My Thoughts On Update 5.0 & Some Hopes For The Future - Total War Warhammer 3 - Thrones of Decay
We're still a little ways off from showing off the DLC stuff but I do want to talk about the FREE update that will do dropping alongside it. It feels rather good, probably one of the best patches we've had so far. Obviously we can't expect a patch this size every time but there's a little more hope lately. Let's discuss.

Just 1 video today and no stream :) need a little rest before the DLC embargoes but I wanted to talk about the patch as it feels REALLY solid. Have a great Sunday everyone! See you Tuesday!
Hey dude why on earth would you say crap like we don’t need this quality in this in the future. “The future updates don’t have to be this big” “don’t expect this quality in the future” dude wtf are you saying?
Rest up, big week ahead and thanks for all the insight and analysis you've done so far. Never apologise for taking 'you' time!
I like everything in this patch and dlc, it is very close to TWWH2 level in terms of quality and recent TWWH 3 levels in terms of quantity. However, I`m very sad that carmine dragon didn`t got unique model, at least head. Both in tabletop (2011) and on arts it looks quite different than star dragon, at least as forest dragon and balck dragon differ from caledorian dragon in-game. Maybe there will be mods, but still, the first unique flying western dragon in years deserve better treatment, like new ice wyrms and every cathayan LL got in terms of visuals. To clarify, dragons, other mythological creatures and dinosaurs in RTS with realitic battles and buliding scale are the main reason I play TWWH series, and sea battles are the main reason I bought all historical TW games and dlcs except Pharaoh, and enjoyed Man O War: Corsair (the only game about sea battles in WFB setting, sadly abandoned and removed from purchase years ago). That`s why, while I`m very happy with dlc and flc contet overall, carmine dragon head design will be in my "great book of grudges" for sure.
Hi Nathan long time fan here just wanted to get something g to you're attention even tho I think you won't reply to me. So would you think that tamurkhans chieftain mechanic be a cool thing for noctilus? Imagine that mechanic but you're heroes are the dreadfleet maybe you could cover that in a video 🙂(like mechanics that slightly tweaked and ui changed be amazing for other factions) cheers
3 reworks for 3 different races is a lot of work and I am impressed!
Is it tho. Modders are doing reworks for free and these are employees
I am too, but if they make a dlc for three races that need an update; that’s what I expect and what we should expect! Worst thing about SoC is not the paid units and lords and lord mechanics- it’s the lack of free updates to those races!
Temper expectations until you see the bug reports.
Well now we know where the time and money went for SOC.
And that's what DLCs should be.
Thank God they've finally decided to focus on the 99% of people who just play singleplayer. What a difficult business pitch that must have been!
From what I've gathered it's closer to 80% which still leaves a solid multiplayer community...but even if we theoretically flip that ratio around, that would simply say the single player needs heavy work because people aren't enjoying it. And given thats the core selling point of the game and DLC that's a big issue.
Plenty of people in the mp scene though
@@00yiggdrasill00 it absolutely is not 20% of people on multiplayer lmao, I'd be surprised if it's even 5%
@@lorcanman than you would simply be wrong. But hey I don't really care what you believe. You can think what you want
@@00yiggdrasill00u surmise 20% of the player base is multiplayer players from what stats?
Alone the fact that new FLC legendary Lords brings new starting position is enough for me to like FLC Lords more than FLC Heroes.
I'm glad that upper management seem to have listened, but they didn't really have much of a choice given how Hyenas and TW Pharoah went - if they shat the bed with this DLC it was probably the end of the studio. Yes, this is progress for the game, but unless they can keep this level of quality going forward (for more than just Warhammer) they're still going to struggle. That being said, I am happy enough with this quality to buy this DLC.
Hopefully upper management has been fired...
@@giganticbrittle Apparently even Rob is still around, judging by his LinkedIn listing, so I highly doubt anyone in upper management faced any consequences whatsoever.
I could definitely see him being one of the last to go... Or they don't announce he's left the company for some time later with a quality severance. That message he signed was so bad and so conspicuous I imagine he sent it out with a clause saying he couldn't be fired.
