The actual new content is probably being tested here with no restriction for some community feedback, so they can maybe polish it and add it later if it fits the game and if it works good enough.
it would be good if they put this much effort into all the actual updates they release
1.21 has a lot of effort into it.
They spend a year planning and coding April 1st update and only take a day to create actual update

Notice the floating islands, new terrain generation, and the grappler thing. These make me think of things that would fit in a new end dimension. I think we will see certain aspects of the potato dimension (esp the grappler and new wood variants) reskinned in the rumored End update.
