This is why my heart breaks for John Ambrose. I mean, he's a better match for LJ since he's all so innocent about the relationship thing compared to Peter.
@@o0omheano0o ur so wrong
@@jacklopez5226 but he was so nice and kind it sucks that he's going to be feeling down for a while0
I cringed hard at that. Seriously, LJ must just be a horny little b to choose peter over john
Damn....... Lana's back must be hurting from carrying the whole movie on her back
Deshna Mehta she didn’t tho
Noah didn't even act. Lana and Jordan were the only ones who actually acted. There was no chemistry between Lana and Noah in this movie.
@@deshnamehta5803 your opinion. Jordan sucked. Noah's acting in every other movies was lame. But he rocks the Peter kavinsky role. It feels so natural. While some of the lana's scenes were crengey like the beginning of this vedeo and the beginning of the film. Noah's acting was perfect in this movie. Am not a fan of naoh. But I like his character in this movie. To be honest I only watched this movie for Peter.
I blame the script
Deshna Mehta exactly. Noah and Lara didn’t spend much time Peter and Peter prioritised his friends in the movie. They also didn’t seem like a couple. Jordan and Lara however you could tell they liked eachother. I think maybe Jordan and Lara have some chemistry which is why this is the case but who knows
When he kept saying “peter let’s go” I kept getting anxiety I don’t like being late
hahaha i felt that too.. i was low key freaking out lol
same
Ikr? Same here!
LMAO same. Literally freaking out because they're talking too long and the bus might leave w/o him.
It was happining while i read this!!!!!!
in LJ defend, she acted really cool about it, i would have been screaming, yelling, and never, never take his a*** back, but i am over dramatic person, and a little bit toxic.
I don't think screaming and yelling would help, but I'm SURE I'd never take him back. He was terrible.
i do the same, i read the book. still doesn't like Lara getting back with this peter.
Aryah 19 but if you read the book you would know that the only reason peter was with gen was because gen’s dad was dating a girl that was gen’s age and peter was comforting her...
@@michalsananes6699 i know, but Peter with his lack of communication will always makes Lara Jean insecure. And the last book, he just getting more weird.
I don't think that is a toxic behavior though, you have the right to get mad and upset and all that, because if my Peter did that, I would act the same as you haha.
Honestly, he's such a jerk in the movie that I was ROOTING for John Ambrose! Honestly, just the fact that he was waiting for another girl and "took a chance" with her, for me, was enough to leave him behind and move on. That's it!
I think so too.
He was worse in the book
Agree!
I know right. I'm rooting for John Ambrose too!
Yes
"We must kill this love yeah it's sad but true" playing in the background while she's heading to break up. I don't think it's a coincidence they chose this exact part of the song
I was thinking the same about the hot tub scene in the first movie where they choose "lovers" playing in the background
also cuts out the korean parts smh
@@eb.3764 because the movie is in English. Not many koreans probably watched because the movie is American. Its literally like 10 seconds of the song in the movie it's not like they were in it for the whole song. Yea in the book LJ sees directly Gen and Peter
See LJ did one thing wrong She automatically showed Peter the photo I would have waited to see if he would lie than show him the photo
Alexi Felton yeah i agree
It wouldn't matter because as LJ stated, he picks Gen every single time.
@@hitomiueno5250 Gen was dealing with her parents getting divorce and she has asked peter to help her since he has dealt with there parents getting a divorce to-
I agree. I would have asked and if he lied I would have been like BAM ... in your face. Who the hell is this then.. your grandma
You have to catch them off guard lol 😏
No one talks about how LJ never told John that her and Peter were a couple and how she literally drags both men along getting their hopes up.
Soap Scenes thank you, finally someone who sees both POVs
exactly
i thought about this too
But you have to think about it though, every time LJ would try to tell John, something would come up. Lara Jean was also trying to figure herself out emotionally. Obviously it was wrong to get John’s hopes up, but Peter was kind of being a jerk to LJ.
Sarah W. Not saying Peter wasn’t a jerk at points, but she should have told John right away whether she was figuring out stuff or not - she drag them both along. The film doesn’t portray LJ as perfect she also makes mistakes and should also be called out.
This scene where Lara Jean finds out abt Peter and Gen is SO different from the scene in the book that it's just frustrating. In the book, John Ambrose was driving her to the place and Peter actually missed this match because of Gen. Lara Jean actually saw them hugging each other in front of Gen's house. Even the movie's ending was quite different. It's so frustrating.
yeah I remember that and even when gen and Lara jean confronted each other about Peter and gen explains why she was with Peter and how she used to like him bt LJ kissed him. LJ asked at the end of convo if they could be friends and gen said no we cant we will never be friends again . they skipped properly showing that scene too .
