caring extremely intelligent beings. Each with their own personalities. Just like cats, dogs, humans. ❤
Cockatoos are so intelligent and definitely have a sense of humour! They don’t belong in cages! I’m glad Doobie found a loving home. I regularly see large flocks of sulphur crested cockatoos, and smaller flocks of yellow-tailed black cockatoos, they are beautiful creatures!
He is amazing! And so are you!
Beautiful and fun bird buddy. Glad his life was improved and looks like yours also.
Awe Doobie is adorable 🥺😍❤️
Doobie is so well adjusted considering his beginnings, bless you both! 👍🙏🕊️
How could anyone keep him in a cage for the best part of 28 years? I despair of the human race sometimes and our capacity to be so ignorant and so cruel. So glad he's in a loving family now. You are good people. 😊
He's adorable 😍 ❤. I, too, was surprised he hadn't plucked after being on a cage so long. He definitely loves you.
Bless you 4 taking and caring 4 this beautiful baby boy 🐦..he has a good mommy now and his best life ever!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
He's a cutie 💓
Lovely story 🐦 how can anyone keep a bird confined in a cage 24/7? how cruel! For 28 years! I'm so pleased he's with you now, he loves you ❤ Thank you for rescuing him 🌹🌹
Doobie is your spirit animal guide.
I love the wiggle butt of birds when they walk....this is an adorable little one
Keep in mind everyone, parrot education has come a long way since this guy was a baby. Thankful he found a home that understands how things have changed & has improved the quality of life for this guy! 👍👍
So adorable!! ❤ Love his fun blow dryer antics and when he's squealing like he's on a swing. 😂
Never a dull day with Doobie🤩
Thanks for looking after Doobie. Living in Australia seeing a flock of parrots makes my week. I adore parrots and cry inside when these intelligent birds are mistreated. So thanks again for making Doobie happy.
Awww, doobie (sp?) Is such a sweet, beautiful boy! He's a very good boy who found the mum he was meant to have. I do hope they continue to have a happy, long life together! 💗🙂
He’s just too darn cute for his own good. 😊❤🐦
That is adorable how he copies her blow drying and runs his feet thru his crown!!!!! It amazes me to see how smart they are and how they pick up on things we wouldn’t even think about! Wow!!!
Right! Or the teeth brushing. Seems unreal, but just goes to show how intelligent cockatoos are🦜 Thank you for watching our video!

Doobie’s got a GREAT PERSONALITY! I’ve always wanted a bird maybe I’ll start looking around!
This can be your sign🙌 If you do start looking for a bird, please consider giving rescues a chance! Turned out great for Kimberly and Doobie🥰
Make sure you look at their needs in detail AND life expectancy, especially if you get a young bird. Cockatoos can live 80-100 years, so unless you're getting an older rescue bird, that's a LONG time to be caring for one. Really important to research well, cause they really don't do well with multiple homes through their lives. There are species with shorter life expectancies though, 10-30 years only in some cases, or you can rescue one that's already "old" if you don't want such a long commitment They are wonderful pets for the right person, just be sure you research & get one (or more) that suit your lifestyle & commitment levels though
Doobie is absolutely amazing and so very precious 💕💕💕
Im so lucky to live in Sydney Australia where these birds..sulphur crested cockatoos ..live amongst us although some ppl wouldnt say hapoily but i love them...i have another native Australian bird as a pet...my little budgie..we also have rainbow lorrikeets that are in massive numbers ..correllas..galahs..we are super lucky to be able to see an live amongst these beautiful animals .
