When the point of sky is “rebirth”.. its always so hard to let go because of the amount of progress you have made

The first time I played Sky was years ago, when Eden was still called “The Storm” or something. I remember when I realized that you had to die, i was playing with a whole line of people and I broke off. After, I floated around and tried to honk at them to tell them that it was ok. Then I cried at the ending scene

One moment that has always really touched me is at 2:53 when the protagonist swirls their hand through the transparent cosmic manta. It's such a unique addition steeped with pure wonder that dovetails perfectly with TGC's creative design goals - to instill a sense of awe and touch upon larger questions of what our place and purpose is in the world. The music choice is spectacular as well. I love this, like so many others. Thank you.

@@enigmatic3194 u m m m m idk how i can help besides telling you. Friending. After you light someone by taping on the icon above there head that looks like a candle lighting the other and then lighting your candle you can tap on them or tap Y on nintendo to go to a friendship tree. Technically its not called a friendship tree bc you haven’t friended em yet but you get the point. Select the first button at the bottom of the “friendship tree” and it should cost you one candle. When you press it the other player will have to except the friend request for it to work :> Then you have a friend if they excepted it lol. For emotes just relive the spirits. The spirits are easy and hard because some are just built different. When you relieve a spirit what ever emote it has you can do. As for actually being able to get stuff from the spirits like hair cloths instruments a table and masks youll need to go through the area / realm your in. After your done obviously for a new player you cant skip the elders introduction… youll need to tap on the emotes with the red ball in the corner of the emote icon. You cant do this at the hone space. Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh candles… a lot of people say not to say anything ab it or show the new player about it but like they need to know in order to progress through the game. So… candles. Just light up the red and white candles and youll get wax. For devices like android and apple youll need too tap on the candle on the top right to forge the candle. Thats if you have collected enough wax to get one. Hearts. You can buy one for 3 candles from a normal spirit and for the seasonal spirit guides. Last. Or if you have questions. Eden. Just get past the rocks. The wind. And krills. For the first stage at least. For the second part you are needed to die. Once you have given your winged light (yellow glowy people that you shove into you cloak to make you fly) to the statues you will be reborn. You can use the eden candles or descended candles to upgrade your friendship trees and spirit tree things. Oh and you will need to dodge rocks on the second part but at some point the rocks will never stop. Thats when you go in and give your winged light to the statures in there as well. DO NOT JUMP! It will make you loose your wings faster. You want to give as much away as you can. The more candles the better Any more you need? Im pretty dead rn lmao Oh and the spirits will some times have a call or a standing thing you can use. I love the crab call hhhehehehehhehehe.

Sky has to be one of the best games ever made. The first time you play, it feels so huge and beautiful. But what’s even better is that the game wasn’t just made for the first play through, it was made to be played over and over.
This described the feeling of Sky perfectly. When I first played I was so excited to play this cute game with my friends, where you can fly and adventure finding spirits and clothing. Then they said "Yeah let's go to Eye of Eden, we might as well take her too!" And then it went from a cute game to a terrifying adventure, and you captured that perfectly. During the end of Eye of Eden, somehow I was the only one left, and I wandered alone with the statues, and then you go to that blank space suddenly you remember everything you've done to get there. This animatic is amazing, and perfectly captured this game.