I am buying the dlc too its really well made
@@giganticbrittle That would make some amount of sense - I definitely can't imagine that message being written without a secondary purpose, given how unbelievably tone-deaf it was. Either that or CA's higher-ups are genuinely just that far gone. Whatever is going on behind the scenes though, in a less broken, less corrupt world upper management should have been the first ones to go.
Dude stop telling ca they don't need updates of this quality fuck me... Own goal
Yeah, weird take. Very "Please Sir, can I have some less?".
I hope he sees this comment and changes his opinion, because if CA are actually watching this and thinking that he's speaking for the whole community, god damn it... YES we should expect this quality and type of changes and additions from CA as a standard, not some lazy, flavorless bullshit, specifically at this price point.
It's more just to balance them out. Instead of continually, under delivering/over promising that annoys everyone, then they rubber band and put a hell of a lot of effort into the next thing which leaves them in a position, promising that quality will maintain, but due to so much effort going to the last thing, means the new thing flops and we're back to square 1. It's an effort to remain balanced, not not being grateful for such a high quality update.
So far Warhammer 3 was. Release: Flop Warriors of Chaos: Wildly Praises Winds of Change: Flop Thrones of Decay: looking to be wild praises. Just peaks and troughs.
@@BaxstabberzZ Where do the Chaos Dwarfs fall in this, out of curiosity?
3:45 - Excuse me, Tomb Kings being done? *Ahem* High Liche Priest, Tomb Herald, Sehenesmet LL, Nekaph LH, Apophas LH, Khemric Titan, Bastethi, Tutankhanut and his Scythans, Necrolith Bone Dragon
Yeah, Tomb Kings could use an update or an overhaul of some kind and have tons of neat options still. Hard disagree on them being 'done'. I'm not fond of plague mechanics myself and how they have unpleasant/unfun counterplay mechanics for those fighting against them. Though I agree the Lord Skrolk has been left behind, I'm not nearly as happy to see it called out here.
@@Frieth Im personally fine with Skrolk being left behind in the way that he is, Nurgle likes making plagues by experimenting and honestly just fucking around to do neat things, Clan Pestilens just wants kill-kill, so it would make sense that they still have the more min-max method of plague creation. But yeah being on the receiving end suckssssssssssss
I am going to be honest I forgot who the fuck skrolk was for a hot minute but clan pestilence right? @@SharksAndTacos
I do like the size of the updates, and i rather have a good update than a hasty one that barely works. I am happy with how things are going after being majorly pissed off previously.
They'll do Thanquol and Boneripper as the mirror image of Gotrek and Felix hopefully. That would pair well with Skaven updates
eh... while I can see why Gotrek was changed to a Legendary Hero Thanquol is most definitely Lord material, he should not be a Hero and frankly it'd be more appropriate for Thanquol and Boneripper's implementation to be more similar to how Skarsnik and Gobbla or the Sisters of Twilight. in tabletop Boneripper has been implemented in 2 ways, as a mount for Thanquol (literally the same model and they die together) and as a weird bodyguard unit where Thanquol could die seperately but Boneripper would just stop functioning (not even losing control like Rampage, he'd just stand there and do nothing for the rest of the game) if Thanquol died first Boneripper is just so tied to Thanquol that they'd fit more as just an extension of Thanquol than as a seperate Legendary Hero. the most independance I could possibly see Boneripper getting is for it to be like the current Kemmler and Krell situation (now Krell is a case where they should probably be a seperate Legendary Hero) I do think that Thanquol will probably be game 3's White Dwarf FLC but it'll probably end up being more of a Grombrindal situation than a Gotrek&Felix situation
@@Eclipsed_Embers boneripper would probably be a mount. but thanquol as a LL is most likely.
