Hey Dimitri. Thanks for making these videos. I didn't go with the Fulla 3 instead I choose to go for the Sound Blaster 3x because of the surround sound features. Your reviews are extremely helpful though. The nuance you bring to the conversation through your easy to follow comparisons really make me sure I am choosing the right product for me.
Magni 3 and Modi 3. Been loving this combo and extremely hard to beat at their price points.
Squad asking me why my audio sounds so good Me: DUDE I HAVE SCHIIT AUDIO
he might say that you're Fulla Schitt
@@eemz9113 not until you schitt on them in game
you are wrong, SOO WRONG! Dude, I have THE SHIIT audio. Just listen!
all of yall puns are SCHIIT xD
So basically instead of directly plugging your headset into the computer you plug it into these audio interfaces to enhance your mic and overall game sound quality?
Holy Schiit the Fulla has come a long way from the first one...
It's TWO more than the original!

Thank you for showing me the Sound Blaster X3! It's perfect for what I need it for and it completely flu under my reader.
The timing of this video is amazing. I was just looking at old forum posts about the Schiit Fulla 2 and searched for reviews and saw there was a Fulla 3 and this popped up
Considering what I am using for my audio set up at this time anything that'll help with audio quality is a plus. Good showcase of this tech sir. I was very entertained. (:
6:27 What a gorgeous shot, loving the parallax with the Hel being slightly raised!!
Great timing for this video, i've been looking to upgrade my sound. Originally wanted to buy new head phones, but my Sennheiser Game Zero Gaming Headsets still work just fine and im happy with the sound. Getting a good dac/amp is probably more important at this stage.
Thank you for the really good overview and review. I agree with your conclusions. For gaming, it's Sennheiser HPs and their microphones FTW. Amp-wise the Schiit Hel is bomb, they've nailed it with a very nice solution that will work great for many, many users. Love the no-hassle, no-drivers-required approach, and the external mic volume control is fantastic for in-game adjustment on the fly. The sound quality and value of the 37x and Hel combo is nearly unbeatable for the $$ right now!
Super impressed with the mic quality on the Fulla 3.
Ye .. But how does it handle a headset like hd58x? 🤔🤷♂️ It raised more questions then it did answering the ones I had to start with .. But I guess no one can actually be bothered to review this product 🙄
Schiit is a fantastic company. I have the Magni and Modi and the quality is absolutely great. No matter what product you are getting, you are purchasing quality.
What microphone do you use with ut Fulla 3?
Which do you prefer if you used the PC38X headset and play BR like Warzone or Warzone 2.0?
LOL I got the Schiit Hell a week ago and its a beast XD and i'm very happy with it - specially with the fact its powerful in case i'll buy ( and i sure will) more decent headphone like DT 1990 Pro
I got a Fulla 3 and Hifiman HE4XX about four months ago and I love them both. I don't have an external microphone yet but I chose the Fulla over many other options because of its small footprint, low price, and headphone + mic ports. It has more than enough power to make the HE4XX's as loud as I could ever want, but if you have higher impedance cans (>250 Ohms or so) I'd look into if you need the Hel or something with a bit more oomph. One of my favorite features of the Fulla is the rear audio output that automatically turns off when you plug something into the front output. Originally, I kept my speakers plugged into the back so I could use them or plug in headphones if I wanted, but I moved my speakers across the room so lately I've been keeping my HE4XX's plugged into the back so I can switch between them and my Tin T2 IEMs for playing games and working on music, respectively. Let me tell you - the T2s paired with the Fulla 3 sounds SO clear and detailed, it's absolutely incredible. Overall, if your budget is around $100 and you want a DAC/amp that'll run any entry- or mid-level headphones, put these on your list to consider - especially if you have or plan on using a microphone. Side note- if you see the HE4XX's for less than $150 and you can afford it, get them. Get them right away. They're very tight in the low end and detailed, with good separation. Plus they're very comfortable, even with chunky glasses over many hours. For the price, they're too good not to have in your collection. (Same for the T2s, for that matter).
