Jimmy2Tech thank you for saying it in metric much respect
Jimmy2Tech now can hydro every accidentally get ripped off or scratched off?
@@peter_W91 it can but, clear coat prevents that
How durable has it been?
@@afatherofmany still on today and no problems. Looks as good as the day we put it on :)
I had to hit that like button as soon as you said "that's 33°C for out metric friends" very considerate of you. Good luck for the future.
Professor Breeze me too :)
There's a few things I like about this video. First, you didn't f it up with stupid music, you didn't fill it with a whole bunch of unnecessary b/s, you're also quite concise, I don't think you left any stones unturned.
Hey thank you SO much. I'm glad you liked the video and I hope you find it useful if you decide to hydro dip. Tried to be as thorough as we could for still being beginners ourselves. More videos coming really soon! Thanks for watching.
Thanks so much! We appreciate it:)
The filter type could be referenced for the respirator you're using. Different manufacturers have different references for filter types, usually color based.
Respect to both you guys as you mentioned everything in detail, U guys R AWESOME! Absolutely amazing work & because of you I gained more knowledge. Please continue doing this, thank you and God bless you both!
Thank you for the kind words, I'm glad you found the video useful. Good luck on future dips.
Wish I would have seen this video first before I tried it..I learned everything I need to know by watching yalls!! About to try it again!! Thanks!!

Priscilla Scarberry how’s it go
Watched your first video and went straight onto part two. I have never done hydro dipping before, but looking forward to starting after watching you guys. Thanks for a great video, clear shots and very well explained. I have now subscribed to your channel 🇬🇧
Thanks so much bros. I really learn how to apply that thing. I've decided not buy a new guitar. Now I will do your advice hehe
Thanks for clear, to the point break down of each step. Honestly, I was on the fence bout trying to do this myself till I saw this vid. Great vid guys
Thank you so much! Best of luck. If you have any questions feel free to ask:)

Nice job guys! Definitely thought I could do hydrodipping myself after watching some commercial guys doing it in a big warehouse. Pretty much easy as I thought. Thanks for the video
Great video explained it really well I’m going to try a go at this thanks. Loved the nine line shirt too. I’m from England British army vet I have a nine line brothers in arms hoodie 👌👊
Brilliant tutorial thank you :-)
No problem! Glad you enjoyed it.
Loved this!!! THANK YOU for giving so much detail on your how to instructions.
Very nice work… teamwork absolutely positive. Thank you.
Thanks for the heads up on this!
Concise professional approach. ...I hope you get many followers in the future....would like to see a catalogue of designs or some of your own designs
paul goodier thank you so much for your kind words! Yeah my dad and I are still beginners. Hopefully we get better in the future and can upload more personal content. Custom projects and so forth. Yeah the channel is a little bit of everything, or will be soon. Dipping/ reviews/ hunting/ games/ how to's. A little bit of everything between what me and my father do. Thanks for watching Paul, remember if you found the video useful be sure to share, hit that like button and subscribe to support. Thank you again.
Nice video. The 2nd amendment shirt is dope!!
Very well done, guys. Sound and video were clear (no screaming or loud noises in the background), dialog was concise and hints and tips were well spaced and the results were great. Thank you. Now I want to hydro dip everything I own!!
Thank you so much for your kind comments! Appreciate it very much so. Glad you enjoyed the video, and hydro dipping is fun I would highly recommend giving it a try. If you need any assistance always feel free to DM me on the Facebook page with any questions you may have and I also appreciate seeing some of your guys results. I just recently bought a Glock handgun and want to hydro dip the frame in a carbon fiber look. Your video gave me a good deal of confidence to do something like that that other "how to" videos didn't. Again, thank you.
anytime, glad we could have been some help for you. Let me know how it goes!
that is soooo cool!!!! Thank you for posting!!!
Showed this to my students today and they really want to give this a go, how do you fancy a little trip to the UK and doing a lesson or two?. I think we will start off with the the basic hydro dipping of shoes then move onto bigger and better things. loved how you clearly explained each stage. Full marks for presentation.
