Glass breaking tip: cover the glass with painters tape, then begin. The glass will break but the tape will stop the tiny shards from becoming tiny airborne weapons.
Use contact paper for quicker coverage!
What about using a glass cutter at the start where the glass aught to break for best effect? And of course wear some protection as well as use tape to have a nice thick brown paper over the whole pane.
Yes. You don't want to inhale glass dust into your lungs. Would you put contact paper or tape on both sides of the glass?
@12:49 Thank you for the advice, thief! 👀
Thank you so much for showing us how not to remove glass, Philipp. There aren't words for the great service you do, the sacrifice you make for the community. ❤
You are very welcome
Love the sarcasm in this comment.😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Put sticky tape so that when you break the glass it stays together 😮xxx
That stomach blur at 6:04 had me dying! You all are flying at this!
😂😂 hilarious how Philipp is trying to blur out his ‘six pack’ 😂😂
Clearly we would be overwhelmed if he didn't.
Dad bods are hot 🔥
Even Philip‘s transition to this week’s ad is funny and intelligent. I like it.
I love how the last rendering was a gorgeous mix of Anna' s blue and Phillipp's orange.
It looks like Ziggy speaks French! 😂 It’s so good to see Benoit doing so well too!
Dog don't understand languages....its the intonation
my dogs did. @@skdoremi6666
Research shows that the average trained dog knows about 165 words. Some even have a vocabulary as big as a human toddler's!
I'm so appreciative of all of the DIY skills that I am able to gain by watching Philipp. Always thinking ahead, never taking unnecessary safety risks, incredible attention to detail, and always willing to give credit to others above himself. 😮
You are very welcome
Do not listen to these people telling you that you are wrong! I personally believe from watching all your videos that you are never wrong, mostly because you always tell us you are right, so we have to believe you.😂😂😂😂😂❤
I love Philip and Benoit's relationship. Not everyone gets (and tolerates) irony. The make such a good team. Philip makes mistakes, Benoit fixes them 😂😂😂
Anna asked us to vote on our favorite renderings and I said #4, definitely, without question that is, until today. The two submissions Philip showed us were gorgeous and both perfectly suit the space. So good-by to last week's number 4 pick and hello to either one of these latest submissions. If it were me, I would be unable to choose between these two exquisite submissions. Compliments to the remarkably talented designers who submitted their renderings. We in You Tubelandia are in awe of you.
Function over form; they symmetry of the centralised ornate bath was nice, but I would rather have the view from the tub. A "dressing chair"in the other corner would create balance with another corner object; I know that bathtime created a relaxed time where my partner would come and sit and chat with me about things, not necessarily in the tub.
I love that all four walls were panelled in the bedroom. I loved both bathrooms. I really really loved that both included murals with trees. Please consider this for the bedroom at least. It makes the room appear so much larger and is so chic! The chateau is missing this! If you dont like these shown there are more modern tree murals available.
Even after these years of watching, I am impressed seeing how Philipp is able to see a solution before any of us even understand the problem.
When I saw you covering your eyes while breaking glass, I was amazed by such a clever and so underated way of considering the "safety first" concept. It reminded me of an old guy who looked for gaz leaks with a lighted candel (I swear, it's a true story) Any chance he is a member of your family, Philipp ? Anyway, the room is improving really fast and I love the idea of bath and shower facing each other, each one with a garden view. Thanks for sharing !
😂
I enjoy the journey of the château, all the Reno’s, Benoit and Phillip’s banter, especially Phillip’s dry humour, it’s hilarious. Thank you so much ❤ 17:14
Last two suggestions of how to layout the bathroom are the best so far!
The singing, the glass breaking, the Ziggy jealousy. Nominate this episode for all the awards.
Thank you for your service in showing how NOT to do electric sockets and wiring, how NOT to remove glass the safe way, and how NOT to dot and dab on plasterboard, can't wait till next week for the next instalment of 'Phillips Way Is NOT The Way'
😂😂😂
OMG the dotting on the plasterboard made me scream! 😂
Love the last two designs. Of those two, I prefer the bathroom with the shower and bathtub by the windows and the blue and orange bedroom of the second proposal. Love seeing Benoit and Vincent again. Thanks Phillip for showing us how not to do things 😂😂😂😂😂
Glad to see Benoit back...