@@minderbart1 honestly I feel like the Gobbla type implementation is most likely. the mount version of Boneripper is the 13th version which Thanquol doesn't get until the End Times. best case scenario they put something in to represent Boneripper's different incarnations. the early Bonerippers just seemed to be fairly plain Mutant Rat Ogres. at least one (which was the first one to get a model) had a 3rd arm with a cannon attached, at least one (the 6th to be exact) was some kind of Clan Eshin Ninja Rat Ogre, and at least one had both a cannon and a sword. also the 7th was just the reanimated corpse of the 1st. I feel like the ideal implementation would be to start with just Thanquol. have the first Boneripper be a Mutant Rat Ogre summon. have Bonerippers 2-6 just be upgrades to that summon, have Boneripper 7 be a "mount" option where Thanquol doesn't actually ride it but the 3-armed version accompanies Thanquol as part of the same unit. have Bonerippers 8-12 be upgrades to that mount option. and then Boneripper 13 can be the 4-armed monster mount that was released during the End Times.
Biggest change i want is throgg damnit. How hard would it be to add all the trolls to the wait for it..... Troll King!
Also 2nd skrolk and new plague mech Toddy as a playable LL just as you described it working for epdy
There’s also the elephant in the room of the 100th legendary lord, since this dlc brings it up to 96? it means the last dlc will be slannesh which could bring it up to 99 meaning the 100th lord special is up next
the slaanesh dlc is not going to come out next, said by various different leakers. I think the next dlc is going to be the monkey king, or the monkey king will be the 100th lord that comes with the map expansion
I think negash would be cool for a 100th LL
@ludwigkoopa3343 That's..... not good. I think shadows of change failed in large part because they had to spend alot of time working with GW to create new content for yaun bo and mother O instead of just adapting existing campaign books like Thrones is doing. There is very little of an existing foundation for monkey king so I worry they will again have to spend more time fleshing out a foundation instead of adapting and release another inferior dlc because of it. I personally don't think it's a coincidence the worst race pack ever, shadows of change, had 2/3 lords specifically created for total warhammer. Tldr - I am wary of any dlc content thst does not have a pre-existing GE foundation to be built upon. (Sidenote- I'd be weird to do monkey King next as Cathay just got a dlc prior to thrones, it would be odd to go right back to them)
Toddy?
I think it’s either slannesh or Khorne! I have a theory that for slannesh it’ll compliment both the vampire counts and the dark elves And for the Khorne dlc It’ll compliment the orcs and and possibly Norsca since they need a redo so badly or Skaven? Cause Skaven be vengeful yes yes! And hopefully in the mix of Dlcs we get the monkey king, dogs of war, Khuresh, Araby, Indy, Nippon, and hopefully Chaos endgame, as well as Nagash. I know a lot to expect or wish for but this would solidify this games endless content and lore wrap up!
they did say they ain't planning any future dlc or update to be as big as this one. so as much as they deserver praise and credit for this succes; we should be worried of a return to SoC quality.
No, they said they will not do this style of dlc again meaning 3 races in one pack...
They can just do less races with the same quality and more frequent, there problem solved
@@shadearca They still have a credibility issue since a lot of what they say turns out to be borderline false. Still waiting for that Tzeentch and Kislev rework that we were promised.
Guessing they meant that they will backtrack a bit and go back to the 2 races per pack as they did in WHII.
I have to admit this is the first DLC I've looked forward to in a while. People are rightly fond of the old factions so this is a well needed update, especially when there is still so much material to draw from. Still hoping and praying we'll one day have Ludwig Schwarzhelm for the Empire with some nutty melee stats.
Well no matter the races any dlc would try it's best. As a fan of Cathay the last dlc started as a disappointment.
This is the only WH3 DLC I even intend to buy. They just haven't given enough value before. This plus the excellent 5.0 update, finally feel like they might be on the right track.