Thank you very much for your kind words! I'd say a trip would be spectacular Haha. Hydro dipping is definitely something worth spending a little time on. It's also a bunch of fun! Best of luck and I hope your students enjoy:) Good to hear our video was useful.
Jimmy2Tech where can I get the film
@@whoknowzay7358 links are right in the description for you or you can research places like Amazon and Ebay. Just search for "hydrographic film" and you'll find what you need.
Don't ever let the rinsing water be hotter than your dipping water, otherwise you risk de-coloring your print !
Thanks for good video, going to try an old revolver this week and learned a lot of good tips. Thanks for sharing knowledge.
No problem, we are happy to share some of the things we learned. Best of luck! Let us know how it goes :)
Brilliant loved the video, really helped understand the process of doing the job from start to finish. Thanks guys.
David Houghton no problem. Glad you enjoyed the video and found some use from it. We appreciate the feedback. Thanks for watching.
Good vid and 2A T shirt!
bbwphantom thanks so much! Grunt style T's are the best.
12:48 thank you for the translation for me - a metric friend 😅
Happy to help! :)
Great video guys. Extremely helpful. Thank you for taking the time to show us.
Perfect expectations and straightforward to understand, thanks guys, ive liked and subbed 💪👍👍👍👍👍
is there a chrome hydrodip graphic or gold? Like it would look like chromed parts after you dip it??
Haven't looked yet, I'll spend some time looking for some for you! Cause you're right that would look amazing. Especially a gold film on like a weapon stock.
@@Jimmy2Tech I looked on amazon but couldn't see anything like that.
"Dragons, skulls, flames." Only reason why I'm kinda iffy on hydro dipping. All the film's you can buy are all kinda the same. Don't get me wrong, if you like that kinda stuff, have at it. This just makes me wanna look into printing my own films if I had the money. Haha
Sorry for the late reply, been working a lot of hours! You should take a little deeper look at films, because there are many more then the typical flames and skulls. It really depends on what you are looking for. Personally a lot of the time for test dip purposes we use flames or skulls because you can usually find the film cheaper and at a plethora of places. We prefer dips with flags, colored carbon fibered looks, and camo patterns more particularly. So try not to let the skulls discourage you, because there are many other choices with a little searching. Regarding to making your own film patterns, my father and I both wish we had the means to make our own, maybe sometime in the near future? Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment. :)
Where can i get the flims
That came out so nice I want to thank you for introducing me to this type of work hobby it's going to be awsome plz keep good content coming thank you again
Thanks for the compliment, glad to inspire you to do new things:)
You can blow out the air bubbles to prevent oils from your hands interfering with the dip also
Kinda wanna see someone do something crazy like hydrodipping their entire truck. That would be cool.
Hey...you let me use an inground swimming pool and I'd be more than happy to give it a whirl. Haha.
@@Jimmy2Tech Yo yo I wanna ask you something. Do I need a special printer to hydro drip and if yes, which one?
@@chrisven899 there is a printer that prints the film, but that's out of our league at the moment. We just buy the film currently.
@@Jimmy2Tech Is it really expensive, or is it kind of affordable? And thank you for answering
@@chrisven899 to be honest with you I'm not to sure of the price. Awhile ago when I looked it was pretty pricey (a few hundred) so we've always just bought the film because it's pretty cheap:)
“Liked” for the 2A shirt.
Definitely gave all the right tips. Appreciate the time you took to explain it. Doc
No problem. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching.
This is great, thanks!!
Good DIY video but one one major thing you guys failed to mention is that this process only works on Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) plastics. If you follow this same process on a parts made of polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PET), or Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) plastics, I can guarantee that the person following the process will have problems. The reason the process will not work on the other plastics is because every plastic except ABS needs to be "FLAME TREATED" to "out-gas" the release agents stuck in the plastics during the molding process. You need to identify the type of plastic you are working on First. All molded plastics have one identifiers mentioned above on the backside of the part. If you follow the instructions in this video and you are working with anything but ABS, you will get lifting during the painting process, separation during the dipping process and lifting at some point after the process......guaranteed! If you don't know what type of plastic you have "flame treat" the part to be safe.
