  • Great job Sandro. The owner was lucky to find such a pro.

    • I agree that this owner is lucky to have found Sandro. Going with percentage that Sandro looks for a 95% scratch free in the other way around in percentage only 5% or less of detailers can pull this off.

  • What you said about wanting to give this poor owner his true "new car paint experience" is so spot on, Sandro. It speaks to the pride and care you take in your work, and your understanding of and advocacy for your customers. Truly this customer is no "poor owner" anymore - now he is the PROUD owner of a beast looking like it should!

  • What a great start for this year. We all survived 2020, Sandro uploads a new series with 30 minutes each episode, trashed black ZL1 paint restored with a very satisfying 95% defect removal standard, and a part 3 to be uploaded next week. These videos are very therapeutic, feels like I'm relaxing in a beach while sipping my drink. More clients and high end details to come this year, mate. You've finished 2020 strong. Hoping for more quality content this year. Happy new year, Sandro! Cheers from the PH 🇵🇭

  • Such words of wisdom Sandro. I bought the ShineMate 3/12 and 5/12 cordless polishers after your reviews. One as a kit, the other a skin. They have changed my ability to carry out paint correction. I’m no longer tripping over cords draping cords around my neck and in the three jobs I’ve had since the beginning of December, the ease and confidence with which I approached the work made the process fun again. The consequence was very happy clients who have all booked maintenance details in 8 weeks!!

  • I love your videos bro. I agree with you about the paint on these Chevy Camaros I have a brand new Chevy Camaro 2021 2SS just got it last week and I must say the swirl marks in the scratches are everywhere the car came from Michigan I live in Ohio so it had to be driven up here but the weather wasn’t terrible but it is winter right now so The drive from Michigan to Ohio is like 150 miles 200 miles there’s no way the squirrels and scratches happen during that drive so either the car was sitting out on the lot for the past four months or this is just some of the worst paint Chevy could’ve ever used. Like I said I enjoy all your videos thanks for all the knowledge in detailing you’re dropping on us👍🏼

  • Ohh man.. I want one of those 15mm ShineMate cordless polishers soooo bad! Those machines are beautiful. 😍 I've run into this too. The worst was a black 2013 VW Passat TDI. Hard to cut, near impossible to finish. Even a new Eagle 500 gsm IP wipe would mar. Had to finish it by hand with a foam pad, Perfect Finish and McKee's N914 at 1:8 for a panel wipe, which has saved me many times. I work on a lot of VWs, still never encountered another one quite like that. Great video as always, thanks Sandro! 👍👌✌

  • Well done Sandro the patience that you showed when working out the best pad & polish combination for the Camaro is second to none. This Camaro by Chevrolet is imported from the USA and then converted to right-hand drive and remanufactured by HSV in Australia and sold via by HSV dealers. That provides 3 different groups of people (Chevrolet in USA, HSV - Australia and HSV Dealers) that the Camaro goes through before it is sold. So anyone of three could have caused the terrible paint finish. Looking forward to Part 3 of the series and the final result.

And that one still took longer than needed. The rest I could tell where slammed threw a brushed car wash and dried like garbage until sold. Which is also normal here in the States...

  • YES, recent GM black paint is definitely super soft!!!! The worst, but you are the BEST!!! Car looks AMAZING! On a side note, the combo of Rupes DA white pad and Uno Pure, on both soft black paint systems I've used it on, finished WORSE than Rupes DA yellow and DA fine polish. Glad I saw the same results as you.

  • The condition of this cars paint is absolutely commonplace for Chevrolet dealerships these days. They take absolutely zero precautions taking care of them. It’s even worse for showroom cars, as they constantly dry wipe them with whatever old rag they find and a quick detailer. Purchased 2 new Camaros and a Corvette the last 3 years and all looked like this.

    @ninetres187@ninetres1873 жыл бұрын
  • Having worked at a new car dealership years ago the first thing I thought after seeing the decon and inspection video and this one was… showroom car. I worked in the detail and body shops and we would prep a car for the showroom only to walk through and see sales guys wiping dust off of them with red shop rags from the service department and even paper towels. 🤦‍♂️ This being a specialty model it probably sat in the showroom for some time prior to purchase. I saw showroom cars look this bad or worse with less than 10 miles on them.

  • Buff and Shine Uro-Fiber or more likely their Uro-Wool, I bet would have been a good combo. Before you said it my opinion is it was a Re-Spray as well. I would call Brian at Apex Detail and he will know for sure what type of paint this car has usually off the showroom. That’s if you want to take it that far in understanding what happened to it. I bet he will know if it was factory OEM or possibly was a Re-Spray or something else even. One last thing, you’ve forgot more about detailing than myself and probably even most other detailers. The area you reside in is lucky to have you as your professionalism and attention to detail is extremely admirable.

  • Wow such an amazing job! I can tell how frustrating and difficult that paint must be and i am sure it was much much worst but you did such an amazing job that you made it look like it was an easier paint. Not very many detailers would get that great of a result and if it were my car i would be pissed off with the manufacturer. I would probably do way too many coats of a ceramic (probably like 4 coats of CQuartz UK lol) just to make sure it doesnt give me a headache all the time

  • Outstanding Sandro! You’re dead on in your comments about the horrible cheap paint on that car. Seems as though ALL manufacturers are going as cheap as possible on the paint and especially on the clear coat! But the price continues to rise! In the end for them it’s all about quantity not quality!

  • Greetings to beautiful Australia! I‘m having the very same issue with a glossy Black 800HP 2013 Camaro Performance at the moment. Butter soft paint. Unbelievable!

  • 100% agree with you on your good attitude towards the buyer/owner of this ZL1. Not anyway should they have to put up with mess on the finish of that car. Demonstrator or not, you are buying a brand new car and the experience of that should reflected that on the day they picked it up from dealership. Not that the value of a vehicle shouldn't have anything to do with the experience but a ZL1 is what I would call an high priced vehicle. Not what you would call a cheap and cheerfull run about anymore is it. One more thing to mention is, yeah I don't think I would buy a black vehicle anytime soon. I could not be bothered with the hassle.

  • I’m going thru this same situation currently with my recently purchased 2019 black ZL1 Camaro. I bought it used with only 3,750 miles and the paint looked as though it had been washed with sandpaper for years. This is my first attempt at paint correction so it’s quite the job for me!🤦‍♂️

  • Sandro. would be interesting too test paint thickness on another ZL1. one possible scenario is that GM had an issue in the paint process and painted it twice.

  • I dont know for sure but i think that the "break in period" for the pads is also present on the menzerna pads for like first 2 sections it shed some small particless🤷🏼‍♂️

  • That is truly a awesome job you did and it looks great. GM isnt the only car company taking short cuts and cheaping out. I have 16 Mustang GT and no matter how careful i wash it all my hard work disappears after a few wash's. Ford sprays all 3 coats, primer , base and clear while they are all wet and the clear is stupid soft.

  • Sandro, I'm not surprised that a new car demo would look like that, but for them to hand over the car in such a condition is just disrespectful. Demos at my work are washed by an outside contracted company. All they do is rinse, wash with a stick washing mop, and rinse down quickly, they get paid per car and do not care what kind of wash job they do. The fact that dealership detailers do not care or have the skills and knowledge to produce a beautiful looking car to a customer regardless if it has 5km or 500km is also disrespectful. It's sad dealership detailers get such a bad rep but I am also not surprised why, however there are some of us out there that do our best to provide a perfect looking brand new car as it should be.