Just love the banter between Philipp and Benoir (and Ziggy).
Philip figured out that ceiling cable issue so quickly, even though he was fishing in the dark. He made it look like finding a needle in a safely packaged box of needles labeled "Needles." I also really enjoy seeing the various languages written in the comment section of this channel. I don't understand them all, but the sentiments are surely all loveliness. :)
your square space ads are the BEST of all the Utube plugs for sponsors!
Avoid glass shards by taping a piece of drop cloth to the top of the window frame, extending 6" on each side. Let the cloth hang freely at least 12" below the base of the window frame. Smack away! You can lift the cloth throughout the process to see where you still need to break. Good luck! And Philip, you need to put on safety glasses!
Yes to the safety glasses! Had a friend with a glass eye 😅
By all the powers of common sense, absolutely YES to Eye protection AND sensible glass breaking with a drop cloth or at least a thick paper taped to the glass! What is Phillip thinking to take such a risk with his eyesight?
WOW those new submissions are incredible. So excited to see which direction you go in.
Love the simplicity of the first design but with the wallpaper of the second. The blue and rust bedroom scheme is stunning!
i think the thing i like most about these paneled rooms is how the door disappears when it is closed. modern doors are such an eyesore
Love the last bathroom shown. I cannot believe the hard work involved, but Phillip you are amazing,
My dog usually pays no attention to the tv but whenever Philip is talking on camera, he comes running to listen with a silly grin on his face. He ignores the voiceovers. It’s only face and voice. It’s adorable.
If you put tape on the glass before breaking it, it will not shatter everywhere. Lovley video as always❤️
16:15 Both interpretations are outstanding, but the Augustino Castro San Martin team truly nailed it. Exceptional work!
See, this is why I love this channel. The range of emotions I experienced in the 30 seconds between Philipp spraying himself with glass shards, and his 69 joke, can’t be found anywhere else.
You two are a hoot! Enjoy how you keep a sense of humor during all this major renovation! Kudos!
11:06 Hello from Nicaragua 🇳🇮, Anna and Phillip!! Let me tell you I always look forward for Sunday because I get to see the amount of progress you have made in the Chateau. Awwww, the last rendering by the argentinians for the bathroom and Master Suite is very, very nice, There is a sense of luxury and comfort as a well rounded idea.
FUN, FUN, FUN video! The suggestions from viewers are truly wonderful. Thanks for sharing...!
Oh I love both of the submitted renders but the last one is perfect! 😍
Your excitement for this project is so palpable. It's radiating joy. 🥰
Fishing wire tip from Connecticut USA; make hole, tie electrical wire to end of something small that high powered magnet attracted too.Put in hole and drag across ceiling with magnet on outside.Easier than fishing wire by wiggling!Looks great Cheers!
Cool idea
Beautiful sketches from Argentina. 💘 It's the best one for the Château. It's not only beautiful and exquisite but their proposal reflects the spirit of a suit and the architecture. It is elegant and fonctionnal.
Philipp, I’ve seen in your last few videos you’ve struggled to fish wire through ceilings. You might want to consider Klein Tools’ Magnetic Wire Pulling System. You use a magnet to to drag the wire above the ceiling to help reduce the frustration and time spent trying to fish wire in confined spaces. Hope this may help you and Anna with your renovations. P.S. my girlfriend and I love watching your videos! They help make the Sunday Scaries much more manageable!
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks for the tip!
Those three rooms are going to be beyond, awesome. Anna has great skill in interior design and some of the renditions are suburb. Anna received some great inspirations.
Ziggy, just adds that special moment in your videos. He’s precious. 🥰Great work by Benoit and Phillip. What a team they make. A comedy routine.😂
OMG. Love the designs with the sink across from the window. A wonderful modern look.