I literally upgraded my setup to some of the stuff in this video a month ago. A Fulla Schiit 3 and Beyerdynamics MX 300 v2 headphones with sheepskin leather Detoni ear pads. Such a great working from home investment.
Schiit Hel Mod Mic 4.0 Sennheiser HD6xx : amazing audio
I literally have that set up on order right now! I opped for the wireless mod mic. Can't wait for it to get here!
Then you should try the mmx 300 by bayerdynamics second gen and I’ll bet you my pc that you will never touch that hd6xx ever again!
Never touching modmic. Such a useless product.
Damn I have the Hd6xx and I’m thinking of getting the Schiit Hel.
@@Hectorscarclub13 I did look I to those. The one downside I see is the mic is not detachable, where I like to use the headset outside of playin games with the bro's.
This is definitely one of your best videos, the editing was SO good!

I've been on Reddit looking at stuff like this for the last couple hours and was recommended a video you made back in 2016, then see you posted and boom you answered my questions thank you

Nice! I was just looking to buy the Schiit Fulla 3, so the timing of the video couldn't have been better.
This is exactly what I needed to know!
I see Tarkov I like. Thanks for the review, man :) Pretty much narrowed my audio setup to the HD58x with either a Fulla 3 or Hel.
Did you decide to go with this setup and how do you like it with tarkov?
@@1117Jrod hey man. I actually went with the PC37X w/ no amp/dac. Reason being is that this what I could afford at the time and I don't think I needed anything more than that. In terms of Tarkov though, it's great. Not sure if if I can compare since I gave away my old Cloud Core before playing Tarkov.
@@ThatAnonymousGuy234 that’s awesome man Congrats. Decided to go 38x with a amp/dac. But only cuz I had more in my budget and figured I could benefit later down the road if need be. Thanks bud! See you in Tarkov!
I preferred you using the Hel for the mic, it wasn't hearting my ears when listening to it using my HD58X on my Fulla 2
Did you change your fulla 2 ? I’m looking to get HD58x with Fulla 4 ist good or should i go with Hel
@@It7xc ive kept my fulla 2. the only other thing I bought since then was an Audioquest dragon fly red just so I can use these headphones with a laptop more easily. the great thing about hd58x is that it doesn't require too much to get good sound stage which is nice
I'm glad to see you finally getting your Schitt together. 😂😂😂 But seriously. I love Schitt's products. I have the Magni 3 and Modi 3 driving my Sennheiser Game One headset. My mic is going straight into the motherboard. Fantastic sound quality. Once I got my Schitt setup I re-listened to a significant portion of my music library just to hear the difference. And it was glorious.
I tested a lot of combos and especially soundcards over the past few years and nothing beat my ancient SB X-Fi (Xtreme Music) with CMSS-3D (in game mode) in combination with Sennheisers Game One. Perfect sound and mic quality and amazing 3D positional audio.
This! I've been using the Magni 3 with my DT990 since a while now, coming from onboard audio it was somewhat of a revelation... although their delivery times here in the EU suck :D
I've been thinking of getting one but worried because of the AC adapter. What are you using to use it with an EU outlet at 240V
I have the Magni 2Uber, but i want the Hel to maybe bring up the volume a bit more. I think the onboard audio doesn't put out like it should.
I would have liked to hear the microphone input on the Sennheiser GSX1000
Fully seconding this one :) I'm using the GSX as well and would be nice to know whether there's any significant advantage to upgrading or not.
I was deciding between the Fulla 3 and a used Audioengine D1. Went for the D1. I cannot imagine being able to tell a difference if I switched to anything considered "better". It's really good.
This video makes me want the x3. I appreciate the creative surround sound for bf5. Really bring the sounds of footsteps forwards. Recently when to mini itx so my sound blaster z is out and onboard while ok definitely doesn't have a positive effect on my gameplay. Also the x3 would end up being less than the fulla 3 here in Canada.
