The "They can't hear me..." bit made me laugh until tears.
I appreciate the subtle humor of putting the collets down in the wrong order.
The dramatic re-enactments are my favorite
Haha, happy to hear that!
This video had a lot of useful information. I won't pay taxes any more thanks! :)
Haha, perfect!
I am also against theft.
It is a hard choice: the society, or this video; which would you want to have fall apart?
@@helvettefaensatan Well that's easy! I love these video's!
The “Laurel and Hardy “ of woodworking vids with a little Mike Jackson thrown in. (Actually very good!)
Or maybe the Laurel and Laurel of woodworking haha.
I can't tell you guys how much more I enjoy these videos with the way you have been cutting up lately. They've always been really informative and inspiring, but seeing the interaction between you guys being ramped up here lately is awesome. Thanks, and keep up the great work!
That is great to hear! Glad you are enjoying what we are doing!
That Skateboard bench looks sick.
🤣🤣🤣 You two are pure gold together!
I find those genuine Sterrett rulers a flea market all the time for a few dollars each. I now have a drawer full.
Are those from the Lens Crafter's "Home Depot Collection"? Sweet.😉👌
Love this channel for the useful content and dry humor. This video was dope packed with plenty of both.
Great video as usual. I was glad to see a track saw on your list, I have a Makita Track saw on its way right now and came to the purchase based on the exact reasons you listed. Can't wait to use it! My goal for the end of next year is to make enough with woodworking to buy a CNC.
I love you guys. You are both so funny, and your videos are so cool, and well made. I’m a beginner / intermediate woodworker, and I listen to the modern maker podcast when I work in the shop. Keep up the humor! I love it!
Gotta love lateral thinkers. Great list. And, from a country that still says Merry Christmas, well... Merry Christmas! And a safe and happy New Year to you and yours!!
You guys are the perfect duo. I totally enjoy all your videos!
You guys are killing it! Great content, visually artistic, and truly hilarious!
Glad to hear that, thanks for watching!
Looks like Chris took up break dancing in quarantine bussin it down like that
hahaha
Oh my goodness, your workshop is sooooo clean and tidy.
Not only was this video informative it was also very entertaining!!!! Thanks guys!
The dancing got me...Now I really love this channel.
Always great productions. It was inevitable that I would subscribe but Chris's dance sideswiped me and now he's defo my new fave carpenter!
You guys make the best videos. So entertaining. Love the wishlist. Mahalo for sharing! : )
Appreciate it! Glad you enjoyed watching this one!
Chris Salomone - cutting up the rug! LoL I genuinely enjoy watching you guys pull all the silly gags in this video. 😊
My Woodpeckers mini square is the most useful $30 thing I’ve ever owned. Carry it in my pocket. Always. And @zvbwoodworks is an amazing woodworker! Nice to see her getting some love. Y’all are awesome.
This video came as a present.... definitely wasn't expected!!
I love the direction y'all went with this. I would love more clamps for Christmas! 😃
Wouldn't we all! Thanks for watching!
Great info, guys, and great moves, Chris. Make sure you get that thicknii right, Shaun! Stay safe and keep up the good work. Bill
Haha, thanks Bill!
my favorite channel so far .....funny and so good thx guys
Fantastic video boys!!
Thanks guys, just purchased the digital gauge using your link. Happy to help out the channel however I can. Keep it up! I'll purchase the chair videos here soon.
Glad to hear that, we use them all the time!
This is definitely what I needed today. Thanks for the laugh, guys 👍 This is a great list and one that I’ll be making use of in the near future. Clamps are super important and also a lot of money, but I wouldn’t say they’re expensive, because they’re worth their weight in gold. I have a few Bessey clamps, which are great! I’m also looking at a random orbit sander at the moment, but I have about £100 to spend (about $134), so the Mirka and Festool aren’t in budget, but looking on the net, I do like the look of the Dewalt option. Anyway, thanks for the tips and have a good’un.
If you ever stop woodworking, you two could hit the road as a comedy duo...
i'm not the only one who dances in the shop! 8:05 nice moves dude
Bosch GET75 is my next tool to buy after trying out the Rotex!
excellent video
You don't have to discard a decent blade should you activate the SawStop brake. Send a quality blade to a qualified saw sharping service and they can braze on new teeth and true the plate if needed. Send Forrest blades to Forrest to be serviced (they can also sharpen other makes of blades and often make those blades cut better than when new). SawStop posts on their site the following Q&A: "Can the blade be reused if the safety system brake is activated? When the safety system activates, it will sometimes damage one or more teeth on the blade. Some users discard and replace the blade, while others choose to have their blades inspected/repaired by a qualified specialist."