Once again, Philip and Anna, you have made a masterpiece in the renovation of the master suite and bathroom… Which I absolutely love is elegant, but not overstated beauty. Your home just continues to get more and more beautiful each step of the way with each room you complete. I doubt you’ll ever want to do this again but if you do, be sure somebody pays you lots and lots of money not only for your skill but for your artistry and beautiful design work. You bring joy to my heart as I watch you work, and bring new life to the “ bones of this Château”, but also the comical things you both say, as you put your video together. Thank you to the talented experts, who come to assist you in the renovation process. You always find just the right people, and thank you Ziggy, for bringing smiles to our face as you also help to “entertain”everyone😊♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
glad you like it, Vickie!
It seems Philip has a very nice singing voice. Great to see Benoit. Ziggy is just adorable. No matter what design you choose I know it will be beautiful.
Thank you for showing us Benoit's first mistake! You should place a plaque on that wall. 🥳From my long ago criminal 🤔 experience: Put masking tape on the opposite side of the pane of glass from your hammer. Make sure the glass is falling onto a tarp for easier cleanup. It will work itself into floorboards for bare feet to find years later. Do wear goggles, gloves, long sleeves and pants. That glass will splinter and work itself under your skin for months... (I worked in glass for many years.)
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I love windows, i would be very upset to lose a window. Can't beat the natural light. But thats me. You do what you think best for the two of you. Just can't wait to see the finished rooms 😮❤.
Yes agree.
Love watching Phillip and all his talents in wiring and demo! It’s so good to see Benoit doing so well too! WOW those new submissions are incredible. So excited to see which direction you go in.
I really like that youshow the reality of renovation: half the time its just cleaning up 😅
Oh wow! I really like the placement of the sinks in the two new renderings. Also, I tend to take baths when it’s dark out. If you all take baths in the evening, as well, then having a view from the bathtub may not be as important as it seems.
LOL! I am watching this while in my bath in the dark!!
@@teresaconcannon4691 hahaha, see what I mean? 😂😂🙌🏻
Wow. Loved that last rendering!
Suggestion. When running new cabling. Take a string with a small metal item on it put it in the hole and then use a magnet on the outside to move the line in the wall
Cover the glass with baking parchment (much cheaper than masking tape) and glue it on with ordinary PVA glue.
Yeah just glue some paper if you don't want to keep the glass. You could also try using. Glass cutter to cut the pane out and glue something to it to pull it through. Wear long sleeves and eye protection
@@llamafromspaceGood! Someone who also thought of the glass cutter as I did! ty
You so fortunate to have received many beautiful designs from viewers. Philipp, you taught me how not to break glass, while wearing short sleeves, and no eye protection. Lol!! The rooms are coming along especially now that the electrical work is completed. When they are finished you will never want to leave them in the morning.
You are very welcome 😀
Making excellent progress with the master suite, can't wait to see the rest of it unfold!
There are also natural insulation options such as clay mixed with straw. I don’t know to what extent you looked into it or what the downsides of it are, but I heard that it naturally works really well with moisture and is extremely durable and cheap as well.
Can’t wait for the finished project- it’s gonna be lit!!
❤ I love fixing old places
I love you guys videos. It gives me a sense of calm 💐
What ever you decide it will be beautiful!
Great progress. I loved the 2 new renderings, especially the Agostinocastro one. I like the bath between the windows. Can’t wait to see it all completed. Philipp, great job on the electrics 👏🏻😊
Glad you like them!
Philipp ich hätte einen starken Magneten für das Kabel benutzt. Ein Stück Metal an das Kabel und mit dem Magneten an der Decke entlang, um das Kabel durchzuziehen.
Love seeing Philipp and Benoit working together again.
What 2 beautiful renders u've got! The one from Argentina is a beautiful one but I think the bath cannot lose that magnificent view to the garden. Hidden toilets it's such a good idea! I hope u'll get all the best details from all the renders and mix them🎉
The 2nd bathroom proposal is a classic. Beautiful. ❤🇿🇦
Salut ! Can't wait to see how the primary bedroom would look with the ensuite.
Your pure skill, talent and humor is amazing! Good work.