The perfect audio setup is one that I cannot afford right now 😂
I'm trying not to fall down the rabbit hole of DACs and Amps. I've settled on the GSX myself just because I'm down with side tone and chat mix. Paired with the PC37x of course.
yeah, it's a dangerous, expensive road. This schiit stuff has good design with decent audio quality, so it'll act as a gateway drug once folks figure out that there are MUCH better dacs out there. Between Z-Reviews & the AudioScienceReview site, you can find yourself on a never-ending quest for something better. The trick is to find something that YOU think sounds good & be happy! (sigh.. says the guy on some HD660s' & an RME dac)
I havent bought anything and im already down the rabbit hole
The Schiit stack setup seems to be more than capable for gaming, and its step up from the GSX1000, but I stopped using the GSX1000 after I started experimenting with higher bit and sample rate stereo, compared to the 7.1 function. The spacial sound from the 7.1 is impressive, but it takes a massive nosedive with the midrange becoming so muted its kinda shocking at first. Stereo at higher quality samplerate and bitrate sounds better to me, at the slight expense of the 7.1. I'm probably gonna sell the GSX1000 now, and retire my Sennheister GSP600's, coz I got the Hifiman Sundura's to go with the Schiit stack, and I'm not planning on upgrading again.
Thanks for the excellent review on gaming audio. I travel a lot and i hook up my Alienware Area 51m with Hel and Sennheiser Game One Headset. Perfect solution for gaming, video conferencing and audio solutions. Have tested it with a variety of gaming communications solutions such as Discord and Teamspeak. In my opinion - Hel is the way to move forward. Doesnt take up too much desk space and its portability is unquestionable. The only quip about Hel is the lack of USB C type connector. It is after all 2020.
I've got SHP9500 + V-Moda Boom Pro after you showed it and now I've got Sennheiser Game One because you showed it. Well done man, well done :-D Good that I'm still happy with SoundBlaster G3 and GSX1000 is a bit on an expensive side.
Dimitri, what about the New MH630 by Cooler Master though?
Sound Blaster X3 should get a proper review, i got mine and i love the SXFI feature, I can actually hear sound coming from my back with my HD 6XX.
for $120 (or anything audio-related above $100) I would rather use recording audio interface anyway.
I've been using a Fiio K3, ATH-AD500X, UMC22 audio interface and AT2020 mic. I have been very pleased with this setup.
I watched your pc37x review a couple weeks ago and decided to buy them going off of it. They still haven’t come in, but I’m glad to know you’re still choosing them today.
I legit have 0 USB type C items, that aren't my phone charger.. So I quite appreciate that you were disappointed with no type C for this device.
I have 5 products that use usb C. Only two ports on my motherboard.
That's is some rEaLlY gOoD ScHiIt
hel yeah brother
So originally I set out to get a proper dac and I went through quite a few options at Best Buy as well as Amazon.... I ended up settling for something I was not expecting... The Corsair void elite pros wired headset... 7.1 surround sound is honestly quite impressive and any competitive game I've ever played I've always felt like I've had the edge on other players. The sound stage that it gives to all audio is impressive and I even like it so much that I tend to listen to my music in the 3D sound mode. I even find movies to be much more entertaining with this on. Shocked the hell out of me but they were quite cheap they sounded really good and I could pinpoint people's location by their footsteps better than I could with any other headset that I tried... Win-win for me
Arctis 7 with the Asus DGX with the uni xonar drivers and PEACE equalizer are what I've been using for years now. Dolby Headphone via Dolby Digital Live is just hands down hard to beat, even compared to Atmos. The surround sound and audio positioning is just stellar.
0:10 you and many techtubers have covered creative without talking about their horrendous aftercare and planned obsolescence. Many soundblaster z owners like have completely lost encoders options for like a year and many issues we had with the sbz have carried over to newer product lines like audio skipping and jumbled 5.1 speaker sound(center coming out of random speakers etc). They deleted their forums because of all the issues and their subreddit is beyond a joke. When the issue happened they created a diagnostic tool to gather info they got like 50 from the subreddit and then ignored the reports and came out with a new tool like 6+ months later and of course people moved on to newer solutions and had to ditch their sgz.
