Proves once more a great defense will handle a great offense 9 out of 10 times. Really the Washington offense was one dimensional. And when your defense gives up 303 yards rushing.....lights out. This 15-0 Michigan team is the best I have seen in 50 years of following the Big Ten conference.
The last time Michigan shared the championship in '97, I was only 6 years old. This is the first time in my lifetime that they have been the sole champion. What a wonderful day valiant.

A good defence with some home run hitters on offence is tough to beat imagine how demoralizing it is to get pounded on offence then the other team rips a huge run and scores in 3 plays

I was at the App St. game in 2007. It has been tough as a fan for a long time, but never gave up on them. Incredible to see this after so long. GO BLUE!
Still to this day I refuse to look at anything pertaining to THAT game. I literally read the title “A House brought Down.” And I knew we lost. Don’t need the highlights on that one! Oh living with that loss, I actually had people calling to ask if I was ok! No I was not, but life went on! Now look! National Champions!!!!!!! Go Blue!!! Go Blue!

In the past 25 years, Michigan has had teams with better individual talent: Tom Brady, A Train, David Terrell, Drew Henson, Chris Perry, Braylon Edwards, Chad Henne, Mario Manningham, Mike Hart, Denard Robinson, Jabrill Peppers, Aidan Hutchinson, etc etc etc., but this was the best TEAM that the Wolverines have ever fielded and coached by the best coach they've ever had. What a dominant defense from week 1 all the way through to the national championship game. If only the players and coaches who are capable of coming back would return and try for a repeat, like most college players and coaches did in the old days.
Uh, Tom Brady wasn’t that great at Michigan. He was alright, but not super noteworthy. He had one noteworthy game.

People can blame Lloyd now, but it was Lloyd who saw something in Tom that nobody else could. He was VERY uninspiring in most games. History knows the whole story now that it’s played out, but don’t be fooled: Tom didnt become the goat until the NFL.

I count him among the greats because he engineered Michigan to a BCS bowl game (which they won) and made plays in all the big-time games he played in against ND and in the Big Ten. I'm not throwing him in there for his NFL career. There's nothing wrong with letting the running game do the work and making winning plays when needed because that's exactly what J.J. McCarthy did, and he's also among the Michigan greats.

It was a colossal mistake for Washington not to take the ball first at the start. When you have a talented offense but questionable defense, take the opportunity to score first and gain the momentum.
