Dipper made Chris part of his flock, whether he wanted it or not😉
i had some of them. very trustfull. but i never kept them alone. because they cuddle with their partners all the time. they really need this. they are still tame and hang around with you. please give him a partner.
Chris obviously cares for Dipper. They seem to have an amazing friendship. very sweet.
Is there any way to control their pooping places?
@@Unfamous_Buddha yeah! They can be trained but if you forget to offer the poop stand every 15 minutes , they won't wait for it 😂
_What kind of paraket is that?_ _Please tell me.._
The smaller the bird, the bigger the sass.
I'm convinced this applies to all animals atp😂
Soooo true
@taetrrtot6205 it does, mostly for mammals and birds. I used to have a love bird who spat in the face of everything, and would destroy anything and everything until she got paper.
@@namelessdork2256 my friend has a Mastiff and 3 Chihuahuas. The Mastiff is the lap dog and the Chihuahuas are the guard dogs🤣
Same with ducks, dogs, roosters, and men.😊
I've since learned that pet birds are just sassy cats with wings.
Yep, sounds about right!😄 We hope you enjoyed Dipper's story!
Yep, they sure are!! I've got 2 pink & grey galahs & my boy is def a toddler that never grows up..they're so full of birdenality & just a joy to have around 🥰😇
Except, unlike cats, they crap all over the house.
n they smell great- cuter than cats
They're a lot harder to deal with than other pets and people don't realize that. They need constant attention and they need freedom to roam and fly as they poop all over the house. They're also noisy so don't get one if you have neighbors that will complain. My Quaker parrot is turning 28 this year and he's always been quite a handful. He's always been free to roam the house but he normally stays at his cage. He's never been sick, very healthy and he's quite a meanie even though I hand raised him. You can hear him squawk down the street, seriously. I always warn people about the cons of parrots because ppl ignorantly bring them home and then realize how difficult they can be.
"Man wanted a quiet, gentle bird". The man might as well have hoped for a Pegasus
I was thinking this dude was chill af for a bird.
IDK, do female cockatiels count? Perhaps a pigeon?
@@oryxified1430i have 2 female tiels theyre anything but quiet and gentle yeah they dont sing but they SCREAM very loudly when they want anything i cant go out of a room without them screaming that they wanna follow they also chew through anything but i love them both regardless
My female cockatiel was very quiet. She'd only scream when my dad got home.
That is one of the funniest comments I have ever read, txs!
If you're curious what a 'linnie' is, it's a Lineolated, or Barred, Parakeet. They're considered one of the quietest and calmest of the parakeet species, but also also capable of pretty advanced speech.
Thank you. I have never seen this particular species before. I want one 😊
Thank you .
I was thinking it looked a lot like a budgie, but budgies are also in the parakeet family.
@@TheMimiSard Yes, they are often mistaken for Budgies, but are bigger than Budgies, just slightly smaller than a Cockatiel, and their tail feathers are very short compared to other species, their colors are quite stunning
@@asciiavatar Weird because this bird is way smaller than my parakeets, so I don't know what you are saying here.
Dipper is cute as hell and Chris sounds like he is a great person/owner.
We agree with both statements! Thank you for watching our video🥰
My budgie was 15 years old when he died. Beautiful chatty boy. Last year of his life can't fly and spent most of his time on my shoulder or chest. And last weeks slept only in my hand.... Parrots are the best! Any of them. 🥰
Mine were only a few months old when my grandmother ☠️ mine. I would try to feed them, and she kept throwing their food away. I was 10, I couldn't help them the way I wanted. I didn't even get to bury them, my grandmother threw them out with the trash.

