I assume everyone is now on a massive Sean Lock binge?
Yep x
23 years and counting :)
Just found the show a few weeks ago. I was tired of hollywood so I started watching other countries shows. Sad. What I’ve seen so far is funny as hell. Great comic with quick wit. RIP Sean!
Oh yeah. 😭
Following Sean for 20 years because he took over from BlackAdder for me and I cried when I heard he left us !!!
We’ve lost a true legend in every sense of the word, RIP Sean Lock.
I love Sean but what do you mean, "legend in every sense of the word"?
Cant believe its been over 2 years now
So sad to hear of Sean’s passing but his memory will never fade with the laughs he gave everyone on this show.
Now he's out there. Ruining dolphins reputations.
hope he beats God at carrot in a box
😭😭😭
What a legend. Comedy genius. A huge loss.
WHAT??? Oh, man. His voice seemed to be going for a long time there, so I knew something was up, but this is tough news. A great comic mind and a hell of a guy.
“Then don’t barbecue it, you cock” had me in tears 😂 A year on, he may be gone but he still brightens my day and I’m sure that’s the case for many others
Yeah, as much as I like Jack, he was up against it taking on Sean.
@@MrT67 I mean what do you expect? You're sitting face to face with one of the funniest people on the planet, you're telling me you won't fire a shot to get burned by him?
That haloumi bit absolutely kills me. "Well don't barbecue it, you cock."
Love the look on Roisin's face when he comes to her defence...
Rest in Peace to one of the funniest comedians ever, we’re gonna miss you
The first to perform at Wembley! 🤣 we will all miss him ❤
I'll second that.
I'll third that. R I P
@@titteryenot1136 you’re right it sucks he passed too soon
Don't mind me just crying and laughing through all of Sean's best moments. Rest in peace legend.
This is the 1st time in my 45 years I've been upset at the passing of someone I've never met. Genius gone far too soon.
👏
I agree I normally don’t care but this man was truly a national treasure
Me too.
Same here Bud , and same age
@@titteryenot1136 🥱
Sean lock is everyone's "unwilling to participate in family activities on Christmas" uncle/dad.
But like, get enough booze into him and suddenly he's the dad/uncle that isn't allowed to participate any more
Very Good, now don’t miss Gordon Steggall’s, ‘The Gordon Show’ every Sunday Evening here on KZhead, Great Stuff.
He does participate he plays the board game "allotment"
I hear he's quite fond of the family favourite "spine in a sack".
you obviously haven't seen him play carrot in a box!
coming home to a full mousetrap. genius.
Not just a man playing a comedian, he was a comedian playing a man.. It was his entire being. A natural and England's best by far. Thanks for all the laughter Sean pal. x
what a great way of putting it
And he was also….. a man with a carrot
Someone should invent a word that does what "best" does. It would be better that way.
@@alexdunhill4271 ❤️
@@Divocwax Would be better with a fragrance really
“I’m more like a sensation….an idea.” Yes you were, sir. You will be sorely missed.
"... because we've forgotten more words than, um . . . than um . . ." Genius.
and bill bailey immediately getting with it makes it even better.
Literally just watched that bit as I read your comment 🤣🤣
Sean Lock makes this show
pretty sure Joe and Jimmy do/did
Zeppotron make this show.
doesnt channel 4?
Very Good, now don’t miss Gordon Steggall’s, ‘The Gordon Show’ every Sunday Evening here on KZhead, Great Stuff.
Gordon Steggall's 'The Gordon Show' So what’s The Gordon Show about, Gordon from Gordon Steggall’s ‘The Gordon Show’?
RIP Sean Lock. So much laughter. You will be missed. Can still smell the faint whiff of chamomile tea.
I thought it was more hot tarmac and a vet's flannel. He was just an honest to god comedian... a sad loss for us all.
im getting whiffs of tarmac and a vets flannel
Loved him in Lost.
and whelk burps. Vale Sean Lock
An wells....lol. .
Rest In Piece Sean _“The Breeze”_ Lock, a true legend of Dry Comedy.
A.K.A the riddler. 😂
The Mayor of Fun.
The bit that sends me over the edge is how he says ''I don't feel well.'' Pure, unadulterated agony in those words.
