Nice work on that rocker panel, cutting a piece off was the best result. Much less body filler and it looks super sweet. Can't wait for the second part.👍🏼
Nope. I’d section it in. Cutting out the real structure points down from the a-pillar that supports the hinge area where the door hangs is a lot more intrusive than just sectioning in a piece of the rocker. Less work. less intrusive. Just as good. 👍🏻👍🏻

Thank you so much for sharing this information. The attitude of the mechanic is upbeat and positive. I own 3 of the cars he has fixed and now have a great understanding of what is involved should I ever have the misfortune incurring such damage. 2015 RR Wraith, 2017 S65, 2015 911 Turbo S. Could you please share the repair costs? (a range would be helpful.)

I have seen enough of your videos to know you and your crew do quality repair and when done no one will know where the repairs were made. mate, good to see you trying to repair the outer panel. No shame in admitting its wasn't turning out as good as you wanted. Excellent back up plan with the section replacement. My first reaction was how bad is the damage underneath the rocker skin. The outer panel being purely cosmetic. You got lucky ( or bought wisely!) and got minor inner damage. I think your repair will be fine as the car was still fully ‘true’ on the chassis jig. I’d be interested to know if the inner rocker was the same metal as the outer. Or if it was a boron steel section as repairing that is a more serious decision.

I see that you replaced the middle piece of the door sill frame as well. Solid choice. All three layers are structural and that middle layer was too bent to ever have structural integrity.
Once Dr. Vlad does the operation the patient has a quick recovery! Before you know it this Porsche will be driving down the road looking like a brand new car! As always I am looking forward to the next video!
With the rocker panel You did just right not to exchange more. But the car seemed to hav e a little bent in the under carriage.
Great work, love this build. Question...don't you have to treat the under-skin rocker panel that you worked on? The area of welds that you pulled, don't they need to be painted/treated to resist future corrosion?
The copper colored stuff is weld through primer, it's zinc rich, which will help with corrosion resistance. Once the car is painted and finished, he probably will spray the inner area with wax,.to keep the rusting down. That's what that rectangular hole can be used for