If you're lucky, birds are full of personality. It's the birds that don't bond that you have to be worried about. If your bird doesn't bond, you will have problems with the bird's health. If they want to interact and be with you all the time, count yourself lucky, you have a pal for life.
often longer than life as they will probably outlive you lol
because birds are not meant to live in a house, their wings cut...
@@looptimelapse Which is why most people don't trim their wings. You are talking about practices that have mostly died out and pretending they are normal. Most bird owners, myself included, keep them outside their cage all day long and never trim their wings.
@@ArchaneusJust like with dogs. Docking their ears and tails just makes us ill. It's mutilation for the owners purposes, only pain for the animal. I'm so glad to hear this about the birds. We never docked our pibbles OR any of our birds. I loved watching my daughter take our doves to the sink for showers. It was so cute. They loved it! Even our iguana wandered around with the dogs, cats, birds, turtles etc back in the day.😊🐾🙏🏼🕊️
He's too adorable for his size 🥹🥰
May be considered too cute to enter some states!😄 Thank you for watching our video🥰
Dipper is adorable 🥰 Consider getting him a brother! Two is always better than one for their quality of life.
We will let Chris know, sounds like a great idea!
@@CuddleBuddiesChannel just keep in mind that they may not take to each other. I'd make sure to be around for those first few days. It just makes me nervous because you're both so precious!
We had a hen Budgerigar [Budgie] and I taught her to speak. She followed me everywhere in the house, knew exactly when I was getting home from work and would greet me at the door. My wife said that just before I got home, she would go sit on the couch, look out the window and wait for me. Unfortunately that love got her killed. I went to the pantry to get something but it was just out of reach so I went up on tip-toe. As I did, she went under my heal - well, you know what happened next! I was gutted. My wife and I had a wee cry over our Budgie. Truly, birds are quite remarkable and are much more intelligent than most people give them credit. They are also very loving.
Oh no😢I'm so sorry for your loss ❤
Oh that's so sad 😞 you can always look out for a surrender bird at a local animal shelter
This warms my heart. I've been in the avian field myself for 30+yrs now. Having hands on experience with everything from Warblers to Bird of Prey. And i've also owned or should i say BEEN OWNED by many different parrot species. My two current fids being a Senegal and Black Capped Conure. And it's true folks "Linnies" or Lineolated parakeets are typically very quiet easy going birds. But this does go to show everyone that each animal has it's own distinct personality. For example, my Senegal Parrot Kia is EXTREMELY quiet and pretty much a perch potato. You'd think she was a Pionus parrot more than a Poicephalus parrot. My Black Capped Conure Cricket is the complete opposite fun loving always ready to go. Very typical behavior of the Pyrrhura Conure family. This is a blue mutation Linnie as the dominant color is green. I have always felt the more you put into ANY animal the more you will get out of them. Parrots being extremely social animals need that kind of stimulation to thrive fully. And it's quite clear Dipper is getting that and then some from his owner. Being out of the cage and just with his owner is pretty much what most parrots want. They are birds after all and HIGHLY HIGHLY intelligent ones at that. They are not meant to be cooped up in cages and just forgot about. That's why i always advocate to people when they ask my advice. Make sure you do as much research on the given species your interested in. And to start small before you go big. Just because one talks or is more colorful doesn't mean it will be a better pet long term. Budgies are often underrated when it comes to their talking ability. So i would definitely start their before jumping right into owning a Green Winged Macaw or Moluccan Cockatoo. Two very large birds i would NOT recommend for beginners.
I can't get over how small and precious this bird is and his beautiful color. Sounds like you guys have a wonderful bond and Dipper is a happy, energetic little bird. Good luck guys and many more days of cuddles!
I love that he doesn't keep his bird caged up 24/7, has a large cage, and gives his bird attention but no matter how much attention you give your animal, it's never enough. One is the loneliest number. It needs another bird as a friend and a cage mate. Please get another bird for Dipper. He deserves it.
That's not always a great idea-- some birds get territorial and can hurt other birds over their living space. I have kept birds (linnies too!) my whole life and especially female birdies can get like that, or when they're elderly and get used to having humans as their flock mates. Every birdie has their own unique personality, it's important to cater to that! If you can't give your birdie friend enough attention during the day though (at least 4 hours a day of undivided attention, and 8 hours of free roam around the house is a good indicator) it's good to get them a friend. Just try to introduce another bird to the flock when they're both still younger so they can get used to each other, and make sure they have separate cages they can retreat to.
@@ilsevanderbij7179 I agree!
Many things can happen if you do that. In many cases, the birds can lose interest in the human and favour spending time with each other. Territorial fights, and particularly jealousy fights, are dangerous. If birds seem to simply tolerate each other, then it is an incident bound to happen. You can own a bird of any species without extensive knowledge of their psychology and behaviour, but only in the case of a unique bird.
You obviously have no experience with birds........some birds will not allow any other bird into their space such is the bond with their owner. We have a Jenday Conure and there is no way she would accept another bird, she has bonded with my wife and myself and that is as big as the "flock" needs to be for her.She is now 24 years old and and very happy......unhappy birds don't tend to live very long.
I own 2 budgies and an African Grey parrot. I got the 2 budgies at the same time--a male and female--so they can be with and entertain each other. They are happy just being with their own. I rescued the Grey after a friend called me saying someone abandoned it in his cage at a house with no food or water. By the time I got the Grey, he had plucked all his chest feathers out. Very depressed! We have NO idea what he has been thru, but I have become his "flock", I am the only person he will allow to handle him, feed him, pet him, etc. He CANNOT have a mate/companion given the circumstances I acquired him altho I would love for him to. All I can do is be there for him, be HIS mate, give him toys, attention and endless love.🥰 He is now a happy and healthy Grey....😍💖🌹💖🦜
This birdie is so adorable! I just love him 🥰
Dipper is precious!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Little gem for sure💎
He's a small part of your world, but you're his entire.
What a cutie! He looks like he would keep you on your toes. He reminds me a lot of my late budgie, Chipper, he was the same outgoing personality as Dipper.❣️
Get him a friend!!!
This is good advice!
Love to all the bird-brains out there, including me!!!!
OMG he reminds me a lot of Taco, my green cheek conure. He passed away Sept 2 2022 on my chest, sick and took a huge piece of my soul with him. I love and miss you Taco! I took him to the vet and they said it was already too late, to take him home and make him comfortable. Cherish your baby, you never know when that day will come and it will kill you. I now have 2 parakeets and a Quaker. It's STILL hard, I'm crying now typing this. You guys remind me a LOT of me and Taco, not trying to ruin or sadden anyone's day, just treasure your companion. If I could liken what I went through to anything it would be like that movie the Golden Compass where they separated your inner spirit animal to your person. It really truly almost killed me.
Thank you for sharing. The Daemon comparison is very beautiful way of seeing it. I'm glad Taco got to spend his life with you instead of someone else.