Steve Clark well said! Will note that on the next video:)
Make sure your pattern is the way you want it to go on the item don’t wanna any it upside down and have to look at it 😂
Yea what she said
Thanks bro, 4 sharing this info and keep going 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
I didn’t even know this was a thing. Frickin’ sweet. Thanks for explaining the process. Looks really cool on the truck!
Thank you so much! It's a really cool process and can come out amazing with some practice.
You moved one side faster than the other. That's why the dragons came out spaced weird. Also, the tape is to keep it from spreading out. It doesn't act as a float. I thought the matte look looked better personally. But nice touch.
Look at the pattern they used. The dragons are spaced out weird on the pattern itself it did not happen from dipping. You cannot fix a pattern by dipping a different way.
@@xex2kok good catch. Dunno how I missed that. Appreciate the cordial correction
What paper do u use for images im trying to learn how to atart hydro dip
Hydrographic film, all links to everything used in the description.
Good video, now you have me thinking what needs hydro dipping around the house
That's what we like to do. Spark some interest.
Informative video! Thanks!
That green t-shirt is going to age well. I just know it.
I'm glad i wasn't the only one who noticed the gun nut t-shirt.
227 years and counting
Hey gentleman thank you very much for your help today on answering a couple questions. I'm probably making this more complicated than it actually is respectfully Jim p
Jake Phillips Does you replying to Hemaang make you a "free speech nut". Exercising a right does not make one a "nut". Mindlessly dropping SJW passive aggressive judgements about someone you know nothing about is a whole lot nuttier than wearing a t-shirt. Try questioning your programming, free thought is amazing and fun. Give it a chance.
Boiii on the left looks like damn FPS Russia!
I'll take it as a compliment :p thanks haha.
@@Jimmy2Tech of course haha
Thanks for the help
Good stuff, boys! One of the most informative videos on the subject! Thanks!
Thank you so much for your comment :)!
Where do you get the film?
Links right in the description:)
Jimmy2Tech you fucking smart ass watch your mouth
Thank you guys!
Nice video, guys. Great tips. I'm planning on using hydrodip camo to cover my paintball armor.
Great idea! I may try to dip my paintball marker soon.:)
lol thanks I was just about to see what that is in Celsius before you told me. thanks for the vid very informative.
dean tape hey no problem. Glad you found the video useful! Got more coming real soon! :)
Very well explained, nice!
fascinating! Thank you.
Nice job! You guys did the best job of explaining the process that I have seen! I am wanting to do a couple of guitars, so other than the film, could I use your same procedures on a guitar body?
Yeah I do not see why you couldn't. Glad you found the video useful! Thanks for watching and beat of luck on your future dips.
Never even heard of this until now. Gotta try it! Do you know if you can hydro dip over powder coat?
Hey, I was curious, how do you clean the other side off? Wondering what's the easiest product to use. Thanks for your time! Loved the vid makes me want to try!
Pretty cool things you do sir👍
Thanks for a very informative video, great job
Dave Foote thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed the video:)
Came out really cool will have to try that
Thanks , that looks great
Good Thanks Guys . I am gonna try on my car and later few other stuff .. this videos shows the dip was stick on the glass too . is that ok comes out quick ... or do you have something to do to remove ..
Hi Guys, thanks for a really clear demo, great video and the results look impressive.
Thank you so much!
Great job guys. Well explained and well spoken
Thank you very much!
Thank you for this video I just got a project paintball gun and want to dip it. ill be watching this video like a prayer
Glad to hear it ans good luck 👍
Thanks, nicely done instructional vid! Any tips on how to do something flat with 2 sides, specifically a recurve bow limb (not the whole bow just 2 separate limbs).
