  • Kudos to that little slip of a girl!! She kicked the asses of 20 muscle bound men. The women are being VASTLY underestimated in this series. It isn't just about brute strength, guys. The only man who has won my respect on this series so far is the gymnast. He is a fine athlete with intelligence to match. I'm cheering for the "weak."

    @beverlyho9559@beverlyho9559 Жыл бұрын
    • Well it's beneficial to be light in that particular challenge. The women there sure are badasses, but I don't think they're being underestimated at all. In challenges where it's about pure strength they will simply be nowhere near the strength of the guys who weigh 2-3x more than them

    • The bag was only 40% of your body weight, so the lighter you are the bigger advantage you have. The heavier you are the bigger the disadvantage. Pretty sure everyone would've picked the women for this challenge if they could build teams.

      @tyler-hp7oq@tyler-hp7oq Жыл бұрын
    • But the mass of the bags is proportional to each competitor, so each person should be able to apply the same amount of Force relative to the weight they are pulling. Everyone should be using force proportional to their strength and mass. This is a test of willpower and levering; the weight they are pulling doesn’t matter

      @coconutgelato7459@coconutgelato7459 Жыл бұрын
    • @@coconutgelato7459 No because you're applying the force mostly through your forearms and grip, not through bodyweight.

  • People saying that it is not fair because the big guys are at a disadvantage did not understand this game. Their is different type of games. In some the lightweights will be at an advantage and in others the big muscles will. It's about who has the better bild to succeed all the different challenges. Did people also say that the lightweight team were at a disadvantage with the ship game?

(this is not the olympics) some rounds benefit some athletes and others benefit others... i think it is randomly distributed and it is not done with malice also the set designs are really impressive it is quite beautiful to watch kudos to everyone involved in this tv show because you can tell it is made with a lot of love and respect to all the athletes

  • This was a weird one IMO. Like the hanging contest, it was another stage that favored smaller bodies. So all the big boys got eliminated. But in a cruel twist of fate, the next challenge heavily favors brute strength. And with the players being allowed to pick the team they want to ally with, it feels like these guys were brought back in just to be given no chance to win. We'll see what happens but I don't think any amount of teamwork can overcome their huge strength disadvantage.

    @RiceEater483@RiceEater483 Жыл бұрын
    • a sport scientist should've devised this. 40% body weight isn't fair when the bulk of labor is upper limb

      @roccoondraw@roccoondraw Жыл бұрын
    • Yea but it's basically impossible to keep it completely fair for everyone. I guess the ultimate contestant have to have both relative strength, endurance and also hold their own in just pure strength

      @Activated62@Activated62 Жыл бұрын
    • @@Activated62 I think they should have had teams draw randomly instead of picking. There could have been more balanced teams that way. But now we have one team that is far far weaker than the other 2 when brute strength is now the most important attribute. Other than that, I think the first two main stages were fine. It's just the hanging stage and this one to get back in that favored smaller bodies too much. I wanted them to throw a bone at the big boys, but they really went overboard with it considering the circumstances lol.

      @RiceEater483@RiceEater483 Жыл бұрын
    • @@RiceEater483 I think random teams might be better for entertainment in the sense that it might be more equal teams, but this is better to make sure the strongest people stay imo. So far I think it's been a good balance of strength, endurance and relative strength (compared to body, like hanging) from the challenges. I don't know what I want to see next; maybe some individual challenge that requires intelligent and strategy, but I don't know if that fits the concept of the game though

      @Activated62@Activated62 Жыл бұрын
    • @@Activated62 Ultimately I actually don't have much of an issue with how the teams were decided. But I don't like how this game led straight into the 4th main stage. It feels like the winners of this were set up to fail lol.

  • Well there’s a way to make this fair. But it will take more time. First they have to test each contestant on how much weight max they can pull. Then after measuring their max pulling strengths, take 10-20% of that as their load. But still, player can cheat here.

    • @@Quandaledingleberg She only weighs like 110 pounds tops lol. That means she only had to hold 44 pounds. Compare that to those guys weighing well over 200 and their holding 100+ pounds. A smaller person can easily hold 40% of their body weight compared to a heavier person. It's literally the same logic as the first challenge hanging on bars. The strongest guys in the competition dropped early because they couldn't hold their weight. No amount of technique would've helped them in that challenge. Body strength relative to weight begins to slowly taper off at a certain point.

  • I feel like it should’ve all just been the same weight. Obviously a little lighter so that it’s more of a test of endurance than strength cause the next challenge was literally just brute force. 40% of their own body weight is pretty unfair imo and then all the people who had a lighter physique were set up for failure.
