What an amazing player, I'm not even remotely an Avalanche fan...MacKinnon has always been at the very least consistent, but he has evolved to elite over the years. I'm sure Sakic is proud.

Man what a year for phenomenal performances. Mac, Kuch and McDavid with obscene point totals. Matthews with 69 goals. Absolutely amazing. So many other guys that had great years too but are just completely overshadowed by the top guys that you never hear about them.

If it were points alone, yes, but it's not, so it's gonna be close. MacKinnon has 7 more goals and is a 35 plus minus instead of an 8. By far the best 5 on 5 player this year. Coin toss who wins it really

@@smiakishev its a regular season award, not a 'who did the best versus playoff teams' award. if you wanna go rogue like that, mackinnon is #6 on the all time playoff points per game list, kucherov is #15 - and mackinnons goal ratio for those points is almost double kucherov's. You'd be very hard pressed to find a GM that would rather build a team around kucherov than mackinnon - as great as kucherov is.