So funny! Nice shopping lists too
6" steel rule is a good call - I'm constantly pulling mine out of my half-size square and I have no idea why I've never just bought a separate ruler since I use it so much...
I would definitely invest in a CNC if I had the money. We had one in our shop when I was in college and now that I've graduated I really miss it!
I started watching Foureyes for the woodworking tips and design ideas, then these stupid skits started with Shaun in every video.. this is NOW why I watch. The eye rolls I give you guys normally is bad enough, but this one earned a few extras. Nice work as always!
Learning while laughing.....have all my money! I will definitely support your channel
Thanks gents. Fun vid.
LMAO, you guys are hilarious, Thanks for the tips!
Thanks for watching!
Great pair of headphones. The best sound.
Working at a large shop we had a few brakes triggered in our saw stops. We would send our blades to our sharpener to get checked for true. See if your sharpeners can do that as well you might be able to save the blade. It’s not too hard to get them out of the aluminum brake. Just use some gloves and wiggle them out.
I actually used my digital angle gauge for working on my car. The cam needed to be level with the flange near it. Set to zero on the flange then moved the cam to zero.... of course I use it for my woodworking every day too.
On point as always.
Thank you!
8:02 - your flex is very cool
Always informative, thanks for sharing guys. I'd add, coffee, lots of coffee! Okay, so I'm slightly biased. Onward.
Love you guys - might question your purse string control but ... Love you anyway.
I've been using the new IsoTunes over-the-ear hearing protection for a couple months in the datacenter and my woodshop and I've been pretty happy with them. I'd recommend them long before blowing a couple hundred bucks on a set of Sony's.

I’s recommend a 6-inch double square instead of the small stiff ruler. You can always take off the square head, and have a small stiff ruler, should the need arise. And, for starter router bit sets, I’d go with the MLCS 15-pc set for about $45. then go to a higher quality bit for the ones you wear out.
I love your videos!!!
Thanks!
The makita tracksaw is the best :)
Chris I was admiring your specticules where did you get them? tks
The specs! Exquisite! Hahaha
I bought a box full of f clamps for 15€ on the equivalent of craigslist here in Germany. Yea I had to remove the rust - but it was well worth it for 20 clamps
17:20 that laugh is demonic 😂
You know the headphones, while I have Bose 35's, I do have two sets of WorkTunes; an older analog pair, and a notso newer digital bluetooth pair. I have to say, the Bose, like your re-enactment are just softer on my ears. The WorkTunes have been relegated to outdoor mowing, snowblowing or chainsawing now, or on the occasion someone such as the wife needs a pair helping me do plain, sand or cut. PS: I'll give the wife the Bose ;-)
Acs is great, is there any solution to make it for other rails?
wait.... is the mic inside Chris's head? how can't we hear when he can't!? i'm SO confused hahaha
I guess those headphones sound even better without cap ;)
You guys really need your own 30 minute TV show. If shows like Making It are popular. You two would win Emmys every year. Unfortunately I'm on Australia where they tax me on purchase so I can't avoid it.
Regarding the C&C machine, how do you feel about something portable like the Shaper Origin?
Come for the comedic timing - stay for the wood working tips.
About to order some chair plans from your site. How tall are you guys for reference? I’m 6’5” and might have to scale up some. Thanks!
What is the brand of your drill-accessory for making straight drill-holes?
Very, very funny. Oh, and useful. 👍
I'm from Malaysia and I love your videos
Thanks!
Hey guys, i recently found your channel and really like your video's ,so i subscribed . There is a lot of good info to be found. You talked earlier about the festool vs kreg ,but i have question about something your never talked about ( i think). The festool and other tracksaws have the motor on the ''left '' side as far as i know. The kreg on the other side. Do you find this '' better of worse '' to work with. I imagine you have a preference and would like to here your opinion about this. Greetings from Belgium
As soon as he said $1000 price point pick bam, target advertisement. Lol my fiance would love it.
You guys are the best. I love your hijinks.
Thanks for watching!
Those Sony earphones look awesome! Will I be able to dance and move like that?
Yes!!!! I need to get my videos on your level! But I lack your amazing personalities lol
I will sub to your channel
Thanks! It certainly makes it easier with two people!
@@jamesnichols7583 thank you brother!
@@shaunb66 I never thought you would reply lol. Thank you for that
Hilarious and informative!
Glad to hear that!
You guys are hilarious😂
If I had $ to blow, it’s the domino joiner for sure. I know you guys use it all the time and don’t realize that most woodworkers don’t have one.
