PilotEdge is a subscription based live Air Traffic Control add on for aircraft simulators. In this video I program the Garmin G1000 to fly the final instrument scenario for PilotEdge, and I fly and pass the I-11 rating.
I am flying the Bonanza G36 in Microsoft Flight Simulator
Kind of enjoy your stuff. I do got value. Nice flight
Thumbs UP! Mid 50s age private pilot here researching flight sim hardware and software. I have an old school skill set and want to learn and practice in a modern C172 or similar aircraft to understand the current technology available. Is a PC simulator worth the investment to provide training and gain knowledge that is directly transferrable to the real thing? If I invested into a simulator setup similar to yours or comparable, could I learn how to use the the glass panels as they work in real life? Would all of this help me get to an instrument rating by exactly duplicating function in a modern GA plane? I guess I should have asked if the actual equipment function and procedures in the sim are the same as real life, and not differ as to have to unlearn anything in a real plane. Mooney trip with your Dad was awesome, great memories to last forever. Thanks for sharing!
The sim is good, and the avionics are close, but no you would not want to use it for actual training. Enough differences from the real thing exists.
What timing! I'm working through my I's and will be taking this on shortly.
Thanks for posting this video. I enjoyed the detailed instructions on the G1000. How did you set up audio when talking to PilotEdge, is this something they supply?
Yes you download PilotEdge software
@@RMAG thank you
Do you have your specs and settings posted anywhere?
