Having issues getting the PINs back in, any suggestions?
Yeah, those are tough. I used adjustable pliers to force them back in.
What a fantastic find your youtube channel. Great you do things with the is250. I'm gonna enjoy watching what you've done job wise on the is250.
Fantastic, excellent work - thanks for sharing the tutorial.
Glad to help!
Thanks for this great video 🌹🙏🌹
Excellent tutorial!
Thanks for this. Mine is peeling up and I didn't want to start prying at stuff and mess something up. Now also considering changing the color to match my Grey trim.
Glad I could help!
Excellent video. Blessings.
Do you know how to repair/replace the front door pulls? My "leather" is peeling there, also. Thanks
Thanks! - I replaced the cover using your video! I ended up have to file the pins down to help reduce the pressure needed to insert them back when replacing. My cover was much thicker than the original but it seems to work ok.
What staples do you use ? The standard sized ones are too long and the shorter length ones are too weak to penetrate the hard plastic
What size are the Staples. Thanks Christopher
Cant you buy an aftermarket or used lid?
It's so wild how these vehicles are basically gigantic Legos that snap apart and back together 😂
FYI - on my 2010 Lexus RX 350, after taking out the 2 screws, the armrest just slides out rearwards - no need to remove the rear panel etc.
It seems to be the same setup in his video, he just had no idea 😂 He slides it out at 0:53
Where did you get your seat covers? I have the same car and will be doing the armrest repair thanks to you.
This is the brand I been using for all my cars seat covers, pretty good quality and they look really nice in person: amzn.to/44kygfv
The link for the material is not popping anything to buy? Help
Can you do it for a mini cooper s 2016 please eas please
Can I do this replacement with an original fabric (“suede”) armrest? Don’t know if that can be removed like leather can.
How do you remove it though?
This video was very helpful, but the leather is more tanner than the rest of your leathers interior. I got the same Lexus RX 350.
Yeah, might be hard to find a perfect match, but overall it was better then old ugly one.
I am currently attempting this repair, if I did it, it would save me 350! Because that's what the shop wants to replace that piece of leather
How much to get a professional to do this
Do you know where to get this in black?
Use link in the description. They have it in black too.
This is only for newer cars!! The old cars used a shit ton of glue!!
Your staples are barely penetrating and will most likely come apart within the first year of use. Otherwise nice job.
Yeah. Not sure if it the plastic was too hard or my stapler too weak, but re-done the loose ones off the camera. Just didn’t want the video time-lapse to be too long. No one has time for that.
A steamer, staples, a cushion if needed, remove a bunch of clips, pins, see if it fits...... what a messy job.
it is poor quality replacement and color is not match and texture of this china toxic material not the same.
It's best I could find, it was only $20, and it's way better than the original was.
@@DIYtimeTRD Amazon and Ebay are selling all those toxics not automotive quality covers .Made of China recycled garbage. If you want to poison yourself buy them there and install in your Lexus. There is Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 302 Here is what USA law stated about it: 49 CFR § 571.302 - Standard No. 302; Flammability of interior materials. CFR prev | next § 571.302 Standard No. 302; Flammability of interior materials. S1. Scope. This standard specifies burn resistance requirements for materials used in the occupant compartments of motor vehicles.
@@DIYtimeTRD why use use Amazon link? You do not want to poison people to link them to unsafe China product. There will be federal sue against those China products for violating Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 302
@@DIYtimeTRD haters gonna hate! Great vid pal! Also, who wants to pay $250 for something that you can do for under $70 (new tools and fabric).. You did a fantastic job
Looking at his channel name, it seams to me he is just mad that I am teaching people how to do his job DIY, for a fraction of his price...