I can confirm that, got a broken Soundblaster Z as well which changed the 5.1 speaker outputs randomly and the software just didn't work at all most of the time. No product from Creative for me any time soon.
This has happened for most of Creatives existence, they made good sounding products for glowing reviews but then never get the software right, never release driver updates when windows moved between major versions and designed products to die very quickly. I got some 4.1 speakers from them on which the bass unit (master of the others) died after a month, after a year of trying to get them repaired and sent back and several hundred pounds of phone calls (i could have bought multiple new sets) i got them returned, a second set arrived a week later. And then they both died after a month of use.
Hey thanks for this information, I was considering their products, but I think I might stick with things that do not require driver updates.
@@SuperSeigerman I'm using onboard on my x370 crosshair 6 but think I may move to the sennheisser gsx1000 if it goes for 80 quid or so.
Sadly this is true. I use to own an SB Z a couple years ago and loved it, especially the ability to use optical out to my Schiit Modi and still be able to use their 5.1 virtual surround sound. but after they started releasing more new audio hardware, they neglected a lot of their other products, especially in the software side of things. My SB Z for some reason was giving me problems, from random pops to random audio settings changing, while Windows 10 was doing updates and Creative Labs not staying up to date with customer feedback, my SB Z was becoming useless every day. Creative Labs needs to get their Schiit together or else they are going to disappear against these other companies that seem to be doing much better.

This is crazy. I have that EXACT same audio setup. PC37X with the Schiit Fulla 3. Great combo.
I'm 6 months in with my Schiit Stack (Modi 3 & Magni 3) hooked up to my Sennheiser HD600 and it is a dream. For best surround sound I just use Dolby Atmos Headphones software and it's insane. I've never experienced better audio not just for gaming but music and movies and everything.
Clay Davis' favorite brand.
I have a magni3+/modi 3 stack powering my HD6XX's and i love them, highly recommend them to anyone looking to improve their audio
Do you use a mic at all? If so, what was your solution for that? I'm looking at getting either a Magni/Modi or a Hel, but I'm pretty much always on Discord, even in single player games.
@@kevinobrien1026 I just use a blue snowball (usb mic) that cost me about $30 on Amazon and a cheap mic stand that was about $10 to keep it mounted right in front of my mouth, then I just run the usb cable along the stand and plug it into the usb hub built into my monitor, but something like a modmic uni would work well too if you can find a way to run the cable to the back of your computer

Great video, I really like when you do audio gears. I was pleased to hear the microphone sound through all those device, even tho it's not perfectly representative of the reality cause I'm listening through an imperfect speaker system I still can hear a difference and it has directed me toward the schiit hel more than the others. I currently have the syba sonic and it's doing it's job way better than the onboard audio but I still intend to replace it with something else. In the meantime, I'm looking for any suggestion for a small desktop amplifier to power my mordaunt-short bookshelves speakers and use the syba (or it's replacement) as a preamp.
I got GSX 1000 and just paired it with a pretty simple yet powerful SMSL sAp II Pro amplifier and now I still have that amazing 7.1 whenever I want, but volume/power problems are gone :) I am using HD 58X as well
Hey, I hope someone sees this .. I been trying to find the perfect headphone for gaming but I have no idea about audio. So what do you guys recommend me, this Schiit Amp and PC37x or the logitech g935 ? Which one am I going to get better surround sound and cleaner audio to spot enemies in corners and that kind of stuff. Thanks a lot
I would recommend the PC37x. I have the game one but the 37x is just a rebrand so its the same thing. Very comfortable and really good sound quality. I love everything about it. The only minor downside that I haven't really seen many people talk about is the fact that sometimes since the headset is open back the audio coming from the headphones can leak into the mic. But besides that I wholeheartedly recommend it.