@@Ren99510 chaos dwarfs are good value in my opinion. If you like chaos then the warriors of chaos one too. But shadow of change was a clear miss in the beginning
@@parttimehero8640 Yeah SoC at launch was not worth, the added content makes it good imo. Changebringers go crazy hard
Greenskins could do with a final once over and DLC. For a faction rework I'd propose using Warhammer 2 faction ritual mechanic combined with a dilemma choice between Gork and Mork in order to unlock unique Warbosses and Great Shamans from the 4 major Greenskin clans. Night goblins, Forest Goblins, Savage Orcs and Black Orcs. Give Black Orcs their weapon swapping. Utilize the Warband upgrade mechanic on Orcs so that they can evolve into their larger Big'Un forms and expand the weapon options for Orcs at the same time. Orcs with spears as an example. Finally I'd region lock Goblin chain buildings to climates so that Forest Goblins can only be recruited from Forested regions, Night Goblins from Mountainous and so on. Extra units a DLC could bring could be Black Orcs on mechanical Boars from the Darklands, Arachnarok Sprider with Flinger catapult, Spear chukka, Savage Orc Big Stabbas, Mangla Squigs and or Squig Gobba or Collosal Cave Squig. Forest Goblins should get the Night Goblins Poison attacks and in return get access to a Netter ability.
The minor fixes to lords is an excellent idea. It helps reduce the peak crunch requirements of bigger patches, and some lords don't need an overhaul, just a touch up to bring them in line with the game
The Vampire Coast could borrow from the Gotrek & Felix audiobook "Slayer of the Storm God" and add in some aquatic cultists complete with a sharkman avatar of Stromfels. Also wasnt there an undead skaven captain in the most recent man'o'war game?
I just want Neferata , and done well No Bloodline mechanic for her, since in the Lore all the other bloodlines hate Neffie especially the Strigoi So no access to other bloodlines No access to Strigoi themed units For Mechanics, since she is about seduction , espionage, scheme and politics I think something of a mix of Tzeench and Slaneesh and High elf Mechanics would work You can build Midnight Aristocracies in enemy settlements, these would allow you to build buildings that debuff the enemy factions and Produce Influence You can use Influence to effect that faction - Influence would be unique to each faction The issue is new units There is only really two that are unique to Lahmians Coven throne and Handmaidens so unless GW creates something new , we would be light on theme fitting units
Thank you for focusing on single player campaigns. With a busy work/life schedule it is hard to play online. Really excited for this DLC
This is the first DLC/patch I've looked forward to in Warhammer 3 in a while. I hope CA has taken the criticism to heart and continue to have a customer first attitude rather than trying to fleece us.
hope with the new confederation machinic getting Belegar Ironhammer when actually wiped off the map, means also getting his legendary heroes.
Let’s hope there will be more things to come and have Boris TodBringer playable ❤
Can we just get a fix for Khalidas counter-productive buffs please. She's designed to he a flanker with snake cavalry, but has buffs for her archer line loke shes supposed to stay bsck ejth them. She provides poison attacks to her army, even though her army is designed aeound snakes....which already come with poison
So this is a genuine question, but what made you think that multiplayer was getting a bunch of focus during 4.0?
The whips have been cracking. Poor devs going to need some time off after this one. My gratitude to them is boundless.
Unfortunately I don't know if they'll be getting that much rest if they want to keep up this level of content after SEGA's layoffs.
I do not think this us attitude to take on the people who have denied this level of quality since the release of the game.
Too bad they said 'more DLC more often'. They need to pick up the damn pace already.
@@coaiemandushman1079 they have also said that one of their targets is for future updates and DLC to be much smaller in scope. so we might get DLC more often but we might never get another update of this size again.
@@Eclipsed_Embers if i am not pleased, i won't buy shit. So it's up to them to do high quality dlcs and up to us to pinish them if the quality is too low. I have not bought SoC and i never will, even though Tzeentch is my favourite race
What I need is game supporting Day/Night campaign cycle that worked in it's mod for WH2. Or just include that thing into vanilla game. Can't play WH3 without that.
Hope Norca, Ogres, Vampires and Bretonia get some love in the future as well
Honestly i fell that the game need touch ups but of o stop yo think, a lot of factions only need small things. Tirion and Malakith could get dilemmas and quest to unified there faction, teclis should be a quest to get the cataclysm spells. The only factions that really need a big rework are the vampires counts, norsca and Kislev
Only thing I can think that really needs updating is norsca, they haven't been touched basically since they released
Im super impressed with this update and dlc.
Thanks for the video
Do you have a plan to share anything about changes Festus with all those changes? Is he impacted by those rework at all? (Not by DLC, because this you can share tomorrow, as I remember).
