I had a pet bass for 6 years. They do act like dogs. Rest in peace Thurgood.
🙏🐠💙🙋 I believe it...a big fish in a restaurant tank used to get excited when I'd stop to chat him up. We visited for several years. It's sounds crazy but...❤🐠🙏

Thurgood is a great name for a bass.

When I went snorkeling, I couldn't believe how smart and friendly fish are. Us humans are so full of ourselves to believe animals are not smart. This is a beautiful example of a human changing his mind, I love and appreciate this video. Thank you
you should get close to a triggerfish nest or worse a snakehead nest.
@@MusMasi Oh no, animals doing what they're meant to do means they're not intelligent or awesome.
During my first marriage we got 100 gallon saltwater aquarium. And we had two Puffer fish. One of them always got excited when I came home. I would go over and before I would feed them I would tease them at the top of the water not dropping the food in immediately. One day he started squirting me spitting saltwater at me when I teased him too much.
Fish taste good.
U are, I know animals are 🧠 smarts 😊😂😂😅
Stopped bass fishing in the mid 90's. Various encounters and experiences showed me how wonderful and beautiful they are. Fish feel pain. Hooks do lots of damage. Catch and release is no guarantee that they will survive. When you catch a big bass on it's bed, it was protecting it's young. It's just right for me. I feel different about it all.
Thank you.
Fish are so much more personable than people give them credit for!
They're also much more delicious than humans give them credit for!
@@kidfortoday True! I love them both as pets and food 😂
@@kidfortoday GOOD! then maybe a nice sized shark will snatch you up for dinner..

Nothing worse than a jealous fish! Kidding. He’s adorable. 💙💚
Lol it's a first for me... and awesome to behold. 😊

The shot of the fish following you is what technology was made for. Its so amazing the experiences we can share.
Man, I bet you hate to leave him. Prospective, this is the right word !
It must be a good feeling when a wild animal recognises you and enjoys your company
@@RexColubrasAllAnimalChannel Congrats bro, this is a big w for you and Elvis

@@Nelson91616 welcome to social media! thank god we don't give a flying f about likes, that would be hella pathetic.
This, 'Aqua Puppy' changed this divers perception on fishing. Neat. 😊
I was told fish do not have personal thoughts. Now I'm not so sure that was extraordinary to see that especially with a smallmouth bass. You definitely chose to be friends that seems like a personal thought to me LoL 😅😅
There's another fish video here on The Dodo of a porcupinefish staying with his buddy whose stuck in a net--there really is a lot more going on in them than I ever imagined.
You have your own guard fish:)

I believe you're right ♥️😉👍
I do too❤
Yup
Lol no
@@Smrtsk8tr1 If they have a brain, then they're sentient.
One day, maybe the entire world will be this good at coexisting with nature without destruction, exploitation or anything else humanly diabolical! Wouldn't that be the nicest thing ever everyone?
Spellbound.. this fish need to be protected from predator & even other humans. He demonstrated fish intelligence to all new levels. I loved the belly rub part. Fish was claiming his alien friend
You said it perfect! “Aqua-Fish and Alien-Friend” would be a great movie title. 😊
It’s actually real concerning because who knows if some other fisherman comes along and ends up fishing out this man’s friend straight out of the water. 🎣

