There’s a special big wave slab spot 25 minutes from my Sydney home and when all the stars align Deadman’s can seriously put on a grand show.
It only breaks good (meaning over 10 feet) every two or three years.
This swell event was big and anticipated as ever.
Deadmans lived up to all expectations. Enjoy
PS There is a mistake on a date that comes up which we are trying take out at 2.41.
PS Make sure you watch what happens at 7.50 in..OMG!
PS 2 PS Don't forget to leave us a comment if you like what you sea.
On the Drone was Sky Monkey 5

Special thanks to Dan Toomey on the GoPro 10

  • The clips drop fast and furious after the day. A few days later Tim has put together something special and it's "Hold my beer" time. Great variety of angles and as usual an edit that shows your vast experience...ah yeah I liked it.

    • Agree seen this footage at least 3 times before , Tim has different angles.. a story line, better music and editing, makes the footage seem completely new

  • I Love this place! I surfed so much in the 80’s and 90’s. Hope one day to surf it again before I die 🤪 67 now surfing since 1971 and still going riding a Mitchell Rae Outer Island 7’8” Quad Coral Reefer. Truly perfect for Deady’s!!!

  • Used to surf the Bower after school with my mate Bill Farnsworth in the late 60's before leg ropes were invented. Anyway the first time we saw Deadmans surfed was very large SE swell when the Hawaiians competing at Bells happened to passing through Sydney and paddled to Winki and kept paddling south. It was a treat to behold and a level Bill and I had never imagined seeing Reno Abillera and his intrepid crew surfing where we thought was impossible.

  • Thanks for capturing the skill of these chargers, Tim. Definitely the best images from the day. As a mother of one of the crazies, I can only watch once I know they are safely back on land (particularly seeing how savage those wipeouts were)!

  • Incredible. Holding your position & not greeting the wave is something only experienced surfers master. Once you make the drop, you’ve got to be patient enough to get under 2nd gnarly ledge. Once you get under that, the white water behind you accumulates rapidly so it becomes a race against the wave. At this point you’ve barely enough time to make a bottom hand turn. Then the wave barrels intensely over you… incredible.

    • David, Is the choppy, rough quality of the the wave characteristic of this spot, or was the choppiness only this day? Does it get more glassy?

      @mr.h3134@mr.h31342 жыл бұрын
    • @@mr.h3134 Actually it can get glassy. This was a massive storm tho and this generally works on a SE so usually a bit messy. But chop is not the issue, its the surface contortions of the wave. I honestly have not been able to push over the lip into all but one and I pulled off straight away as I approached the buckle.. Kudos to those guys dropping into this swell. Crazy! I'll never be able to haha