Always go for proper audio headphones+amp. Surround sound is a gimmick and so are "gaming" headphones. All you need is decent treble for footsteps.
Stereo audio gives better positioning in games than any virtual surround technology. Surround is nice in some single player games or movies though. Go with the PC37x or similar quality stereo headset(CM MH751/2 maybe?) and if you find the audio lacking, you can then get into dacs/amps.
I am in a similar boat, I am wanting to go for the sennheiser HD6xx and a mod-mic wireless, after my research I think that's a good combo I will be going for in the near future, coming off the hyper x cloud.
Thank you sooo much for your help guys, i will go with Schiit and PC37x. I hope the money is well spent. Again thanks a lot and yall have a great day and stay safe from covid
Q: If i have a Soundblaster Omni 5.1 right now, do i need to change for a DAC or i am just fine?
I would think that your just fine. I wouldn't upgrade unless it's absolutely necessary.
watch BadSeed Tech latest video. he links his part 1 audio video in there and than you will find out if you want one or not.
Headphones first. Unless you have clear problems with current audio source going for new/discrete AMP and/or DAC isn't worth it/going to change anything. If you're not happy with sound invest into new headphones.
if you end up with some powerhungry headphones you are fine, if you get let's say AKG K702 which are hard to power get also FiiO A5, but keep Omni 5.1, microphone quality is best you can get basically because it have 2 additional microphones built-in to leave the noise out, especially if you have loud mechanical keyboard
I had the Omni 5.1 and it's good enough, you won't hear any noticeable improvements unless you buy something much more expensive.
I have the gsx 1k right now and competitive audio is really hurting right now. So I'm happy you made that the first example.
Wow, I have very similar setups! I have a magni 3 connected the gsx1000 to driver headphones and preamp the speakers. Fantastic results as the virtual surround even work with my speakers. This is great for anything really. But I use my Audeze Mobius/hyperx Orbit S more often as it can be quickly disconnected to turn into the Bluetooth mode for convenience, which can’t be said about almost every other gaming headphones. And finally I have fulla-like fav/amp, the iDSD nano bl for music on my laptop. What I learned is that if you want an all in one solution, get an Audeze Mobius/HyperX orbit S and you are done! Great sound, insane versatility, amazing techs, and convenience. Nothing comes closein terms of tech packages it offers.
What should I be looking for if I have a mounted streaming mic and a pear of audio headphones

Perfectly timed video - I'm currently considering buying a Schitt/Sennheiser DAC/AMP
I bought my partner a Fulla 3, but I myself have had a Schiit Magni + Modi MultiBit stack in the past but have since switched back to my Grace Design M9XX. I prefer the M9XX because it's powerful enough to get decent volume even on inefficient planars like my Argon Mk3s, but has such a low noise floor that even the most sensitive IEMs are completely silent. I also like that there are 200 separate volume levels so you can get that perfect volume control as well as has crossfeed which is a nice bonus for those over-exaggerated stereo recordings like some old Beatles' track for example.

It's a product designed for people who play games and use a mic. So yes, "gaming audio."
Games have audio don't you know.
Been using the PC37X paired with a Fiio E10K amp DAC for the past couple years and still loving it.

I appreciate the review. It would have been nice in your testing at the end to include the Sennheiser GSX 1000. I bought this after your earlier review and buying Creatives multiple versions and many other options from Amazon. I must have spent two months trying and trying until I found or heard the the GSX 1000.
I have the Fulla 2 on my desk. It lacks the front mic input of the 3, but it does have an 1/8th headphone jack. They make really nice hardware.
I was looking for a fulla 3 video , and what do you know...right on time 😋😋
Still happy with my Fulla2 for 3 years already paired with Sennheiser HD 569 and Edifier R2730DB
Schiit products are amazing, esp. price/performance. My Modi 3 & Magni 3+ combo is just amazing and I just recently overspent and got myself Denon AH-D7200, because I'm sucker for walnut wood grain (and they sound amazing as they should for the price as well of course).
