BEST SUPPLEMENTS for ENLARGED PROSTATE!
Did you know that nearly every man gets prostate enlargement at some point in their lives? In this video I explain why one common prostate supplement won’t shrink your prostate, plus give you 2 supplements that may be more powerful than drugs for shrinking an enlarged prostate. If you have prostate enlargement you don't want to miss this video!
Having trouble finding lycopene supplements for prostate health?
We had many viewers reach out after our series on lycopene asking for a high-quality, affordable lycopene supplement. We also had trouble finding one (I'm a doctor, not a supplement guy), so for the past several months we've been working on sourcing one with the highest quality and 3rd party testing. It will be ready soon (takes longer than you'd think), but if you are interested in lycopene or other supplements we invite you to check out our new store-

This has been very helpful. Very clear, and understandable. Im 74, & take zinc, lycopene, and beta sitosterol every day. My last PSA was 4.9, which I am good with. Thank you for speaking so clearly, and directly. God Bless
Much appreciated!!
Thanks for exploring the biochemistry of this ...
Hats off to you Doc. Your the first to share this type of details around BPH with recommendations, and I’ve been reaching out to a lot of MD’s/ or so called professionals for sometime now. Greatly appreciated.
Hi Bob, thanks for the props, and thanks for watching!
Thanks for the information. Very interesting. I don't have prostate cancer but my friend does, so I the link to him. You're doing wonderful work and I wish you all the very best.
This is great advice.
~ Saw palmetto ( standardized ) keeps me out of surgery. 9 years 👍
Thank you so much! Best video on the topic on KZhead to date. Short and concise.
Wow, thanks!
Seems it's not possible to find 500mg of Lycopene for sale
Hi thanks for your question. I left a link in the description - lycopene at this dose has been studied but is hard to find so we’re working on a version (not quite ready yet but soon!). Thanks for watching!
Great info!😊
Glad it was helpful!
Love that synergistic effect! Great info, Doc! And the amounts and frequency of intake are really helpful. So glad I subscribed!! 🙏
Awesome! Thank you!
Thank you for your succinct and informative presentation. I’m sure all who are here appreciate what you do.
I appreciate that!
Absolutely the best I have seen and experienced for solutions and I am putting into action ! Thank you Dr Clayton!!!!!
Wonderful!
Great presentation! I am taking Saw Palmetto and Stinging Nettle.
Excellent video with great animated graphics along with a clear, concise delivery of information. Keep up the good work! I take 15 mg Zinc Picolinate and 60mg of Beta Sitosterol from Pure Encapsulations. Your LycoPowder will be the highest (750mg) on the market. There must be 1000 tomatoes in every capsule! I am taking 30mg now 3x per day. Your advice is excellent, and I (72 yrs old) am seeing excellent results in symptom improvements. Combined with diet and exercise, this is the natural way to maintain a healthy prostate.
Congrats on your success! Thanks for the feedback! I spent two weeks working on that animation, so really appreciate it. Glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for sharing.
@@drdaveclayton It was worth the effort. That animation was very valuable in helping all of us understand the working mechanism of zinc absorption and the conversion process of T to DHT via the 5-alpha enzyme.
Where do you get those doses? Beta-Sitosterol is usually available in doses of 375mg to 1,000mg. This video suggests 60mg per day divided into 3 doses. Lycopene is the opposite extreme. Lycopene comes in doses around 10mg to 25mg and this video suggests 500mg.
@@gregpearson4962 Pure Encapsulations is 60 mg - that is the one I take. You are correct - Lycopene is found 10-30 mg. This doc is marketing a 750 mg product on his website - the link is in the description.
Question: Testosterone in aging men converts to DHT; DHT binds to prostate receptors and stimulates BPH growth; therefore, DHT is bad, and the goal is to 1) inhibit DHT production and 2) block the receptors it binds to. Young men in their twenties have higher testosterone/DHT than aging men in their 60s. Therefore, young men are candidates for BPH way before older men, right?
Thanks David. That’s really very reassuring, measured and informed advice. Appreciated. Keep them coming. God bless
Thanks, will do!
PubMed has a few studies showing that Nettle Root (NOT the leaves) combined with Pygeum Africanum are also beneficial. Not sure about the biomechanism, but I can say that this combo works for me. Could you comment on these supplements for the aprostate. Also, is it safe and effective along with Betasitosterol and lycopene?