Amazing story! ❤️ My husband was a hunter for many years until we rescued a baby deer and hand raised her. My husband hasn’t gone hunting since. She changed our lives ❤️ 🦌
When regarded with respect, empathy and compassion, other animals change humans for better. They have this spiritual power over us, not the other way round.
Fish are incredibly interactive with people if given a chance.
What a rad story .. how cute ..
I believe that some fishes are smart
When I was younger we had a Goldfish named Piggy and he lives for about 8 years. He had the neatest little personality and knew when me or my Mom or Dad were there, we would put the tip of our finger in the water and Piggy would get all excited and then kiss our finger! He never did this to anyone else that put their finger tip in the water just us. The day Piggy died we were all so sad because he had become such a part of our family. I think our kitty (who just seemed to know to not mess with Piggy) was even sad when Piggy died. I will ALWAYS remember him 🥹❤️
This is why fishing breaks my heart
Elvis is so smart. And he really loves you as a friend of course.
He really does love this guy. Fish dont usually expell energy unnecessarily if they dont have to defend themselves, their babies or their territory. He clearly thinks of him as family and doesnt want any other fish to get near his human
I hope he never takes this fish for granted, and has kept up with visiting Elvis
AHAHA! That's a fantastic story. aqua-puppy.
Go on GIT! Leave my man alone. ❤️❤️So awesome..
Growing up in the VI, I often worked day charters. We'd moor at the the same moorings. The fish there knew we'd feed them and were super friendly. There was even a friendly barracuda I got to know. On the reef below me was a puffer fish that was a friend named Bette Davis. And around the bend of the reef, we'd free dive down to pet sleeping sharks every morning. Anyone who takes a sec to don a face mask and snorkel can make friends with fish.
100% he’s your aqua-pup.that is absolutely incredible that he finds you every time.
My day is brighter! What a fun, unique relationship. He is certainly protective of you
I have so much more respect for fish now. They’re clearly smarter than we give them credit for. What a cute and wholesome video 🥰
Some species are very intelligent. others are more like bots. the intelligence of bass is how you end up with "pressured" lakes. where the bass are fished for enough that they can better distinguish lures from food and somehow that knowledge gets passed down through subsequent generations. making it far more difficult for anyone to catch them compared to ones that havent been exposed to any of it. whereas this effect doesnt seem to happen with others species in the same lake. its truly fascinating
The most dumb animals I know about are humans
@@starseed8087wow we got a wise guy here
@@starseed8087 Freedom of thought allows seemingly infinite possibilities, including the ability to choose to be severely stupid and degenerate That’s why human babies are so hopeless compared to other animals. They aren’t bots. They need time to grow their immense brains. But chemicals in our consumption here in places like America does turn us into bots. Infertile bots.
@@literallyJOIR Hes right tho…half of humans have lower iqs than monkeys, and most all couldn’t survive on their own without assistance from a grocery store. So technically humans are pretty stupid in the grand scheme of things.
That moment of Jealousy to other fish was just wholesome 🥹🫶🏼
Doddothis is beautiful. Thanks
Fantastic story! I would never expect something like that to happen and not expect a fish to act and react that way. Very funny that the fish chased other fish away from "his" diver.
Aqua-Puppy! This is so incredible ❤
"you don't realize how beautiful and magical this world is until you start seeing it from different perspectives." AMEN, brother.
As I was watching this, images of Finding Nemo kept popping up, "mine, mine, mine" lol 😊
1:52 That's a 'Sly Stallone' side smirk if ever I saw one. LOL! Meet Sly the fish! XD
This happened to me when I was snorkeling decades ago. Fish are intelligent, clearly. Theyare social animals like any land animal, and must therefor exhibit similar behaviors. They've been around for a very long time and inhabit an extremely complex enviroment. It follows that they are a lot smarter than we ever thought. Some fish actually use tools. Many fishes construct their resting spots and nests, just like animals on land. Clearly, they learn quickly and remember what they learn for a long time. That's brains. Elvis Lives!
The bond between humans and fish is magical much like the bond between dogs and humans.
Beautiful story 👍👍
It's just amazing that we can make friends with species' so different from us. But it makes it all the more heartbreaking knowing what we do to wildlife on the planet.
Im glad so many people are being shown that fish are not mindless automatons but are intelligent feeling creatures just like other animals that we sympathize with. I am a dedicated fishkeeper, and have learned so much about these creatures. Most wild fish can adapt to life in captivity within a couple days, some figure out you are their provider on day 1. I see them on the same level as reptiles and birds.
Love ❤️ 😊 😇
I love humans like this, who share all of their wacky adventures with us. It's insane how animals (fish) sometimes act around people. What a joy to watch! 🐟💓👨
what planet are you from?

This is a Red eye Rock bass and they are VERY friendly and act like a house pet by my experience as well
Wow, so it's a bass? Idk They are smart
It's a smallmouth bass.
No it’s a smallmouth bass. They have red eyes
@@thecalfisherWe call them Rock Bass because they seem to always be in the rock piles and Ive hear it for decades so Red eye small mouth Rock bass is its full description