Just saw your video and it makes me think back of the time I changed towards real headphone audio brands for using on my PC (gaming, movies and music). I ended up with the Beyerdynamic DT990 pro + Sound Blaster Z sound card as it had a headphone out that could drive headphones up to 600 Ohm. I really loved it. I was worried at first because that headphone came recommended by audiophiles which in my book usually stand for audio that is balanced, accurate but no fun at all to listen to (Audio Technica style). The DT990 Pro was not balanced. It actually sounded perfect for my needs as I tend to play more single player games and usually the ones that require more emphasis on soundstage to get better drawn into the game. It, however, was nice for positional audio as well due to its elevated highs although most likely not comparable with more balanced headphones that might offer better performance in that area due to their balanced sound signature. I do get frustrated that often when headphones or headsets are reviewed the games you see are 90% shooters...reviewers, please realize their are other type of players as well that would like to know how a certain headphone or headset sounds when playing RPG's instead. This is alomost never really covered. Now, however, the main drawback is that it is an open-back design and that's just a huge problem in my case as I often play late at night or even during the night. And also, it is wired which forces me to stay at my desk (instead of getting comfy on the bed while watching a movie without the need of a long extension cable. So, to get to the point, your video caught my attention as I was hoping to see a headphone (no mic needed) that has a closed-back design and is wireless (I understand the limitations of wired vs wireless in terms of possibilities) that still sounds far better than the typical gaming headsets. So, might be a bit off-topic but if you did come across some options, just let me know :) For now my Sound Blaster Z and DT990 Pro 250 Ohm remains my best setup for gaming
I’m running my drop Sennheiser HD6xx through the Mayflower ARC MK2. It’s plug and play audio greatness to my ears.
Cool audio setup bro!
great video, I will get the HD 58X and pair them with an X3, I understand your point but that hardware gives me the exact broad characteristics I use as an eclectic music lover and gaming, I searched for combination of X3 with the mentioned Sennheiser in this video and every single person just love the mix
I'm rocking a Creative SoundBlaster G6 dac/amp and a pair of AKG K712 Pro and i absolutely love them for gaming. The 5.1 virtual surround on the G6 works amazingly on these stereo headphones (i can finally hear footsteps in Battlefield V). There's also a Direct Mode for music listening. Also the K712 are very very comfortable and light (230 grams) and together with the wide sound stage makes them one of the, if not the best headphones for gaming at only 180£. I'm playing Battlefield V for 6-7 hours straight and these heaphones never becomes uncomfortable.
tried senn when i used to dj back in the days now when i game my go to is the beyerdynamic dt 990 premium and an m-audio transit pro dac/amp perfect combo imo
I've been rocking my HD 58X and the JDS Labs Atom with a ModMic 4. Excellent setup for the price.
I've been using a Fulla for about a year. It's a great DAC from a pretty cool company.
Happy birthday to me.. I've ordered a Schiit Fulla 3! Thanks for the review.
Is it good :) ?
Got my fulla 3 a couple of weeks ago and been asking around for headphone recommendations, thanks!
How’s it holding up? Have you noticed a difference in quality from using your headphones with onboard audio?
the hel sounds the best to me. 2nd best is the x3, it sounds more compressed compared to the hel and kinda flat. and last the fulla, it sounds kind of cool, but it's too harsh and i guess will be kind of tiring over time. Great video as always! Cheers!
ahh HEL, this is so Fulla Schiit...sweet! I want a 7.1 receiver to connect to my soundcard using TOSLINK. Right now I have Behringer Pro mixer connected to a pair of Near 05 speaker monitors.
You can get surround sound, the same kind utilized by the GSX 1000, or any other surround sound device for that matter if you install Equalizer APO to ANY sound device, and install HeSuVi. I am currently running HeSuVi on a Khadas Tone Board in a mode that replicates the sound I got from my old Dolby Headphone adapter. So you can even add simulated surround sound to a Fulla 3.
perfect timing!
