    • Wild canines and members of the weasel family live off of rodents like rats, mice, and squirrels. A wild coyote needs to eat about 60 house mouse sized rodents A DAY. That's 1,800 per month. So that means they have 1,800 opportunities to get sick every single month! If they were as fragile as people think, they would have caught some disease and gone extinct a long time ago! Plus to top it off, I keep my animals fully vaccinated. The risk is incredibly low. Dog parks, on the other hand, are INCREDIBLY dangerous when it comes to spreading disease, and yet no one thinks to worry about taking their dog to the park.....

I genuinely believe this needs to become more popular! I can’t imagine how much of a positive impact it would have on the environment to no longer use poisons and pesticides… it would be a massive help for our microbiota and ecosystems especially in fresh water. To me, i can’t think of one person who wouldn’t want to promote this approach - man, woman, liberal, conservative (maybe not the pesticide makers lol…). It’s natural, great bonding for dogs and owners, and is a link in the circle of life. I really hope you’re onto this natural pest control revolution, Joseph. I was so happy to see you get national recognition on CNN, so things are only beginning for you!!! Maybe some day you’ll have ratting companies or natural pest control offices all over the US. • I just discovered your channel and it is awesome. I wanted to point out that you guys should police up the area before you let the dogs and the minks out. There were a lot of rusty nails in the wood on the ground under those tanks...and there were many pipes and sharp nail like objects near the rat holes that Boon, when fighting a rat, might have impaled herself on. Gypsy stood right on top of a nail. I hope she didn't get stuck. The pipe ends can poke a running dog's eye out when chasing a rat. My dog lost an eye that way....Anyway please keep it up and I am going to join the special channel. Thanks Bindy, Gypsy, Boss, Boon et al.

    • Lol these comments always come from a really good place so I really don't want to come across as rude or insensitive. But, you're projecting your hypervigilance for safety onto these animals. This would be a whole lot of extra time and effort, with likely very limited (and difficult to measure) benefit. This team has been operating for years and if your concerns were valid, it's pretty safe to assume Joseph would be taking the required measures. These are working animals who have an incredible ability to navigate their environment and are well looked after, even if/when injuries occur. Like I said, I know you're coming from a really good place and don't want to come across like I'm shooting you down. But this is the kind of concern you'd typically see reserved for very young children (which can also sometimes be to their detriment), not working animals.

And, even then, notice how he makes the point of explaining in the video it is more decent to kill the rats with dogs and a mink (an ugly but quick and effective death) over poisoning them or using traps (an ugly, slow and not so accurate method for death). My own house doesn't have rat issues since I have a mixed German shepherd and a goldie in here. And they're pets, never trained for rat hunting.
