About two hundred thousand years ago, perhaps the first war in human history began. HomoSapiens fought over territory and resources with Neanderthals, and this led to the gradual extermination of the latter. But the animals began feuding long before man picked up a stick. And believe me, their wars have always been just as brutal.

  • When I was a kid, two ant colony waged war on a path in my backyard. It went for 3 days and at the end of each day they would collect up their dead and went home. It only ended when one colony was completely wiped out. It was amazing

On the contrary I do believe in God and that He is who He said He is, The Creator from everlasting to everlasting, no beginning and no end. If there were no God space would just be a void, total nothingness, the fact we are here on this beautiful but fallen earth tells us everything we need to know. As to the source of my information for truth I would definitely place God's word the Bible over the internet, even though God is timeless in His Omniscience for whatever reason that I am not to question with my finite mind, His timing and reason to create the universe when he did. His word says that it happened about six thousand years ago and the more recent carbon dating supports that assumption. We are also told He created everything is six literal days and rested on the seventh, the Sabbath. Since we are somewhere near the end of the six thousand year period we will soon enter into the last day refereed to as the millennium or the thousand year reign of Christ. Since we are giving advice you might want to give a little less confidence to the reliability of the internet and maybe take a course in Bible 101, it might just make you proud. Shalom!

  • I love ants, they're like a hole hive mind. Their role in the colony is literally inscribed in their DNA before they're even born. The queen, artillerymen, mushroom farmers, larvae baby-sitters, scouts, hunters and much more in one small pile of dirt. There are even slave-making ants who steal larvae from other colonies and rise them as their own to increase workforce. It's the only animal other than humans that can be seen by millions in a single place, that's why we share more than you think with them

  • The ant you really do not want to ever come across is the bullet ant. Its one of the most painful insect stings imaginable. As the name suggests the sting makes you feel the exact same way as if you were shot with a bullet. What's even more amazing is there are certain tribes that use this ant as a coming of age test. Kids will wear special made gloves full of these little suckers (they can grow to be 1.2" big for workers) and if they somehow don't pass out from the pain, they prove themselves worthy of being future leaders and warriors.

  • Once when I was a kid, I saw an army of ants consisted of three different species (Fire Ants, Carpenter Ants, and Little Black Ants) attack a termite colony in a tree stump in my back yard. At first I just notice the maturing termite royals flying away then the stump was completely swarmed by the ants. I watched in awe as one carpenter ant jumped on top of a termite royal, tear off its wings, and dragged the termite back into the stump. The termite was holding onto the ground for its life but its limb joints were proven to be weaker than its grip and its legs were torn off in the process.

  • my and my relative used to create ant wars when we were little. we would split up, find 2 different species of ants (usually red and black) i would go for either red or black, and he would go for the other. a timer is set, we must gather as many warriors as possible before the time is up. when the time was up, we meet up to a designated location, pour all the ants on a chosen battlefield and watch them run around doing stuff. cant remember if they were actually fighting one another or if they were just confused, and trying to find out where the hell they were

  • I remember watching a video of a bird that will kick at an ant mound so they come out and spray the bird with their "acid" which kills mites and other pests living on the birds. Pretty awesome to watch. The bird doesn't kill the ants, just agitates them enough so they get their free shower.