Thanks for this information. Reduction of zinc absorption specifically in prostate cells is new info for me. Any research being done on how to resolve the prostate cell's zip protein disfunction? Getting more zinc into the prostate cells where it can be of benefit seems like it would be a game changer re: prostate issues!
I’ve been drinking 6-8oz tomato juice/day based on one of your previous videos; It seems to be helping and working. As far as zinc goes, everyone is different and everyone’s requirements are unique; I’ve found the best (and perhaps only) way to be accurate about dosage is through kinesiology or muscle testing; find a good practitioner and get these levels tested to find your unique dosage….thanks for the great info, Dr. Clayton….
Glad to hear that the daily tomatoes are working for you! Thanks for the feedback...
I would suggest drinking a low sodium version - V-8 has a low sodium version. Regular tomato juice has a huge amount of sodium in it. Bad for the blood pressure.
Thanks Dr 👍👍👍❤
Most welcome 😊
You’re the Best Doctor 😍
Thank you for your kind words.
Thank you for this very informative, useful video. 👍👍👍 I sure wish you could be my primary care physician, Dr. Dave. When I meet with my doctor to discuss a health problem, he almost always has a prescription drug for me to take for the problem. He's aware of natural medicine when I propose natural treatments; he even advises me when I lead him down that road. Sometimes I get the feeling that he is told to follow a pharmaceutical formulary treatment method by the people who run the medical group. Do you have any advice on how to find a physician who specializes in a combination of traditional, natural, and lifestyle medicine? 🤔
Appreciate the kind words. I like doctors who bill themselves out as Integrative Medicine. They generally have the right approach. Thanks for watching 👍
@@drdaveclayton Very good, I'll be moving soon and need to find a new doctor. I'll look for an integrative medicine doctor during my search. By the way, I ordered both the potassium and lycopene supplements from your site. Look forward to receiving them soon. Thanks again! 😊
Any benefits from pumpkin seed oil .
Hola,,,, whats your thoughts on stinging nettle root....if itz any good , what varieties are best......cassidy
The root is best for the prostate, the leaves purify the blood, with multiple benefits!!
I will try the Lycopene and B-Sitosterol and let you know in 4-6 mos. Thanks for the info.
Sounds good!
An excellent presentation and slides particularly from the cell biological aspect. I think the problem here is the fact that there are so many different companies producing these supplements so it would be an immense help to post recommended products for all. Besides one cannot be aware of the purity of many products. Posting your recommended links would also standardise results. Many thanks, Dr R.
Thank you for your question. Lycopene at this dose has been studied but hard to find. We had many viewers reach out with the same difficulty as you so we decided to create our own high quality lycopene supplement. Please visit www.shopdaveclaytonmd.com Thanks for watching!
TY so much. Very grateful for the outstanding information you provide. Very grateful. 🙌💯
Thank you very much David. Great advice Sir.
Glad it was helpful. Thanks for watching!
Thanks to your videos I found out about Lycopene. Very helpful information, since nobody here in Germany has ever heard of its benefits regarding BHP. Unfortunately 500 mg of this supplement is nowhere to be found , the highest dose available is 40 mg which is a far cry from what would be beneficial. Even in the US I couldn‘t find a product online that comes even close to this dosage.😢

Look up Bulk Supplements for Lycopene powder form.
Sir please tell does creatine cause hair loss if you have androgenic alopecia. I have read the rugby player study but if the person is on finasteride or dutasteride will it still effect ❤
I watched a video recently from Thomas Delauer on the Creatine hair loss myth , the guest was dr Peter Attia and NO Creatine does not cause hair loss …..
Hi, Doc. How about combining Lycopene and Saw Palmetto with Finasteride for a triple effect would you say?
awesome, let food be your medicine and medicine be your food
Absolutely!
