**IMPORTANT NOTE** Thanks to @OG_pRotality for the tip on the Maxwell. The XBox version does work on PS5, but you have to have the donlge in PC mode and you have to use the USB-A to USB-C adapter to go into one of the rear ports only. Wild, but it works. For those asking about a DAC/Amp - I'm currently working on a video about just that, but in the meantime, I use an ifi Zen Dav v2 as my daily on my gaming desk. It will run 90% of the headphones you'll encounter, has a low power mode for IEMs, and has a really quality bass boost dsp button for headphones you may find lacking. I'll link it in the description if you're able to snag one cheap for the holiday sales.

Can you make an extension on audio 101, or some sort of video that incorporates how interfaces like elgato xlr, or similar fit into the mixture. I am interested in a dac/amp combo but I am not sure how an xlr microhpone or something like the wave link software fits in. Thank you!

I love these end of year videos. I think it really gives a lot of insight to see how you truly feel about something over the long term. Love long term updates - especially for ones relating to gear. Peripherals in general are great to hear a retrospective on.

Happy to know that you had a collab with Joe. I watch both of your videos and that’s what made me decided on the Maxwell. No regrets so far. I also daily drive Sony XM4 but as soon as the AirPods Pro 2 came up, I got that and that has been my daily driver. XM4 eartips wasn’t a perfect fit, after a while, it hurts one of my ear and also had issue with the battery. Pro 2 has been rock solid so far and it’s a good all rounder for a iPhone and iPad user like myself

I love mine, and watching your video when they where in transit did me no good hahaha! Was fun see you into them, I also will keep forever. I have many stereo systems doing differant things, sometimes you just want something that gets ya pumped, exciting - and also might not at a place to be all analytical in. I use these closed headphoens at work with big amp. Highly recommend - for $200 nothing is close what they do, nothing!! Well done Badseed seeing this and being bold to say it! A+ bro

Hey badseed! Another great video. Debating on pulling the trigger for the Maxwells. I have been on the Sennheiser hd800s (tuned for some extra bass). I would love to have a wireless pair of cans for gaming, are Maxwells going to pale by comparison to the hd800s? I mean I know the answer is obviously, but is the difference massive? Or is it worth it for wireless even if you have a high end pair like the hd800s?

Ultrasone bass has always had a special place for me. I still treasure my Ultrasone Pro 2900 and its amount of bass for an open back. I'd still be using them if the foam hadn't completely deteriorated.

Hey Badseedtech, you should try buying foam tips for your airpod pro gen 2. I've been daily driving them with foam tip for a year now and it's soo much better then the silicon tip, it seals better and it fits better, I can wear them to the gym even on my cardio day. Only downside is you need to be careful when you put them back in the case as they sometimes are not making contacts with the charging pins so you need to fiddle with them a bit.
Damn...I watched YT shorts with this guy on, and a comment said that "this guy is for the people" and that he "doesn't beg for subscription" or like and shares...just pure content. (Which I love, btw) very informative and straight to the point. This is why I subscribed. Simple and direct.
Ok, let me get this out of my chest since I discovered this channel a couple of weeks ago….. this guy is AMAZING! I swear, his comments are SO coordinated and organized that he was already answering all my questions as they were popping up on my mind about the Audeze Maxwell. It was like TOTAL WITCHERY!!!! LOL The ONLY question he didn’t answer was where he got those accessories for the Maxwell. Everything from Audio, editing, lighting and video shots were ON POINT! Try iems with pressure holes. The xenns tops were really comfortable for me, and i finally was able to use them for long hours because of the holes.

If you have trouble keeping the AirPods Pro 2 inside your ear try the spin fit eartips. They have a little bit more grip than the original ear tips.

How is the transparent mode on the Sony XM5s? I don't even have an iPhone, but I got the Airport Pros 2 just because I immediately loved the transparency mode on them when I first heard it. Its so good. NC and Sound quality can be compared, but the transparent mode is on a whole other level

Though that was after I went to buy the Maxwell and found that they were on backorder with a 2 month wait. Now I am looking for an affordable headset just to listen to YT and music while on my work PC.