And then Miles feeds him another one! 😂 I thought he was done then!
They should do a reverse episode where Sean sits in Dictionary Corner and John does the letters and numbers while Susie and Rachel captain the teams. The girls might actually earn some real points in the rounds and I just want to see what the two guys would do in the other roles.
yea but we dont care about the points.
Spone Mr But the guys in charge of number and in dictionary corner would be fun
Elmar - i can see it now - "whats your numbers then ladies ? 69 eh ? eh? 69 . letters pls ladies - here have P" , go on you want a P dont you ?" ect , ect
They did do an episode where they were on Jon and Seans team and the guy in dictionary corner did both that and Rachel's job.
Do you remember which episode that was?
*Hard to believe it's 2 years since we lost Sean. He still makes me laugh out loud, especially when partnered with Miles Jupp. A great comedian and a very sad loss to us all. RIP Sean.*
Miles and Sean were just perfection. Everytime
There are people in this world who unknowingly brighten the day of millions of people worldwide doing it tough every single day. Sean will always be that guy.
That is such a really nice thing to say. ♥️
Fantastically put Nick 👍 You speak for us all. RIP Sean, your laughter will last eternal
Knowing he was bringing joy to millions daily.... Sean would've hated that.
I love Sean and Miles together, they make such an interesting comedic pair xD
silveryblizzard ...I agree.....the best partnership ever on CATS
It shouldnt work but it really does. Make each other laugh.
Black rimmed glasses from different classes. Should be their duo name
Miles is like a jaded parent and Sean is like a cheeky little child who keeps getting distracted by shiny things and stepping on them
:(
8:16 "It always falls apart on the barbecue" "Then don't barbecue it, you cock" Haha, Sean rocks
An eternal reminder of his humour and wit - goodbye Sean :(
My daughter in coastal Australia just called me in rural Australia crying at the news of Sean Lock’s passing. I hope he knew how much he was loved around the world.
5:17 It's weird how Sean gave us the perfect Epitaph for him. RIP Sean, cross to the other side to see all the Whelks you ate.
It really backfired that little stunt. And then again, 24 hours later.
That fragrance … will last forever if only we remember to smile & laugh every time we remember this legend. RIP legend. 🙏🏽
@@zapkvr.m
That whole whelk bit was so hysterical I was crying laughing the whole time 😂😂😂
I was literally watching this video last night, horrible to hear the news about Sean. Probably the most naturally funny comedian/TV personality I’ve watched. RIP Sean ❤️
Worst thing for me, I was watching 8 out of 10 cats does countdown, and just out of the blue, wondered how I'd feel if he passed. I didn't even know he was ill... He was so integral to the dynamic. To think, later that night, I'd read the damn news... :(
The greatest Carrot In A Box player I ever saw.
There will never be another Sean Lock. Rest in Peace you beautiful bastard
He’s the definition of chaotic evil
More of a chaotic neutral, chaotic nonetheless however.
He is definately Chaotic Good, I think he is very personable. not like a chaotic evil.
Chaotic Neutral. Looking at something and going, "nah. What really should happen is..... (in a contradictory fashion to what he sees with the point of going wtf at the end.)"
@@SightForMemories remember when they made piñatas of the cast filled with different things? lol Sean's was filled with all the toys that bring you joy, the catch was that they were all broken
Charming evil
This mans one liners was gold 😂 r.i.p buddy
I think he's the most normal person on telly, like he's just perfectly funny
I remember the welk show the first time around... and the ''I won't spit on your back when we have sex'' show that left Jimmy completely ruined. Sean Lock, Legend.
oops, personal experience shining through....
Then the other guy says ' good luck trying it without the spit'!!
Eye. Let's have it right
@@annother3350 And then Sean Lock just yells/laughs/cries "But that's a nice thing!"
Both time’s it was Sean & Miles, they’re the dynamic duo!
Sean Lock is not only an English national treasure, he's an international treasure too.