Oh dear, the LORE. Spoilers up ahead! You are a child of the light. Your mission is to spread as much light to the world possible, help spirits relive theyre memories, and get to the orbit (which Ill explain later). You first start off in Isle of dawn. Where your journey begins. You start off by getting through a little cave, and getting your very first cape from something called a "Winged light". You then make it to the temple and on your way there, you help a spirit relive its memories. only then you can pass the gates. After that, you get another winged light. You then must fly to the temple and awaken the elder. Daylight prairie is the second realm. It is a very green place with alot of clouds. There are 2 areas and 7 or 8 spirits. One area doesn't require any spirits. For the other area, you need atleast 4 spirits. Just like Isle of dawn, you must fly up to the temple and awaken the elder. Hidden forest is a little bit less friendly. There is rain that drains your light, and dark creature crabs that take your light away. Hidden forest is- well, a forest with alot of dark plants. Thankfully, you can burn those dark plants (not like theyre a problem). Again, same goal as the other two. Valley of truimph is an icy castle. You must slide down the cliff to get to the race areas. There are 2 areas where you can choose where you want to race. One requires atleast 2 spirits and the other requires none. Once you race down the ridge, "the city's gates will open to welcome you". Still, the same goal as the other 3. Now were getting to the darkest realms. Golden wasteland is- well, a wasteland filled with darkness. This realm isnt like the realms you have seen before. It is filled with darkness, dark dragons and dark creature crabs. Your goal is to awaken the elder and do not lose your stars from the dragons. Vault of knowledge is a stepback to where you are now. Your goal is to get to the top. Once you do, you are greeted by the final elder spirit. Once you get through that realm, the real challenge begins. Welcome, to the Eye of Eden. This is byfar the darkest realm in the entirety of sky. The first section is wind and rocks. You must climb up the mountain and not get hit by any rocks. That was the easiest part. Welcome to the second section of Eye of Eden. Dark dragons and crystals. There are 5 dark dragons in the area and several dark crystals that could potentially drain your light. Once you get past that area, your about to get into the hardest part. The third section of Eye of Eden, is the hardest and final. You see children. That look like you. They went through the same thing as you. They had the same goal as you. And your goal is to give them the light they need. And no, thats not all you have to do. There are several dark crystals falling from the sky that take away your stars/winged lights. Once you have none left, you start turning into stone, like them, the children you freed. You are now in the room where you get your second chance. You are greeted with a child made of pure light. You help them get up and hug them. You are now merged with theyre light. Now you start flying to orbit. Orbit is the sun, along the way, you meet the spirits youve freed. And it takes you a stepback to what youve achieved. Light. You fly towards the sun, and reborn. Thats where your real journey, finally begins.

You collect little bits of wax to makencandles and send them as gifts make freinds w/other players and learn expressions from spirits in the world. You can learn advanced expressions from spirits by giving them candles and outfits and capes with hearts that friends can give you. and there's little glowing kids throughout your journey, you collect them to give you strength bit by bit so you can fly around. my explanation doesn't give this beautiful game justice, the music is great too. Nastymold has some great guides on this game. I hope you're able to check this game out. it's fun even if you play just once.

THIS!!! this has to be THE MOST perfect sky animatic i’ve ever seen, its just soo powerful?? i feel this is the perfect way to introduce new players to sky (although there are spoilers) and it also perfectly reflects the journey of all the sky veterans 🥺 as a sky player for almost one year, i’m so happy this exists and we NEED to hype this up more !! every second of it is perfect i was almost brought to tears in the vault part with the mantas and elders, it reminded me of when i was a moff 😭

I know! My first time making it to Eden, I was in a group of five, and I was the second to last person left at the end. Me and the last person made it all the way to the open field where you can’t make any more progress, and I realized something was going on. It was one of the best reveals of my gaming life. Can’t wait for the new moths to see it for themselves.

As someone who beat the game multiple time got every spirit and lit every candle (that part was hell btw) I agree that this game is truly special to anyone who has played.
My little sister grinds the ever loving shit out of this game, and while I am a far far *far* more casual player of Sky, it's still so fun to play it with her. I recently got my sister into sky and hearing her bird call honk is so nostalgic to me from when I was a moth just starting 2 years ago
I made it through the storm for the first time today, and there was something so beautiful about when my two companions died and I had done everything I could to rescue them. It was like realizing all at once there was no making it out of there, that was the whole point. That my mindset switched from "I want to beat this level!" to "I want to do the most good I can right now" knowing I wasn't going to make it out, not knowing if that was actually the point of the game, wondering is there anything else after this? And then when it finally did end, there my friends were, standing right next to me, waiting to fly through the ending with me. DID I CRY A LITTLE? Yes. Was it perfect? Yes.
I felt the same way. The first time I went through Eden I had no real idea what the objective was. My gamer instincts told me to just put my light into every fallen sky kid (statues) and get as far as I could with the others there who I didn't even know. I went back and forth trying to make sure everyone made it. Obviously we all still died but seeing them flying with me in the end and meeting at the reborn area was beautiful.
If anyone new wants to play Sky, as someone who's played for over a year now, definitely go for it! There's a lot you can do, learn music, explore, make friends, collect cosmetics, and more! It might be a little hard if you have noone guiding you but there's a lot of guides on KZhead! Hope this helps :)

@@fantaoramge yes and no! Eden is the last 'level' and when you complete it you loose all your winged light but you get eden candles that you use to upgrade friendship and spirit trees! It's a little of a repetitive game, go collect winged light, go finish eden and so on.
I have been playing Sky for about a year and 9 months, ever since the start of the Sanctuary Season. Never have I thought this small game, who has been in the sidelines gaining a small, yet loyal community, would get noticed by such a big creator as this. I can't wait. You have one of the most beautifully animated stuff on here, at least to me personally. Edit: Time corrections.

