This is a perfect example of the way a bad wheel design can completely ruin the look of a good car.
Every single of those EV wheels that increase range, look horrible. Teslas designs are awful aswell. Id rather have normal wheels and lose a bit of range.

Edit: I have finished watching the vid, and after laughing loudly 3 times on the bus on my way to work, complete with being stared at by my fellow passengers (who either thought I was having a psychiatric episode or wanted to know what I was laughing at), I must reiterate what I have said previously. You guys have such amazing on-screen chemistry and, while the content quality is very high (even on throttle extra horse), I primarily watch for your banter and sense of humor. You two are the best thing on KZhead!
Wholeheartedly agreed. They manage to perfectly present the banter dynamics of true friends at its best. Even if I have zero interest in a given car they review, I watch for the pure entertainment. We are truly blessed to have such wonderful content.

I love Thomas' analysis. it's so valuable. the only other big reviewers who would talk with as much detail and finesse about dynamics and balance at the limit, specifically the ones that you really want in a sporty car, are Mark and Jack at Savagegeese.

Good video 👍 I have seen and read several reviews of the RWD Taycan from N. America and Europe where they much enjoyed the car. While I trust those reviewers, I also trust your view on it, so I will try to understand the different opinions. Firstly, I think that the wheels and tires choice, as well as the multiple chassis options certainly make a huge difference. Those 19" wheels, besides being unexplainably ugly for me, apparently come with less sporty tires. Then you have all the Porsche options for suspension, rear steering, etc. So this combination that you tested looks more suited for plain highway driving. Then, for driving fun perhaps you prefer the typical FR (eg. Miata) or even MR (eg. Toyota MR) layout of ICE cars. I think it is very hard to have exactly that same type of handling balance and response in EVs due to the low mounted batteries and CoG. Maybe we will get there with smaller EV sports cars and much lighter batteries in the future!

I agree to your review, well done! I wanted to lease a base Taycan as my business car - I really wanted to. I could so much feel the weight too. It's not a sports car, its not a GT (lack of range). It's a great car but was not for me and I love Porsche.
I laughed so hard when you talked about the New Yorker shouting at the Camry for not going bc i'm a Cali transplant who started driving in NYC and the NYC impatient demeanor definitely rubbed off on me lol

Taycan is the closest I've come to switching to EV so far, particularly that Cross Turismo model. I think I'll still wait a few years though to make the switch, give them some time to improve charging time and range with EVs in general.
In my opinion just need more chargers. At least in my area. Range and charging time are acceptable to me on my model y. I save quite a bit of time on a day to day basis with home charging and not having to go for fuel three times a week for how much I drive. Every morning you have a full tank!! That part is awesome. On a 5 hour drive I'd need to stop for less that 20 mins of charging on the way which I'm happy with. My problem is there's so few chargers where I live that there's a lot of places I just can't travel to. But by the end of this year there will be a couple more chargers going in at critical locations for me!! Right now I need to have another vehicle which I need anyway so no big deal. But I love my model Y
Just get the new tesla plaid. Its faster, better looking, has better range and is a lot safer than this crap

Honestly love to see some videos of Thomas's brother trying to fit in cars that might have trouble fitting taller people I want a Miata with all of my heart and soul but I just don't think I would fit at 6 foot 4
My brother is 6'4 and daily drove an NB. He's super skinny though so he could fit around the wheel. It's a squeeze but you could probably make it work in the ND
The 4S is the sweetspot of the Taycan line. Its loads of fun on country roads. I love Throttle House but PLEASE do not compare the Taycan to the Panamera. The Taycan is way more nimble, feels lighter and handles better. Also the ride is better with air suspension.

the problem is once you want long range the batteries necessary add a lot of weight and cost and size. Building an ev miata with good range will require better energy density. Pray for the new tesla cells to get us a step closer
What kind of feedback from front wheels were you looking for during oversteer in a rear wheel drive car?
Can you mention the options on this Taycan? For example does it have air suspension? Is it the spring suspension that makes you feel the car’s heavy? Also, the turbo s has all the chassis options as standard. If the base taycan has the same options, it should handle as well.

I feel like everything in the dashboard should be touch screen but everything in the center console up to the dashboard should have buttons. I.E. at 6:08 everything below the air vents should have nobs and buttons. Plus, those wheels look like the hub caps you get from Walmart for your old Honda Civic.

I'm glad the Porsche pricing is reasonable in Canada. Have u guys ever looked at the price of the model Y and the Plaid in Canada? The price difference is way more than the exchange. Almost $15,000 more than it should be for the model Y and $20,000 for the plaid. Plus we have to pay another 11% on top of all that. WTF Tesla????

Guys, if you´ll come to Germany one day, spend a day at the Nuerburg-Ring. Not for driving, for watching and counting cars. What you will see is: tons of BMWs (most 3 series) and Golf GTIs - plus Porsche 911. But you will (nearly) not see Porsche Macans, Taycans, Panameras and so on. Nearly nobody, except you, goes on a race track with them. The Porsche owner buy the car because the quality, the brand name, the power and because they know that they will win a short race at a traffic light. Btw., it´s the same with Ferrari and Lambo owners - but they don´t like understatement.