Chris, where is that button down from? TIA
I truly enjoy your videos and love the work you guys do. Those headphones are not ANSI rated, I am sure that they will cover the noise but wont protect your ears. An in ear plug is the best. OSHA has all the test info on there website. I see these being promoted on alot of channels, I am not !!!! A safety nazi, ( no Ironworker is ) lol however I will protect my hearing and Eyes. Keep up the good work
I was thinking the same thing. Noise cancelling is not the same as protection
I loved the headset bit, very funny.
Glad to hear that!
I would love a CNC machine. But I just don't have the space to put one. If there was a way to fold up or hang on the wall. And affording one big enough to do the projects I would need to do on one.
space is always my biggest obstacle to getting new tools. I guess for my unlimited gift option I should ask for a new house with a detached 20x30 workshop with power, plumbing, HVAC, and dust collection LOL
My wife who has no interest in woodworking videos loves watching the intros to yours. She thinks you're both hilarious and adorable. Me...well not adorable but entertaining and informative for sure. Thanks for the content.
If you look online the track saws I can’t find the festoon I think 700 is ok I’ll never buy it I’m cheap but if you look online cheapest I found was 1100
Extra cartridge for your Sawstop?
Can I have one of those Mirka Sanders for Christmas?
What about the comfy shoes? Where’s the link to those airs???
fount it: Nike Air Max 1 Anniversary Orange
$25 for a ruler?!?! My version came as a Christmas gift from a metalwork supplier years ago.
Check aliexpress for woodpeckers knockoffs. They are dirt cheap, as precise as woodpeckers and amazing quality. For $50 you can get a 200mm square and 500mm t square
@@aleksastojanov4033 Agreed. Also keep in mind that for wood working, you can get away with tools that wouldn’t be suitable for working with dimensionally stable materials like most metals. You really don’t need anything beyond 1/32”.
@@langrock74 oh these tools are waay more than that. They are cnc machined and have metal work precision. Cnc is cheap over in china so that explains the price
@@aleksastojanov4033 oooooo i had not thought of that. i was holding out for J-Katz Moses line of woodpeckers competition, he said he will price them much more fairly, but i would love to get a full set of marking/measuring tools of similar quality. do you have a recommended aliexpress seller?
@@andrhamm it is basically all the same. Prices differ for less than a dollar. Look for the ones with highest number of sold items and with actuall reviews.
I subscribing because of the ruler pun.
i literally had the same thought about being on a desert island and picking a router as my only tool its the only tool that can do almost everything
For sure! It has to be the most versatile tool in the shop.
I thought I'd love my delve square, but the lead snaps off every time I try to use the holes. I'm using a 9mm lead pencil, but it just doesn't seem to settle in the hole. Do I have to buy the woodpeckers pencil to make it work?
No. I use Bic 0.5mm mechanical pencils. I bought a pack of like 30 a few years ago and they are still floating around all over my shop. I definitely still break lead, not all the time, but the trade off is worth it for me. I'd rather buy 150 pencils than mess up on one crucial cut.
And nothing, you are always number one
I’m bad at Cnc so I just use a jig saw and order sander and it’ll get it dobe
8:15 those headphones would feel even better if you wouldn't put them on backwards. ;)
I just got my first set of chisels, clamps, and saws and i've got a drill and jigsaw in the house. I'm building my workbench! This channel has been one of the reasons why I got into this hobby, I love your videos and personalities. Thanks! Happy holidays!
Awesome to hear that! Thanks for watching!
The problem with using active noise cancelling headphones in the shop is that they don’t provide any actual hearing protection. It’s about the same effect as turning up your music to drown out the machine noise. Still doing hearing damage long term.
Hey guys, pretend you’re new woodworkers and have $300 bucks and want to use it all on Woodpecker tools. What do you start with first? PS...favorite style of videos by far. Keep them coming.
Hey Jerrod...without double checking the math...I'd probably go with: - A large Square (great for tool set up, cutting large panels square, assembly, etc...) - A small square (great for tool set up, assembly, etc...) - Larger carpenters Square - Saddle T Square or Pocket Square or Delve (depending on personal preference) Between having one large square and 1 small square you'll have pretty good coverage for any tool set up. Add in a carpenter square and now you have three really good right angles for assembly tasks. Add in the last bullet point and now you can really grainularly mark things when needed.
I’m here for the thicknesses/thickni joke
Glad we could deliver.
actually a thckinii planer would be a great gift
What no miter saw?
Nice collection of Clamps, any from Maker Brand Co? Lol
Upon trying to open the Mirka link I get a *"Access Denied - Sucuri Website Firewall".* This is Ok for me as I'm super satisfied with my own Mirka Ceros 550CV. But for others???