Goodbye Sean you were my favorite countdown player and we will all miss you
I love how much Rachel Riley lights up at Sean Lock's buffoonery
Now off to google what a whelk is. (Edible sea snail thing. Like an oyster of sorts)
Edible sea snail thing. Like an oyster of sorts
thanks
In the UK whelks are sort of a part of our culture, though not to everyone in the UK I imagine. If you live in a seaside town (which is almost everywhere seeing as we're an island) you get whelk stalls near the seaside and some people go and collect their own whelks. I'm from Dundee on the east coast of Scotland and some of my fondest early memories were where my dad would take us to the beach and while my sister and I played in rock pools and built sandcastles our parents would fill a bucket with whelks that they would later boil and eat. My older sister and parents loved them but to me they were horrible-tasting things that looked like something that just fell out of the nose of a flu sufferer. My favourite bit was that not every whelk shell contained a whelk because shells discarded by whelks when they shed/molted would become home to tiny crabs. So I would inspect the bounty picked up by our parents and insist that any shell with a non-whelk entity in it was put back in a rock pool. I gave zero fucks about the whelks that were going to be eaten. Bit of a black and white childhood I suppose, free the crab, munch on the snail. :D
Like a particularly chewy sea snail. 1 is ok. Twenty is horrid
You kidding? :) i love em. We used to eat a whole pot of em when i was young. A delicacy :) God im hungry now....
Well, charity donations are tax deductible, although I'm not sure how much of an incentive that is to Jimmy...
Not in the UK.
Huh, my bad, guess I'm not that familiar with tax returns in the UK. Which means I have something in common with Jimmy.
I can't help but feel you knew that and set yourself up for the second burn on purpose ;)
This was a beautiful exchange
Double Zing!
Remember fellas, Sean Lock can't be described in any way other than a fragrance akin to hot tarmac and a wet flannel. RIP a legend
RIP Sean. Such an amazing comic. Always had a way to make every person in the room buckle over with laughter, even those watching at home.
shows how funny he is when they have to make two parts
i mean he's in 90% of the episodes there would be a lot of stuff to show
Very Good, now don’t miss Gordon Steggall’s, ‘The Gordon Show’ every Sunday Evening here on KZhead, Great Stuff.
Self advertisement is a bit shit isn't it
Surprised there's no Part 5 yet
Sean and Bill would be an amazing sort of improv just sit together make shit up duo. 4:05 ... its just perfect
They started off together they used to be a duo
Bill seems very good at playing along when other people do a bit. I've seen clips of him and Dylan Moran together outside of black books, and you can see the sort of chemistry that led to the show. Dylan would rant as he does, and Bill would play off it in an interesting and funny way, which would give Dylan something to work with and they would naturally just break into hilarious little repartees it was great
@@swine13 Black Books was such an underrated show, imho... I loved watching those two and Fran try to figure their life out :D
Sean was with Bill in the Rubber Bishops- late 80's/ very early 90's. Saw them at Edinburgh Festival
Binging Sean lock-videos and cry-laughing. God, he’ll be missed…!
I love how Sean always chucks off at the show but really he wouldn't want to be doing anything else.
When he burps while eating all those whelks... I broke, I was in tears, my chest hurt... Nothing beats that x'D
nah , sniffing susies shoe was the best one he just instinctively just picks it up and goes straight for a wiff like thats just the etiquette with shelas shoes then he nearly falls off the chair from the smell
Sean and Lee Mack are just geniuses.
Lee mack is shit
big man tom I know shit like this is subjective but you’re objectively flat out wrong.
@@TomBruhh - no, big man tom is right. Lee Mack thinks anything is funny if you shout it loud enough and talk over the top of other guests.
@@MrDino1953 Search for the best of Lee Mack, no shouting anywhere. Yes he does shout in SOME of his live performances, but that's less than 2% of the entire show. He's unbelievably quick witted and a naturally funny guy (he doesn't do that most annoying thing that lots of comics do: deliver a punchline and then immediately pretend to start another sentence as if they haven't noticed anyone laughing, then stop to give us all time to laugh, cough Stewart Francis cough, cough.)
I completely agree. Sean Lock and Lee Mack have been my favourite comedians for years. Fuckin hilarious!
The first time I’ve felt true grief at the passing of a celebrity. His comedy put smiles on my face in the hardest of times. RIP legend 🕊
Rest in peace Sean. You got me through so many hard nights and made me laugh even when no one was watching this show in school. I'm sad about your loss. Rest in Peace mate