Book name?
@@tinaarmy7625 To All The Boys I've Loved Before P.S. I still love you
Afrah Ali Lara Jean always had so much more going on that just the boy drama. She genuinely mourned the loss of that friendship and struggled with her own self-image. She wasn’t insecure about Gen because of Peter. She was insecure because of how she saw herself.
what happens in the book????????????????????? at the end
it was peter's wrong.... he lied. LJ had every right to get angry.

Even John knew he never really had a chance. He could see she never stopped loving Peter. And while he was disappointed, he understood.
Ikr. He was such a sweetheart
IKRRRRR OMG I WAS SO MAD
So much better ):
Kaylee Guzman that’s basically the whole movie, yeah
Honestly, Lara Jean should have ended up with John Ambrose. In the first movie I was rooting for Peter but it's like all their chemistry disappeared in the second movie. Peter and Lara have basically nothing in common while she and John get along so perfectly. They have the same interests and they're super cute together.
Sweet Melody yeah and tbh Peter didn’t seem like a very good boyfriend
Lets be real her heart always belonged to John from the beginning
No it didn't
Opposites Attract. John Ambrose /Lara Jean to much in common
I just want to know which letter did Lara Jean wrote that was so intense?
This scene broke me. I wish she didn’t forgive him. I don’t think i would have after finding out he was waiting for Gen at the hot tub and not her.
the fact that the song was “Kill this love” as Lara was approaching Peter where they would break up..
Thats was cool
The thing I didn’t like about this movie is that glorifies everything that an actual boyfriend shouldn’t do like you want to trust your partner and I know is suppose to be a highschool/teenage movie but seriously like we need to start making movies that teaches girls to love themselves and to not accept this kind of “love”
Yesss omg for the very woke time we're living in, this flick just did the Nay Nay. So backwards 😂
The whole time I was saying dump his ass, it felt so unhealthy and gross the whole movie
I agree ☝️
Write a book about it 😁😃 idk or someone do it. I feel books and movies should be doing that. More self love.
Guys. Not gonna lie, I am low-key with Lara Jean on this one. Sis is making some good points here
Lara jean is an icon
“You pick her, you pick her every single time.” Hits home
When he said : "We promised we wouldn't break each other hearts" She should've answered: "Well you broke my heart before I did" or "But you just did."
Yea and im sure it will be 100% damaging his heart 😌😳😭
I'm just happy because I'm not frustrated because I don't read the book. Woo!
😂
I'm legit waiting for all the movies to be out before I read the books for that exact reason lol
I was mainly frustrated in the first movie because they drink what they called Korean yogurt. Ugh. It's Japanese. It's not yogurt. It's yakult.
Mean Kitty same, I haven't read the books at all, but watched both movies😂
OMG I feel this comment😂
Chris was literally THE best friend ever the way she looked at Lara before she had to tell her she looked so heartbroken for her ☺️😫
Trevor and Chris had more chemistry than Peter and LJ tbh
Emma OMG YES thank u
what a bullshit. not at all. Trevor and Chris are forced AF. Lana and Noah had crazy amazing chemistry on-screen and irl.
Nope i agree with the original comment. They had great chemistry in the first movie but something was missing in this second one..
Not to be mean or anything but their relationship is toxic, LJ should’ve dated John
KimYeontan’s Fav Uncle XoXo ur right
KimYeontan’s Fav Uncle XoXo i hate how in this movie they made peter so toxic like in the first one he was so nice and stuff
yas, date a total stranger
@@jama5336 John wasn't a stranger she knew him since they were kids
John is better than Peter in my opinion.... sorry 😐
When I read the second book I really wanted LJ to end up with John. He was understanding, selfless, smart, and kind. Peter just annoyed me throughout the second and third book and I honestly would have preferred she’d end up alone in the last book because their relationship was all over the place-no communication whatsoever and she almost had sex with Peter to FIX the relationship. I was disappointed with his and her character by the end of it all. They really ruined the adaptation of the second book for us which was the best book out of the three.
Erica Lopez RIGHTT like both of them look soo childish it’s almost annoying
Big spoiler 😭
There was a book ??
GIRL yess lol 😂
Caroline Fyneface Sorry about that
In Peter's defense, this is actually hypocritical. Lara Jean is upset over Peter going on to talk to his ex, while she emotionally cheats on him with John Ambrose. Let's add on that she has been leading John on at the same time and not mentioning her relationship with Peter to him, so she lied to both of them.
I don’t believe that her not telling John about her relationship with Peter was lying, I just think she never had the right moment to tell him because they would always get interrupted. You also have to remember that Lara Jean would obviously be skeptical of her boyfriend being friends with his ex. She was skeptical even before John came into the picture with his letter.