That's one of the most incredible things I've ever seen. Did not know this about fish. How interesting. Very special.
I think that was so cute he wanted all the attention on him. He kept pushing all the fishes away like he's mine go away lol. Yes the river and ocean is dangerous but it can also be beautiful 😍.
I had an identical experience in Bermuda where I would dive in this one bay for old bottles. A small colorful fish would attach itself to the side of my mask when I was moving thru the water. It was always just the one fish (maybe 4" long). Never left my side. I figured he just wanted whatever goodies I would stir up in the sediments, but he didn't really go there. Stayed next to my mask.
Thanks for showing the under water world. Nice pleasant surprise!😊
So cool, hope no one hurts him.
Aqua-puppy!.😂 The world needs to see this. 🌊🌏😆💙🐠🙏 The consciousness we share with animals seems to be ramping up. Beautiful.
I agree Mortal Clown! Maybe they're all trying to tell us - I am you and you are me! Sooo let there be LOVE ❤❤❤
How cute! Wow…this is so awesome and amazing.
This is amazing. The fish is friendly without the need to present food first.
when something waits for us is blessing especially fishes❤
What a beautiful story and friendship.. Hope the fish doesn't ever get caught again.. God bless always.
😂😂😂 omg he's too much! He's like nope, go away!! This is MY buddy.. he's mine, and mine only! 😂😂.. animals never cease to amaze me. He clearly was jealous of the other fishes getting too close to his new-found friend. ❤❤❤❤❤🥰😇
Every time Elvis chased off another fish I just imagined him thinking "Back off! This is *my* human!"
Absolutely magical ✨️
In Northern Wisconsin in a pristine lake, I would dive for crayfish and lift logs. Smallmouth Bass would follow behind and attack the crayfish they saw when I moved the logs. They are smart fish, but usually there is food involved in situations like this. In the video the bass takes a worm right out of his hand...
just plain NICE
Every species any creature on this planet is special to someone. We all have a personality, and we all have a special bond with each other or another species!!!!!!
I love this.❤️
So Precious!!! God Bless You All!!!
I had a an outdoor pond when I was a kid with goldfish. They'd swim up and get belly rubs, they'd lay over your hand until you lifted them up then they'd wiggled out and swim right back into the hand. Fish are Friends ....And Food (I love seafood) lol
You sound like my dad before he got sick--called fish brain food all the time. Thankfully he's doing good now and he hasn't had any meat in 11 months. Anyway have a good one

Very fascinating story on fish behavior.
It's truly amazing how some wild animals just see a human and know that they have found a friend. I someday hope to have something like this happen to me.
What a lovely man! When I got my backyard chickens, it made me re-think a lot . . .😘
Fish are so much cleverer then we take them for granted. They’re seriously such smart creatures and I cannot express how much love I have for them
Man, id love to have this kind of encounter with random wildlife.
When the fish was chasing off other fishies, cutest thing😍🥰
Wow, thank you for sharing!
After seeing this, my faith is strengthened and I'm more sure that the animals on this planet are loved and love us back. I cannot wait til the day comes when we can freely wander the plains of the African Continent without fear of predation or mauling because the lion shall lay with the lamb. Beautiful, absolutely beautiful beautiful share by Rex!
Some of the most pure connections you can have are with wild animals, its crazy when you bond with one
One of the most magical things ever. How special is this?
🍃Magical 😊❤🍃
This would make a very short finding Nemo 😂 It's a special feeling whenever you interact with wildlife especially when they trust you.
Little Elvis has taken it upon himself to show you the majesty of fish so you give up fishing and stay a scuba diver.... When nature communicates w/ you that intensely, you listen. 😁👍
I have a wild lizard that has taken to me like this, unlike the other lizards on my property. I feel honored.
Incredible indeed! You are lucky and blessed to have that bond with the fish .
How very cool... Different perspective is so on point in everything in life.💚
That has to be the best feeling in the world. What a blessing.
We are all sentient beings, insects on up, all deserve a safe, happy life.
It is magic! I think that he’s telling you “ thank you for not fishing 🎣 my brothers and sisters anymore”🙏🙏🙏😇😇😇💕💕💕 🐠 🐟
Fish are amazing sentient beings, each one an individual. If only they were all treated with kindness like this 😔🐟💙
May all fishermen who fish for fun start diving.
many already do
It probably also helps that this guy forages for them!! I watched his tik tok and he'll grab little critters off the bottom to feed to the bass. He now has not just Elvis, but other homies he's named as well, but Elvis is still the one true love story here. It's super cute how they all swim up like "Hey, it's Landfish! What up my duuuude?" like he's made friends with another tribe of people
How cool is this, exciting for the fish but the human going to see if his buddy is there is astounding.. all living creatures are amazing.. 💛💛💛💛💛💛
Very unusual behavior for that fish but also very nice and the diver was so nice in return.
Animals are people too.
