Truett Cathy was a C student. When he decided to get serious about his future, he opened a diner with his youngest brother. Only two years later, he lost him and another sibling to a plane crash. And later, his diner burnt down in flames.
He was forced to take out a loan and start over. He took his mother's fried chicken recipe and created Chick-fil-A: an $11 billion dollar fortune.
This is the story of Chick-fil-A.

He was the breadwinner as a teenager, so I wouldn't have expected nothing less of man of his stature..
Love the fact that chick fil a closes on Sundays and still come out beating major competitors!

Thank you. I remember when I was in Marietta Georgia I loved the sandwich and sweet tea. I wrote a letter as a new Christian addressed to Mr. Cathy and he sent me a signed book with Proverbs 22:1. I will never forget that.

That was his favorite verse. He instilled it in each of us. I still have the framed verse he gave me when I purchased my first car (with his help by matching my money), on my desk at work. Miss him greatly

I remember the small Chick-fil-a’s in the malls in the 80s. There were always lines. My family was poor and we never ate there, though. It wasn’t until I was an adult that I ate their food.
I remember the 1980s when Chic Fil A was only in malls. I thought it was weird that a fast food place was only in malls and couldnt understand why they didnt have a restaurant outside of a mall
Ooooh

It’s because there true Christians they act how Christians should

Chicken Fil A is awesome! Im songlad he closed on Sundays. Its reverent, & cool. Employees were given Sundays off, very cool. I'm a Christian so I i appreciate that.
Chick fil A isn’t a person,They closedown on sundays as a old rule as they need a break atleast for one day I really wouldn’t call it cool as every job other then fast foods places give you off on Saturday and Sunday
Why would a Christian appreciate getting Sunday off?

That was the preferred pronunciation at one time, but it seems to have changed in the early 20th century. There are recordings of a Civil War veteran made around 1909 where he talks about "Sow-thern rights".

HILARIOUS
colonel sanders from KFC was sort of homeless.
@@mf5531 Dave Thomas of Wendy's was adopted
Not only homeless but even surviving the great depression but its becoz fast food was poor peoples or not so rich food at that time, coming in ordering and then eating it even if you have to stand but tge rrich used to go to resfaurabts with wine and all. Ever wkndered why fast food not include such drinks becoz its just not like that. Thats is why fast food and yes it costs too low even today to open your own fast food kiosk or stall rather compared to a fancy restaurant or cafe. Plus rich of those time used to had hotels restaurants then why they need to open fast food shops. Think of it.
What an inspirational story!

I like how the have people at the drive through, instead of a speaker you talk into, and also definitely how they manage to merge 3 lines into 1 !!

The most important aspect of this "story" was overlooked, and it's about how Mr.Truett gave his heart and soul to Our Lord Jesus Christ and didn't find the real success of his business side until after he was blessed by the lord for his devotion. You see You'll never learn how to find your full potential in life until you give credit to the very one that holds your successes in his hand...your creator. Give your heart back to Jesus Christ and he will reward you....Forever.