Gosh those 2 new layouts for the bathroom are the best!
I can hardly wait to see this completed masterpiece ❤
Last two designs are my favorites! Either one would be beautiful! ❤😊
Happy Canadian Thanksgiving (weekend)! Preparing the meal and watching the renovation of your lovely chateau! Thankful for your channel and all the smiles it brings.
happy Thanksgiving
Thanks for taking us along on your journey. Your weekly videos are getting shorter. Quite understandable given the time it takes to put them together.
Love proposal number 4 (from Argentina)!!!!!!!!!!
I love the Argentine bath!!
Hello Darlings As usual very entertaining & educational Lots of hugs to the beautiful family & Ziggy 💝💝💝💙🐶
I am loving the messy stage ❤️
Good decision to go with that variable-perm air and water vapor barrier to cover the indoor face of the insulation. And beautiful work by Vincent on both the new insulation with its "smart vapor barrier" and the covering plaster board! Very nice craftsmanship and careful attention to seam and sealing details. Benoit found the right guy to work with, for sure.
The progress you all are making is truly amazing. The various ideas submitted for your project could not be more stunning. So many wonderful ideas. How can you not be inspired?! So looking forward to seeing what you choose for the final design. Hope you have a wonderful week ahead! 💗
Beautiful designs!
I love the second viewing of the bathroom and bedroom that you showed from the person from Argentina
Hurrah! for Agostina, my country fellow... Although she is from Mar del Plata and I'm from Buenos Aires City💕
Youve done such a good job together, it looks great. Your light in centre of ceiling problem, maybe a pair of strong magnets and don't forget to attach the wire. 😁
Perfect measuring..being confident is the trick..being exact is because you guys have had so much practice…home run now…Anna next with the paint brush…we are all looking forward to what will be the end game…happy days to all..❤
I really like the painting murals on the bathroom, i hope anna will do another master piece for the master, light and bright is probably the safe way to renovate the bathroom but i like personalised ones,it may not suite everyone's taste but its a life time reno
I love the blue colour in the bedroom. Can't wait for more.
really, really, really like the first of the new bathroom submissions. the positioning of the fixtures is superb. love the white tile, but I could see something else working as well. the last bedroom rendering gets my vote. glass removing demo was so edifying, much appreciated.
Great that you called in help for this task, it seems nightmarish, even for someone with your skill set, Philipp!
Tons of work. Going to look great!
Lovely to see you all again!❤ Thankyou Ziggy too😂
i love the symmetrical layout of the last render, it just makes sense.
Can't wait to see the end product. 🤗😍
I have been really enjoying watching your channel for some time now. Would love to hear an update on what work you still have to do on the house and its buildings in the future. By the way its all beautiful, well done!
Beautiful plans
I recommended your KZhead channel to other chateau owners from the U.S. who are about to embark on a kitchen remodel. The channel is "Our French Chateau."
I love the design from the people located in Argentina! It’s very classy and bright
Amazing job on the electrical salad, Philippe. How the heck did you ever figure out how to sort that huge mess out properly?? Genius. What a huge amount of work with all the insulation as well. Thank goodness I don’t have to restore a chateau. Whoa!! 🤯 😅😊 PS, tell Ziggy I love him!!
The global architects certainly know how to design spaces. There is the wow factor every time. What a difficult choice you are now presented with. Progress looks amazing.
Loving the solution of the sink at the back with shower and toilet behind. You should still be able to do the tub towards the window and have a lot of additional space for cabinets that way.
Philipp's similes are GOLD!😂😂😂
That second render was stunning, I hope you go for that one :D
❤❤ can't wait to see the results 🙌 😍
Ooooh! Wish I had known you were going to put up plasterboard in the bathroom. Did you know there's a special type of moisture resistant plasterboard made just for bathrooms? I wish I could have told you this last week or so. Then again, never in my life have I seen anyone plaster the sheetrock to the wall. I've only ever seen it screwed in, even on plaster walls. But it makes sense to use plaster on plaster walls. So, you taught me something. Thank you.
Same! I found that very intriguing! I've also only ever seen screws used.