@@Sarahw__ She explicitly have monologues daydreaming about her and John Ambrose. They're 16 so I would say it's pretty realistic and a bit normal for people of that age to have some feelings for more than one person.
z Julio and I’m not defending her for that. I’m just saying that I don’t believe that she lied about having a relationship with peter to John because she never was able to say anything.
Sarah W. I disagree, she had plenty of opportunities to tell him given the number of times they talked about Peter. So it’s not like she didn’t have the opportunity to as much as she was hesitant.
z Julio but she did try to bring it up at times, but got interrupted. I agree she was hesitant, and shouldn’t have been because she was in her relationship, but Peter was also talking to Gen behind LJ’s back. So they were both wrong in their situations.
0:09 yessss maddie
Andrea Bayona absolutely definitely yes
I was so happy when I saw her small role but still love her
who’s Maddie?
I personally thought that maddie was the one behind the video because she naver talk to LJ when they where leaving from the trip in tatbilb
@@myraalugo maddie ziegler
I kinda preferred the way the book went than the second movie. I remembered in the book Peter never outwardly state what was going on with him and Gen, he just stated Gen just needed someone, which help build up Lara Jean's frustration more. Also, I wish there were more Lara Jean and Peter cute moments (more dates, more at home scenes of them baking, Yakult, or Kitty -- Peter interactions). I felt like the movie was rushed at some points but I still enjoyed seeing this couple on screen again :)
0:08 Maddie doing a side aerial and a leap. 😍 my dance queen💛
Peter’s choice only protected GEN, not Lara Jean. Lara Jean was slut-shamed and bullied because of that video, and the whole school thought it was a sex tape. How can you build an honest relationship from that, and how did keeping Gen’s secret protect Lara Jean? To me, that’s the worst and most unforgivable part. Even worse than waiting for Gen in the hot tub.
They ruined second movie and those two dont seem to even act there is no chemistry and the fight doesnt show that any of them have any feelings
Aesthetic Edits it’s the director it was good but it could’ve been better
That hot tub part broke my heart. If I remember correctly that's when peter told lara jean that he was falling in love with her, but he was actually waiting for gen
I can’t be the only one who thought this movie was legitimately bad and the first one rewatching it wasn’t that good. In the book it’s so much more fleshed out and the choice between John and Peter was hard and it wasn’t as obvious. There is a big communication issue. I know that people love the beginning and the end of relationships in pop culture, but this is the exact opposite of what the middle looks like
Ikr. LJ didn't choose Peter so easily like in the movie. There is just so much more John Ambrose that they left out. I would understand if they skipped some parts, but changing the weight of the scene was so frustrating.
Honestly, this movie did a disservice to pretty much every character and every relationship in the story. They took three dimensional characters and complex relationships and boiled them down to their simplest forms. Lara Jean always had so much more going on in her life and her mind than just boy drama, and Peter wasn’t just a “jerk” boyfriend in the books. We got to see both his strengths and weaknesses, his insecurities and struggles as well. And John...honestly John wasn’t a complex character in the book, mainly because Lara Jean never got to know him well enough for him to be anything other than a fantasy of what could be, and even she realizes this and admits it to herself. And for once in her life she finds herself wanting reality over fantasy (which is a theme Han begins in the first book and builds on seamlessly in the sequel)

Anyone thinking that book was much more better than movie ...?
prachi de yes, there is so much missing in the Movie and Everything is rushed:(
that is always the case when you go from book to movie... its impossible to fit a book into a movie (time-wise) so never compare... it will only cause disappointment - just watch the movie for what it is... or try :)
naturegirl51 the first one was amazing but different directors
@@naturegirl51 it's not about comparing book and movie... It's just at the movie doesn't seem to finish smoothly they were rushing the character.. something felt incomplete. It's not that they have to make dicto like the book but at least should have given some time for the story to adapt. Here they went to first date and the next you know she met John and stormy was seen so less. In the book stormy is the most interesting character (a badass) and here it is shown as a heavenly godmother. The story seem unsatisfactory. I don't know about other but I waited for the sequence I scream when the trailer was launched. 🤣

I really enjoyed the Growth of Lara Jean in this movie whether people felt it was slow and the chemistry wasn't there. At the end of the movie when she chose what she wanted and they rejoined it was a better kind of relationship. Not just with chemistry but it became a great platform to form a foundation for true love.

That’s a product of the movie...
