Palm strikes are very effective and much safer, but you lose precious range.

@@shumardi1 If the promotion continues I think you'll see more of the old stance. BNF needs to allow open hands striking as in the old days. Jabs might be landed by the heel of the hand just as slaps do knock people out delivered at the end of a hook or overhand. That saves knuckles. I've been on the right end of a bare knuckle punch that clipped more forehead than temple or upper jaw. Guess who hurt worse🤣😢. Another time a wayward punch gave me a broken rt. side small metacarpal break. Not an unusual break but it came from an overhand right and not a hook thrown with my fist parallel to the ground. Well probably as much hook as overhand. Then there was that middle finger knuckle that looked like it was pushed back until the swelling came and it just looked weird. Didn't feel weird. It hurt bad. Glad I grew out of most of that. There is a metal pedestrian door at my house with knuckle dimples but I promise I was controlled. The bedroom and bathroom doors are cheap builder grade. Didn't really mean to hit them. How did I get to this? Is this where I begin with "Bless me Fr. Jeff."?

I love boxing but too many fights not happening and there is far more boxing action in a single round of this than there are in most full boxing fights. Not a sport i would wanna try but deffo worth watching!

It shows you how important the Jab is, which is often underused by some MMA fighters. A good fast Jab is a very good weapon to have and you can control the fight with it.

The polynesian guy was almost successful with the Homer Simpson strategy -- Campbell had punched himself out by the 5th. Also, palm strikes should be scored in this, Bas Rutten knocked some folks out with palm strikes.
Thank god, someone pointed this out (was looking in the comments for this). Open hand strikes are a viable option in bare nuckle fighting. They should not be disregarded.
I gotta give Campbell credit. I underestimated due to the massive age gap but very surgical with his strikes and went to decision. Respect. 🙏