Might vit K help with restoring transport of Zn into prostate? By reversing any calcification / sclerosis?
i took finesteride for a couple of years and saw great improvement in prostate symptoms, urine flow increased and semen discharge returned to normal.. i then developed a lump on my left breast with nipple soreness. stopped finesteride... lump and soreness disappeared. waited a few months, resumed finesteride and lump with soreness reappeared. stopped finisteride second time soreness and lump disappeared. now 3 years later im beginning to see urine flow issues return. was finisteride a female hormone stimmulant?... will your 2 supplements have a similar estrogene reaction?... the other prostate prescriptions we tried had no affect (names uncertain).... thanks.🎉
Great video. My psa has been .80 for 15 yrs but still have enlarged prostate. I’ve taken these along w good diet/exercise. Will try at doses recommended to see if it helps. Thanks for the insights!
Thank you for watching!
If I don't take lycopene supplements, how much watermelon or tomato juice do I need per day? Thank you and thanks so much for your advice!!
Great question! I cover that in an earlier video - kzhead.info/sun/qKeElNqMeGqfkqc/bejne.html Thanks for watching!
To me it seems likely that if B-sisosterol inhibits binding of DHT to the receptor on the prostate, that it would also inhibit binding of DHT to the same receptors on other muscles. Please prove me wrong, I would like to try it but I do not want to systemically inhibit the binding of DHT to my muscles.
Heard that tomate paste is better than lycopine in supplement
Good point! I always go for food first as well. Nature knows best :)
Thanks ❤
You're welcome 😊
A confusing thing is that the dosages mentioned in this video are way different than typical doses available on the market. Beta-Sitosterol is usually available in doses of 375mg to 1,000mg. You indicate 14 mg of Lycopene per day but then I also see 1000 mg per day? Others have indicated.5 mg per kilogram of body weight…? What’s the best dosage per day??? Thanks for your time & information.
Fair comment Dr but regarding Saw Palmetto,I believe if you suffer from high blood pressure this supplement is not for you as it can raise your blood pressure,am I right on this.🤔
HI and thanks for your presentation. Many products of Saw Palmetto seem to contain larger doses of Beta-sistosterol - 400mg, much higher than the 20mg x 3 per day you mentioned. What is your feeling on these higher doses? thanks
I'm not aware of any adverse effects from sterols, and they have many health benefits including lowering cholesterol. You may like this video as well where I cover sterols in more detail - kzhead.info/sun/eL6beqeJkZd7n4U/bejne.html Thanks for the question and for watching :)
So if red light therapy activates the crab cycle. It would be bad for your enlarged prostate?
Not sure if anyone has studied red light therapy for prostate. Interesting question! Thanks for watching!
Crab cycle 😆
Crab cycle 😆
It’s not so much about a large prostate squeezing the urethra than a still prostrate ( not big) influence flow.
Finasteride has side effects. Are there any risks with beta-sitosterol?
What form of zinc would you suggest? I have both zinc picolinate and zinc glycinate on hand. Thanks!
Picolinate is reported to be highly absorbable. I take 15 mg daily. Pure Encapsulations ZINC15.
I recommend Picolinate - most easily absorbed.

How much tomato paste would one need to consume to get 500mg of Lycopene?
3 tbsp; of tomato paste/3 regular size tomato/ half a cup of tomato sauce daily
How High is too high for datly Zinc intake, is 22mg too high. What is excessively high?
500 mg Lycopene seems far more than anything I can find online. Most are sold in increments of 50mg or less. Did I see that correctly - are you saying 500 mg Lycopene - twice/day??

Is lycophene available over the counter,or you have to get fromm food source?
This zinc should be bounded with the amino acids.
500 mg of lycopene? That's a whopping huge dose. Most lycopene supplements serve up 40-50 mg per serving and it isn't cheap. Is there a more cost effective source of lycopene that won't break the bank? Is tomato paste a possibility?
Cooked tomatoes are high in lycopine 👌
Yes, tomato paste is a great option. We create a high dose lycopene supplement due to our viewers having the same concern as you. Please check out www.shopdaveclaytonmd.com.
Lycopene 500mg 2x daily = 1000g. This dosage seems awfully high as the supplement sizes I've found online range from only 10mg to 50mg each. That would be downing 1/3 of a bottle of supplements a day. Seems awfully high.
Hi thanks for your question. I left a link in the description - lycopene at this dose has been studied but is hard to find so we’re working on a version (not quite ready yet but soon!). Thanks for watching!
@@drdaveclayton Thank you for the response and I look forward to this version of Lycopene. Similarly, there don't seem to be B-sitosterol supps without many added ingredients.