I unfortunately made the mistake of thinking you just drew the games trailer because I saw theirs on the games store first. Luckily I found out the truth relatively quickly. I should have known you made the original with how epic the music was and the amazing scenes playing out.

This is a very cool take. On many of the other animatics, they capture the serenity of the game. Your’s captures the fear of *not being able to afford the TS-* I MEAN, UH, Yes, the eerie aspects. I’m going to be so happy if I see some new moths coming in saying “I found this game through sadist!” this brought me back to the first summer this game came out. Looking back, everything was so *new* and terrifying! Eden was a living nightmare. But the gameplay was.. exhilarating? Refreshing? Edit: I found someone in sky who watched the animation

I am very happy that more people are going to be able to know sky because of this video :D Though I hope our small but friendly community doesn’t grow to have a bad side because of how many people are starting to play the game. I like sky a lot because there you can find very nice people. But as the game’s popularity starts growing, so is the chance that “bad” people find the game and ruin the experience for others.

I absolutely got chills watching this, I started sky around the end of Season of Rhythm, and it was one of the prettiest games Ive ever picked up. Its relatively simple game, theres no missions or fights or anything like that, and i think thats why it quickly became my comfort game. Theres nothing to trigger my competitiveness but I can still be able to communicate with people and enjoy sceneries. When I was at my lowest I opened sky and just sat down in Daylight listening to people play music, it felt like im never alone. No words were spoken cause I didnt get to add anyone as I didnt candle run, but just communicating throught emotes and honks was fun enough, I just love this game and i come back just to explore the seasons i missed every now and then, Thank you so much for this masterpiece SADist, im gonna go open sky now lol
Honestly I felt the same way. Sky gave me a lot of comfort for me and my friend who had a lot of mental troubles. Although it was kinda ruined for me because my friends boyfriend started emotionally abusing her through the game so now we're both traumatized. 😓 But before that I played so much to cope with stress haha

Good to see That Game Company getting recognition after all these years. When Journey released I was worried that they might not achieve very much success again. But when I played sky for the first time a few years ago I could see that that wasn’t going to be the case. The community built around this game is unique and seeing you make this will bring more recognition to the game no doubt. I’m anxious and excited to see what this new surge in the community will bring.

Sky: Children of the Light is one of my FAVORITE games, and I'm so happy to see such an incredible content creator like you give it the cinematic love it deserves!! I absolutely adore that you included the snow racing part of the game! It's such a small part, but I remember seeing the snow hills and going "They better let me slide down those things like I'm snow boarding". This game is so much fun to play with a group, even if you don't know the people you're playing with! It's a beautiful world that's easy to indulge yourself in, and I'm honored that such a talented animator has made some content for it. You really are a gift to every community you touch.

@@OfficialSuperComiks It is indeed a game! The community isn't that big, but it's essentially a fantasy game. It's a bit short if you don't want to 100% it, but the visuals are quite literally out of this world. If you're big on the giant glowing mushrooms, floating jellyfish, and star whales type of fantasy, then this is totally the game for you! I couldn't stop smiling every time I unlocked a new area, and it isn't a super challenging game. It's not even expensive! I highly recommend it. 10/10 game.

Seeing someone animating what it felt like to play this game for the first time, was beautiful. They way it suddenly becomes dark and ominous and the end is still something im not used to, even after several playthroughs thru them.

I’ve been playing sky for a while and let me say, when I was finally able to beat the eye of Eden I realized how many people I met who I was with who never made it to the end. I still don’t know who they were, but I hope they’re able to make it one day like I did.

As a Sky veteran, watching this brought back so many memories I had with my old Sky friends. I’m glad that Sky is getting more recognization, it truly is a beautiful game.