How long will it take before Thunderbarge get nerfed to the ground? I'll give it two weeks before it's bland. Those units should have been so pricy in MP to the edge of memeable, but they rather nerf them to the point that their pointless in the single player campaign they where originally balanced for.
This dlc and update has addressed all 3 of my favorite factions and I could not be happier
Here's hoping the upcoming patch fixes more bugs than it introduces. So far I liked what I saw and I fully expect both the Dwarfs and the Empire to have another DLC in them. Something I would really like to see is changes to landmarks, such as allowing recruitment of affected units. It's still weird that Drazhoath's Infernal Barracks don't allow recruitment of Infernal Guard units to name just one example. I also like the additon of more faction-wide effects and to see more mechanics shared across factions...Oh, and I want more map expansions of course!
Hey Nathan, I greatly enjoyed these videos and looking forward to 5.0. Do you have any insight regarding the in-game missions that were there for every single faction in WH2 Mortal Empires, but are completely absent in WH3 Immortal Empires? There was an immersive overarching narrative when they existed, but without them Immortal Empires plays like a sandbox and nothing more. Is there any chance they will return in the future, with scenarios that set the stage for the End Times?
Crazy how everyone is happy when CA just did what the community asked for
Tomb Kings could do with a dread saurian scale scarab construct
Hey Nathan I'm excited for this dlc and the patch. I'm a bit worried if I heard correctly thr next dlc is no longer slaanesh? If that's correct I hope slaanesh gets additional lords sometime since it's my favorite chaos faction. What are your thoughts or guess as what the next dlc will be or if slaanesh will get more content. Finally any guess if Dark elves or vamps may get a rework before they close the book on warhammer 3?
Tomb Kings and Vampire Coast will probably get some kind of update whenever Nagash happens, since Nagash will necessitate new undead mechanics regardless.
This patch shows that there might be stil hope for the big vampire count dlc that i am waiting for 😱
When can we expect a new roadmap of the next DLCs? Any insight from CA?
Throgg need voicelines update and both him and Wulfric need their own unique mechanic. Kinda see throgg grtting something similar to Rakarth being able to gather monsters from around the world under his horde. Optimally part of a dlc with 4 more lords of other Northern Chaos tribes. Kurgan and Hung mainly both of them having lots of heavy cav and mounted archers well norsca has heavy infantry in Huscarls and Ulfhar which are elite Berserkers wearing wolf pelts, Firmir Belfiend lord, option shieldmaiden hero
Nurgle, they say, is not just the God of decay, but also Rebirth. Let's hope this is the start for CAs rebirth!
I think this patch is the only reason the dlc price is worth it now. All of this, plus what we are getting in the dlc=value. This is what we should expect for future dlcs. COC was similar in its value. I think if CA keeps this up for future dlc, then they will be right back at their best. So I don’t think we should be ok with anything less than this. This is their job and passion for many of their employees. It only makes sense for them to reach these levels of quality/quantity for the future. I think people need to realize that they will return to being scummy and ruining/canceling the franchise if we don’t expect the best from them and stay stern/brutally honest with them. We can’t go back to riding them cause they did one good thing, so let’s just remember that. This dlc is definitely gonna help them get back on the right track both financially and creatively, but they need to keep it up. They did it before with Warhammer 2, COC, and TOD. It’s not like they can’t continue on this path/haven’t done it before. So in a sense, don’t go easy on them. All devs have constrained times and certain budgets, but that doesn’t stop them from doing the best for their games/community. If others can do it, then CA has no excuse. So we gotta stop giving them excuses and riding them. Other games do infinitely harder things for their games, and yet still do them with just as many employees and/or smaller budgets. CA can do this, and hopefully it allows for things like IND/khuresh to come back into the realm of possibilities.
Always voice your opinions about a product, because it is your money on the line. I think we'll have a worth DLC, that been confirmed, future will look bright.
Cathay themed vampire coast lord with generic cathay names for lords/heroes pls.
Lord Skrolk indeed needs its own plague mechanic
All im really hoping for at this point is an update/dlc for vampire counts.