@@Book_Dragon2562 well he made the movie famous. So it makes sense
Read the book and you will change your opinion. Lara Jean loved him more than he deserved
There was definitely no chemistry between the actors though, so I don’t see how you got that
It's really a heart breaking scene 😭😭
Let’s put it in Peter’s prospective though...yes that was really shitty. But also, he was probably still really hurt about the whole bus situation and thought that she didn’t like him back for real. Also, the scene or two before the ski trip he was pouring his heart out and she emphasizes how “fake” the relationship is and you can clearly see he gets hurt. If anything, he was falling for her way before the ski trip but was falling back on Gen because that’s what was comfort to him. That’s why when he says “when there was actual choice I picked you”. He meant that he could’ve told her he was waiting for Gen (he had to know she was coming and would see them together). The point was he didn’t care, and he went to her room to probably apologize and tell her he didn’t want to be with her. Now I haven’t read the book so please correct me if I’m wrong. It’s just basically the moral of the story is we don’t get anywhere by acting tough and pretending we don’t have any feelings for one another. Let them know.
xxladybug94 No, that is...really not what was happening. To be frank, both the movie and the book have a very honest and realistic take on teenage boys: when Peter saw his chance of getting *something* he took it. It could have been from Gen, it could have been from LJ-the point was he would get hot and bothered with one of the girls. Of course, you could argue that he had really strong feelings for LJ but he also led Gen on to believe that he had those very same feelings for HER. The book series also never makes it clear if he would stay with LJ if she wasn’t sexually active with him-and there is a lot of hints that he is seeing Gen while still with LJ. The movie did do a lot of gymnastics to make him slightly less toxic but Peter is really not it.
Zury Andrade dang that’s disappointing. But in all honesty so are men 😂
@@zuryandrade143 that's not true, the book was very clear that the only reason Peter was seeing Gen behind LJ's back was because he was helping Gen who was self-harm because of parents divorce and he didn't told LJ about Gen problem because he thought it wasn't his place. He could communicate better with LJ? Sure, that's why you make mistakes and learn from them. And what you mean about Peter wouldn't stay with LJ if she wasn't sexual active with him? They never had sex in the books. And in the 3 book Peter actually refuse to have sex with LJ after after they graduated because he thought she wanted to have sex for the wrong reason. And it have nothing in movies or books that showed that Peter had strong feelings for Gen after he started getting involved with LJ.
Lais Frederick 1) There is a thing called “Reader’s interpretation”. At some point, one of your high school teachers will explain it better, but it basically means that the book presents the events and the reader interprets them based on both the evidence presented. *Peter* says that that is the only reason but the book also presents alternative interpretations that throw that under the bus, such as LJ, JA, Chris, Margo and Kitty being suspicious and angry at Peter’s behavior-not just LJ. Peter also decided to not only invite Gen, in the book he also created an alliance with her during the game. That’s not okay especially as he KNEW LJ wasn’t okay with that. They didn’t have sex not only because he felt LJ wanted to do it because of the wrong reasons but because (much like Edward in Twilight) he had been fighting with LJ over their respective college decisions and wanted to hold sex over her head in their arguments. I think it’s also rather telling that when the author was asked about the toxicity of Peter, she didn’t defend him and only said “that is what I wrote”.
@@zuryandrade143 Oh Thank you for trying to narrow my argument down by pointing out that I'm probably a high school kid (which is far from true) who doesn't understand "reader interpretation". Now that you mention, now I understand that your whole essay is Just a "reader intepretation" with no based of what actually was written.
LJ is so annoying acting like she hasn’t been emotionally cheating the whole movie
LJ was also weighing her options between Peter and John, they simply just don’t deserve each other.

Their lack of communication really pissed me off throughout the whole movie. Both characters went behind each other’s backs to talk to other people that they knew they shouldn’t have been talking to🤦♀️
the colors of their school are like super cute
0:00 BLACKPINK: "KILL THIS LOVE EVERYONE!" HAHAHAH I LOVE THAT.
The Cake scene in the book after the breakup. I still get more chills from that than this breakup in the movie.
it's really frustrating and so hilarious because in FRENCH "PK" is the diminutive of the word "pourquoi?" means "Why?" In french and it's so ironical because with the scene the "WHY" on the face I can't stop thinking LARA JEAN who put why on her face like WHY YOU DID THAT PETER K. lol
I’ve seen a few comments talking about how Peter was the toxic one but personally I would beg to differ. Lara Jean was insecure with her relationship with Peter because of Gen but instead of communicating about her feelings she kept them deep down until every tiny thing Peter did made her angry or upset. I’m not saying Peter is completely innocent, but nobody is perfect and some of the things he did that Lara got upset with was just petty. You guys also keep forgetting she knew she had a boyfriend yet she still led John Ambrose on and kept flirting with him and never even told him about Peter until he finally said something...yikes
Him lying about Gen taking the video was pretty awful, that’d be a dealbreaker for a lot of people.