Welp I dont have too many tips particularity. Alot of it will be trial and error, I'm sure there maybe some videos up on KZhead of dipping a bow that may help you get an idea of how to dip the item in regards to angles. Usually multiple side dips and round items are the hardest but with a little practice it can be done.:)
Very good work guys! Thanks for the helpful tips!
No problem! Thanks for watching.
Great video and very informative. where can I find films? I love the Kryptek Highlander and the only size I can find is 18" x 6.6'?
Thank you so much! Hope it was helpful to you. Films can be found on ebay and a bunch of other places. Finding the size you need may be the challenge. I found the pattern you said on ebay with dimensions of 18" x 6.6'. Film usually comes in a larger roll like that, but if you're looking for something wider to do a bigger object for example you may have to search more, if you don't come up with any luck, feel free to DM me on my facebook page and I'll be more than happy to help you out the best I can! So use only hot water? And whats the degrees on water 90° im want to do a valve cover one day i order my stuff.. so main paint is you hydro dip color dope iwanna try this
Very helpful. Thank you
great vid. what about doing larger parts? like something that might need a water trough sized tub to fit in? im considering doing a portion of a Harley faring.
Shawn Fenner hey, well now your mentioning it! Our next video is going to be a little larger part. Then after that we are going to be dipping a rim! And we have a huge metal container we are going g yo use as a tub, and probably heating it with a propane heater. It's gonna be interesting, so stay tuned! :)
Great video. Thanks for all the information and step by step. The explanations helped me a lot.
No problem. Glad you found the video useful. Happy dipping!
Thank you so much!
What did you use to clean up the mirror? Thanks
All in all a great video.
Thanks for the metric system conversion for the water temperature! Just to clarify when placing the film on the water, is it sticky side facing up or sticky side facing down? Cheers!
No problem, glad you found the conversions useful. As for clarification, the sticky side of the film goes face down on the water. I apologize for the late reply, if there's anything else you need feel free to ask or DM me on the facebook page and I'll be glad to help the best I can. :) Thanks for watching.
Awesome guys
Amazing guys. Does removing the tape cause the print to tear or does it leave a smooth line of separation
Great job .
excellent tutorial guys ! Very Professional. Keep up the good work boys !!!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
Great video thanks for this, just one question. The angle the dip happens at, I imagine if it's too flat or to steep an angle it'll mess up. What's the optimal angle and how'd you know? Thanks
Before we began dipping we researched a long while. 30 to 45 degree angles work optimal, but it is dependent on what you are dipping. The angle ensures a nice even application and also leaves the opportunity for air bubbles that may have been trapped to escape from the item and not stay under the film and pop.
This is the best hydro dip tutorial on KZhead I ordered some ohw and supplies gonna give it a try this video made it seem kinda easy Gave me the confidence to mess up some shit wish me luck
Best of luck! A little practice goes a long way. If you need any help always feel free to send us a message:)
@@Jimmy2Tech thanks Yea I’m looking for things to practice on and I’ll be sure to let you know if I need help I’ll let you know how it goes I’m gonna bet the first couple prolly not so good but gotta learn what are some god household things to practice on
@@glkshooter6168 a really good easy item to tinker with is a light switch cover. It's flat, a simple dip, and good practice. :) the hardest items to dip are usually ones that are perfectly round.
@@Jimmy2Tech that’s perfect I have spare some ones that look like they came outta the 70s lol thanks i appreciate it I’ll let you know how it goes

Hey great vids loved them! You got a new subscriber!! So if I was going to do a blue carbon fiber dip on a plastic car part would I want to do a base coat of black or blue?
Thanks Matt, we appreciate the support. The base coat color is always what shows through. So if you wanted a nice blue carbon fiber, a nice blue basecoat would be ideal for that application. Thanks for watching!
Jimmy2Tech ok great thanks I really appreciate it! Answers my question!
Can you use any clear coat? Or does it have to be specifically intercoat clear?
Very nice!!
Great job thanks guys
Happy to help.
Looks good
Looks good.
First time I tried it, during the rinse some of my design came off. Trying again. This is how we learn.