I always called them vampire Cu**s. lol
Haven’t been excited for TWW3 content for a while. Really looking forward to this.
Have they fixed frost wryms yet? or are the attack animations still broken for them?
I would say that CA totally has finacial incentive to update base game factions for TWW1 and 2, like upcoming Dwarf and Empire, and next would be HE, DE, Skaven and Lizardmen. Because game 1 and 2 are basically DLC for game 3 right now with access to Immortal Empire map with just game 3, they can sell more base games if they improve the base game factions. Maybe most players already own game 1 and 2, but some may not, especially from Epic Game Store. It would be different story for base game factions for game 3. I highly doubt they would update Kislev's trashy mechanic, or Miao Ying and Zhao Ming own mechanic, or update Kairos. They have no financial incentive to do so.
Hello first I want to apologize for they spelling English is not My native language but I woul like to make a suggestion about Dragons their attack it should be ranged like other ranged units and whith scaly skin for protection.
Im so happy CA got their sh*t together before a Dwarfs DLC :D Also Im having a lot of fun with the game now. You can feel the game is much better then at lunc.
Really looking forward to 5.0
I hope to see at least a ogre and norsca dlc. Vampire counts and coasts as well
This update has brought me back to the game
So what if (through mods perhaps, later by CA themselves) all nurgle factions would have 3 symptoms to choose from with some better ones, kugath would have 4 + more better symptoms and skrolk would have 2 with better ones or 3 without any bonuses?
Ill believe it when I see it.
I know it releases April 30th, but does anyone know if there will be different release times for different time zones? I just want to know because I have abysmal internet.
Tribes of the north, thas worth the time
Excited for the LONG needed rework.
SHOULDNT EXPECT THIS GOING FORWARD EH?
What about Wulfric? The forgottem imperial LL
I would love to all lord , the rework to Franz and gelt
Can’t wait to play as Josef Bugman 👍
What’s your opinion on taking away Franz’s buffs and upkeep for reiksguard and greatsword units?
They are shit units, so I it's a great buff. There was never any reason to recruit them, so there was no point to have their upkeep reduced.
Franz’s still has buffs for reiksguard and greatsword units, just not upkeep reduction.
@@vojtik135 well I disagree, they aren’t the best but they’re okay. Especially if you go for lower upkeep in campaign but I appreciate the explanation
overall, this patch/DLC looks to be good (I'l lwait to play it myself before I say more about it). but CA sadly continues the trend to make everything new really really strong, even for factions that don't need it. all 3 factions seem to be WAY stronger now, despite the difficulty never being the problem with them. hell, the game is way too easy allready, and yet powercreep is real
now i hope the vamps got the same treatment at some point
When is the update officially out?
30th
@@jamescooke7243 legend! I assume content creators get it sooner
@@sasquash8709 I think they got access to the update of the factions but not the new leaders or units. Something like that
First of all, patches can't be just bug fixing.
Wait so i can buy empire as dlc for TWW3 and play it on immortal empire without 1 and 2 ? or do i still need TWW1 and 2 for Immortal empire mod ?
Depends on the lord. If you want Karl you need to have wh1. If you buy Elspeth you can play her without owning anything else.
Blackrock and Vanguard have too much stock in GW for me to ever put a cent towards the company again.
11.5% combined is too much stock? The chances GW does anything based on their demands is 0%, other companies I can imagine would fold but GW not likely. This whole female Custodes thing seems to originate from Amazon supposedly, big streaming companies seem to have a need to destroy anything they adapt to live action. Only exception One Piece most likely because the author was extremely hands-on in it's creation.
I am impressed, hopefully there release will pan out. They specifically addressed some of the biggest criticism with one patch. If they update a handful of other races the game would be in a very healthy state. You don't even need whole faction reworks like the geomantic web for the Lizardmen but some factions just need the Gelt treatment like the vanilla Skaven lords. There is reason to hope if this is what they can do with their act together.... I just hope they review Cathay, Kislev, and Tzeentch because those base factions are still underwelming or boring.