I wish Sennheiser would make a closed back version and wireless version that is similar to the HD560s. I have the 569's now and they're amazing, just wish they were wireless.
Something that never gets talked about when it comes to earbuds, and the deciding factor for me when I went with the Sony WF-1000XM5s, is multi-point connection. I can be gaming on my PC at 6:00am and seamlessly grab my phone and start streaming music for my morning walk without touching a single setting or removing the earbuds.
Do you find any issues with latency when gaming on pc with them? I’ve never been a big fan of using bluetooth audio for gaming.
I don't do a lot of FPS, so it isn't much of an issue, and I only use the earbuds when it's late in the evening or early in the morning. Even if I'm just browsing online, it's nice being able to switch from the PC to the iPhone and back again seamlessly. @@badseedtech

hey Brian, any chance you have tried the moondrop Space Travel TWS yet? seem like a steal at 25$ Also I got the Zero Reds this year as well. they are my daily IEMs now. I havent used anything else that I could actually wear all day and stand up to my gaming/music preferences
560s is my go to for everything, pc38x and tygr 300r are both good and still in use at work but the 560s is my daily driver for music and gaming.

Soundcore liberty 4 for ear buds my god they are solid. Been using for over a year and just wow not one single issue phone calls are great Siri works great and not to mention they are sexy. The case is cool as well. Eq can really really make them shine.

What Schiit DAC/Amp would be good around the $400-600 range that allows me to connect a microphone? I looked at the Schiit Hel but heard it is lacking in sound quality even though it has a mic input. This is my first DAC/AMP setup for gaming and enjoying high quality music outside of gaming. I am looking into DAC/AMPs that allow microphone input or having a second device for microphone routing. I got the signature X headphones because of this video, but when finally got around to use them I didn't get the bass I thought I would be getting. Is this because I need a dac/amp to run them? Or I'm I doing something wrong? I due use Spotify so is that it?
The kiwi ears cadenza are the absolute best budget iems. Ive tried pretty much all of them. The cadenzas compete with $2-300 iems easily. I prefer them over the orchestra lites.

Best headphones for PC gaming?
How long have you had the Signature X for? A lot of reviews on Drop saying how the hinges have broken rendering them unwearable - even after apparent normal desktop usage. This is my only concern and have stopped me from purchasing them over the similarly priced and similar sound signature Meze 99 Noir/Classic.
Do you get the rattle/tinfoil sound on Maxwell when you move your head while wearing it? I just bought it and I have this problem....

I have a possibly stupid question for IEM lovers and enthusiasts... are there any good IEMs that have a mic? The main reason I would be interested in upgrading to IEMs is so I can use them on the go with my phone. I use my phone's 3.5mm jack every single day, and would love to pair it with IEMs... but every pair of IEMs I've seen don't have a mic, which kind of sucks for answering phone calls. Any advice is appreciated!
i can save you some work and effort. im returning the Acezone A-spire, too many flaws. currently trying the TB Stealth Pros, so far already much better. Would love to be able to try the Maxwells, but i can not find them anywhere sadly
I have many headphones. For gaming plainars produce the best soundstage and once you train you brain you can nail opponents with sound location. S12 so good for game audio!

What about the best wireless headset for PC? I'm looking for a work headset that can last a long time 12+ hours, has a good to great mic, and is comfortable. I am not able to install software on my work PC so Logitech is out.

Its just so uncomfortable for so long that its tough to recommend. The clamp force is crazy. Audio wise, they have similar characteristics but you’re gonna get more bass response out of the 990s
When you mention game chat mixing, are there headphones that can mix between game audio and in game voice chat? I switched from console to PC recently and I’ve been struggling to hear anyone because it seems I can only mix between all game audio (game and voice chat) and chat apps like discord, but not mix within the two types of game audio.
No, not in game chat at least not that I’ve ever seen. Only for external chat apps like Discord.