Dipper is a treasure.🐦
He is indeed! Thank you for watching😃
Never heard of a Linnie, but he sure is beautiful! I once had a yellow parakeet and she was the sweetest thing. Her name was Tambo, she loved corn on the cob and she wouldn’t/couldn’t fly after an accident in which a quarter of her breast feathers and many under her wing were plucked out. They eventually regrew but she never flew after that. I could walk outside with her on my shoulder without fear of her flying away. I bawled like a baby when she died (and I was a grown woman in my 30’s)! 😢 🐤💔
Linnie is short for Lineolated Parakeet aka Barred Parakeet if you decide to look into them more. :) Tambo sounds perfectly precious. I love budgie parakeets. They have so much love and personality packed into that tiny little body! Losing them is tough but I'm glad we're able to share them with others in stories like yours about Tambo. ❤
I'm 76 years old and I have been bawling like a baby for 40 years over the many rabbits fish and my birds that have died usually several every year...I still have several birds many years even decades old...tears are no stranger to me...remember grief...is love with no where to go

Why does this bird look and feels like a rocket ready to go off
We have a spa here in Bangkok which is run by a canary called Happy. She looks (only in green) and behaves like Dipper. She is my “first” bird that I really encountered and I was also amazed to see a being that small having so much personality, wit, and love.
He is just so adorable.🥰
I got a lovebird fischer. 2 years ago, I was browsing an internet store for parrots and this one guy was selling this rather odd parrot, it was a fischer. At the time I didn't know any types except for macaws and cockatoos but the way the fischers had these white circles around their eyes was funny to me, so i bought her. My expectations went like this: She woul,d arrive, be afraid of me for a week or 2, she would sit in the cage until she got comfortable, then I train her to fly to me. None of these expectations were met... She came with a daring personality, when i put my hand near the cage she would charge at my fingers and attempt to bite and i did get bitten, those beaks are strong, so i let her sit in her cage for the day in my room then the following day, I let her out. The moment I opened the cage door she went flying out and landed on my head. She'd start playing with my hair then going for my ears, and after a week she would just like to sit on my shoulder and play with me, what she didn't like are my fingers. I don't know whether this was because the environment she was in or something but she hated fingers, you put them close and she bites so i never really got to touch her, i could only just let her be and act like she isn't there. I did try to get her to stop attacking my finger by putting on gloves (to protect my fingers) then start massaging her head with them, this helped a bit so I could pat her without gloves after it, and until now I can only do pat her head and massage her beak and I've decided thats good enough cause I don't know what she went through. ( Disclaimer she actually now likes head pats and beak massages, she even closes her eyes when i do it sometimes, usually when she doesn't like something she bites or moves away) Anyhow, I even got her to start kissing, just kept getting my lips bitten until she figured out my lips wont attack her and then she started doing it to me, she even comes over to my mouth just waiting for it to happen its just adorable. But there is one thing I don't get about her, she is crazy, she doesn't get afraid of any other bigger animals, I have a medium sized bird like 4 times bigger than her and she runs after it and bites it, I even have a cat, good thing shes a calm one cause one day I just walked in my living room and saw my fischer just sitting on the floor in front of the cat and what it looked like she was disciplining the cat cause she was literally screaming at her and the cat was just sitting there not doing anything, how it even happened? i forgot to close the cage properly so my fischer just opened the door on her own and flew out then decided to converse with the cat. Anyways thanks for reading about my crazy bird and have a good day.
he’s so much fun. that little guy is not just a pet, he’s a total companion. :) 🐦🌷🌷
Barred Parakeets, Lineolated Parakeets or the Catherine Parakeet are all what these small parrots are really called… Or Linnies for short… 🤗❤❤❤

We got a linnie a year or so ago. They are super cool and fun. We know have 5. The talk and activity is really neat. They are quiet and yet super expressive and super intelligent .
You are such a lucky guy! Dipper reminds me of my Toshy. Toshy died almost 40 years ago, but I still think of him so often. You could talk to him, he understood a lot of words. He wanted to be everywhere with the family, liked to drive in cars and sat in his own armchair - even outside in nature. He flew away and got lost in the woods 3 times and still found his way back. At the end of his life, he liked to have a little beer with my father and then lay on his pillow, a little tipsy. I will never forget him, he was so unique.
Cute! 😍😘🥰
A bird saying This needs more salt is the equivalent of a person saying this needs more cyanide. Also cute borb

I always thought birds needed a bird friend, like guinea pigs?
Yes and no. With some species (I don't know much about linnies), it can be tricky to introduce a second bird after the first is mature. I suggest getting two at the same time, if/when possible. Even if they start out good friends, you have to be prepared to have two cages and separate out-of-cage time if they (suddenly) don't get along. Birds who don't get along still offer companionship to each other by calling to and watching each other.