I am a firm believer that past behavior predicts future behavior & that exceptions do not negate the rule. 5.0 looks decent. We will see how it launches and the future of the series. I don't give passes to AAA studios.
Wise words. They are only trying now becuase the share(filth)holders are angry.
"Multiplayer patches for some reason" maybe it's because people play ot and would like it to function properly? Do you expect them to not care about the MP scene? One of the major reasons I don’t play the MP much is because the factions aren't balanced.
Nobody cares about mp. It's dead
I personally love what they have done for karl franz and gelt. And i hope they do the same for every base character, I am bit sad we have not gotten the similar treatment for dwarf base character and Kugath as far as i know, and it is unlikely we will be getting anything more for dwarfs. I just hope we will get similar stuff for other faction lacking uniqueness. Considering that this dlc they had to done 3 reworks and next dlcs will be smaller probably back to 2 faction i hope they can give similar treatment to Mazdamundi, Malekith, Tyrion and Teclis etc.
I would love if Repanse got touch up, she is by far more fun Bretonnian to play, but she really has new mechanics and would love if she was given a little more. She was my favourite to play until newer stuff came out, but I do think some of the earlier FLC legendary lords should get looked at and improved. I would also like if Aranessa had unique mechanic as she is only non-undead in the vampire coast, give her something to make her unique in that regard.
Looks good, but I reserve judgment and a decision to purchase until after I can verify the stability of the game. I would like not to experience all the bugs from the beginning of 3 again.
If the Vampire Coast don´t need anything because there´s no armybook then the same logic can be aplied to Ind\Kuresh\Nippon
I am exuberant at the stuff I've seen in previews of the patch, but I am also flabbergasted by how Ungrim got no real separate mechanic for his "slayer" Faction, still basically being Thorgrim with a different focus for his main army. I also hope there's some small mentions of Kislev, Cathay and Tzeentch in the patch, as a sign CA will still consider polishing them up despite SoC. Kostaltyn could use something, Miao and Zhao are in the Ungrim basket and Tzeentch's Winds manipulation quickly becomes boring/a chore with large territory.
Dont get your hopes up you will only get disappointed. If CA had any plans at all to update SoC factions they would have done it with SoC or the extra patch for the DLC or atleast mentioned it. They did none of this, there are no updates coming for them.
In terms of new mechanics, it seems to me that the game has a very good library of fun faction mechanics that have been pretty thoroughly vetted, and it's not a bad thing to tweaks, reskin, and port these to other factions. This may fall into the category of DLC discussion, but does anyone think that an Empire faction getting what is, in essence, a reskinned version of Ikit's Lab a bad thing? I certainly have thought "Wouldn't it be fun to play (Faction A) with (Faction B)'s mechanic?", and I kinda suspect I'm not alone in that thought. New mechanics are cool and I hope we keep seeing them. But successful existing mechanics getting a wider spread is also good, and a heck of a lot less work and expense. Am I totally off-base here?
Well, I don't know, I liked the old dwarf technology tree because the new one seems small and useless because I will finish it in turn 70.
That's a base game issue; the game is too easy due to powercreep and a passive AI.
I'll be honest, these showcases have got me really excited for this DLC launch. It's been a long time since I've felt this good about the game. The only thing that gives me slight worry is if we're going to get this kind of patch every DLC, or if it was just a one time "damage control" situation. I really hope that this is a sign of things changing, because DLC like this is absolutely the kind of stuff I want.
I love everything I’m seeing in this dlc. Honestly I cannot fucking wait to buy all parts of it
Am loving most of what the patch is bringing…even if it will inadvertently make A Grudge Too Far that much harder to bear going forward, and won’t change much about the Empire factions I’m actually interested in playing (Markus & Volkmar)…will motivate me to play Gelt for the 1st time at some point though It’s too bad that DLC coverage will consume your life over the next week/month/eternity for one small reason, even though it will be a net positive for the Warhammer Internet Community (WIC) as a whole: SCM Tribes of the North dropped a day or so ago and, while this is certainly not Norsca’s hour, I would have loved for you to spotlight what looks to be a massive, comprehensive mod, while it’s fresh. For now, to the future! (And to being consumed)
Tomb Kings and Vampire Coast could benefit from a DLC too, I disagree with you on this one. Although, they're not the top priority.
All the unded will get stuff with the Nagash DLC, so nothing to worry about there.
Sounds like it's time for another Karl Crusade to purge the northern wastes!! For Sigmar!! 🔨
I only wish for a diplomacy rework and the AI aggro increase by about 85% of what were the game on launch, because nowadays the AI is boring, easy, passive, not a threat. And Legendary doesn't fix this.
Yes, it's really boring compared to TWW2 and the corruption system is meaningless
The fact that Tzeentch got no FLC LL, no proper rework, and now is hilariously outclassed as the "magic faction" by reworked Gelt, is just incredibly saddening. CA really needs to address the enormous difference in quality between SoC and ToD. Even after SoC 2.0, it feels like hand-me-down socks in comparison. Are they going to circle back around and add an FLC LL to Tzeentch any time soon, or will we be stuck with the short end of the stick until the end of the DLC cycle?
It's hilarious you think Gelt can in any way compete with Kairos. Birdo is a literal spell machinegun.
@@vojtik135 I think the comment was about the faction, though. Gelt is going to have a lot of interesting mechanics in the college of magic.
This is just disappointing when I was waiting for w3 I was looking forward to tzeentch the most but the way they handled it was just horrible for me karios start position and the fact that you are losing spells when you get fragments are just so bad compared to what gelt have now and changeling is the most unfun campaign that I ever played it's so sad that he tzeentch won't get a rework for a long time or if he will get it at all
They put a lot of work into 2 of the community's most favorite factions and it paid off hugely, I hope they keep this train going moving forward but at the very least I'm going to thoroughly enjoy this DLC/update for at least a good 100+ hours.
I'm fine with the amount of time between DLCs honestly. So long as they're quality updates/additions to the game. I'd love a lizardmen and VC update of this caliber. I would also be happy if they had more regular points of communication in the downtime.
Personally I am happy to wait longer for better quality. As a develop myself I know what it is like to be pushed towards a deadline against better judgement. No idea of the state of things behind the scenes but more time is always helpful
Well i for one very much expect dlc's of this quality moving forward. As i understand, the next not going to be 3 faction like this, but if its two then two with similar oomph for cheaper.
I really dont need every spot to have a legendary lord either. I kinda miss being able to recruit Volkmar as Franz when you built the right tier 3 buildings.
i am super happy nurgle got 2 lords. i have over 5000 hours in the series and i have never played the empire, dwarfs, high elves or cathay and i still don't want to play them because i just don't like them. i still own every DLC despite this
Well that's fine. I don't like the chaos factions and want to unite the word against it, so I play only said factions with maybe wood elves. Where there is light, there is shadow and where there are order players, there are chaos/destruction players.
@@RobertWachtler light casts a shadow, remember that. Hehe
Dear CA. I 100% agree with Mr book. I do like what you did. Please do more dlc with such amazing updates! :)
I’m incredibly excited for patch 5.0, more so than the dlc to be honest, and I was really excited for the new content.
We absolutely should expect updates and dlcs of this quality. If you factor in the three packs they are charging 27 dollars for this update. Yes you can save a little by bundling but the point remains, not to mention two of the updates fix things that should have been fixed a long time ago. If I'm shelling out what amounts to half of the purchase price of the game with tax it had better be this quality or I'm going right back to boycotting. Frankly even this update is right on the edge of being worth it.
But you would buy a pizza for £20 lol
@@PzPewwi If you are paying that for pizza then you deserve to get ripped off by CA. And also not the same thing at all, it would be like me paying £60 for a pizza, then an additional £180 for toppings, oh and btw you can't eat the pizza because it wasn't baked all the way so you have to wait 18 months while we fix it.
3 amazing reworks for all 3 races. Yeah, this was amazing and a giant leap up compared to Shadows of Change. Hopefully the next DLC is of a similar quality.
I Think kislev should get a rework next at least to their blunderbuss of a tech tree lol
