I've loved this weapon ever since it came out. Amazing to see it getting a buff. The arc is so clean now
and so fast! its easy to land shots and the explosion is sooo much more consistant
Second, has always been my go to, I like it for bots and bugs, and that can't be said about a lot of primary weapons
Ammo capacity hit was rough though

No one ever talks about this but the longer it travels the bigger the explosion is , now with less damage falloff and easier to land shots it’s a short-medoum range beast
I think that’s just the VFX not being scaled by distance
One "downside" that I noticed ever since they fixed the bug where explosion would pull you forward instead of backward, is that since most bugs jump on your face, if you aim at the ground next to them they'll often ragdoll toward you. This means you need to be careful with your follow up shots, otherwise you can easily shoot that corpse too close and hit yourself! (Like around 8:38)
when i have the shield backpack equipped it deals self damage bc the bullet blows up inside the shield, will this issue be fixed soon?

I’m not entirely sure this is a bug… an energy projectile colliding with an energy field? It would make sense honestly. In dune, if a laser beam hits a shield, it causes a mini nuke
They fixed it yesterday.

i love the fact that the plasma shotgun has a unique mechanic, basically the further you are the bigger explosion will be, this makes it alot better for swarms or bile titans
It also has unlimited range, I've played mortar supporting my team being chased by bugs delaying them while stacking up kill count with ease. Though it eats ammo like a madman now, since we know where to place our shots faster due to the increased projectile speed unlike before that TOOK FOREVER TO LAND.
@@cookiewithlove2081 Yea, that ammo nerf hurt to say the least. It is good, but its ammo economy sucks if you want to run a no support weapon (for clearing) build; either that or take supply backpack to offset it, but it likely isn't good enough alone to warrant the backpack. With that said, that is just for bugs. On bots you don't have as much of an ammo problem and it is actually far superior against bots anyway.
@@someone-ji2zbthis gun is good for bots?? How so? I feel like it’s aoe doesn’t get nearly as much value as it does for bugs, and the long range engagements much more consistently test ur ability to arc shots over super long distance
@@agedgouda8809 It sweeps through trashes, staggers devastators 100% Kills scout striders in 2 to 1 shots now and oh... I managed to land a 14-18 kills with this gun on clumped up bot patrols. No headshots required, just point and shoot then measure the angle. It's literally an upgraded scorcher with alittle less ammo and has drop off in exchange for more staggering force and a bit more explosive dmg. I forgot to mention, with the buffed aoe fall-off you can shoot the sides behind the hulks and actually kill it with the splash alone. [But the buff on hulks no longer staggers it.]
@@cookiewithlove2081 interesting, ill haver to give it another look. i remember immediately being turned off bc direct hits to trash units wouldnt kill them, that was baffling to me. hope thats not the case anymore. wont it not kill scouts fast to the front plate bc of their buffed explosive resist? it was a 2 shot for me before the strider buff, id imagine more now. even autocannon kills them in 2 shots now.
well guys it was nice knowing the plasma shotgun... it will be nerfed now because its found a way to deal with bile titans...
Only reason it 'might' get a pass this time, is because they butchered its ammo capacity. It has some serious issues sometimes on bug side, and while it is very good against bots, it isn't the best against them. Then again... they did nerf crossbow rofl
like why did they change the crossbow though :D
An attempt at a positive spin on these patches: there were many times where I was excited to unlock a gun, only to find out that I didn't like it. This gun was one of them. So even though they nerfed some of my favorite weapons, I do get excited again at the chance to re-visit some of the guns that were originally let downs.
pro tip : always mix things up, don't stick to one build more than a few days.

Scorcher worked a lot better with the stomach + rail cannon route as project flight path was a little different. But I will definitely give this a try.
oh my god, i didn't even think of just cracking the titan's armor and smacking the shoulder blade with an eruptor instead; that just made the eruptor my new kill all wep when im taking support all on strategems build...

Its quickly becoming my favorite gun for bugs. Staggering and crowd control alongside aoe makes me constantly get crazy kill counts on bug breaches. The scorcher is my favorite gun for bots and my favorite looking gun. I tried rocking the blitzer but on 7 and higher it just wasnt killing enough whereas the plasma punisher gives me room to breathe. Been runing Quasar, rover, laser and eagle air or other busters alongside grenade pistol and stun grenade. I can stun and cc the mobs usually and make sure they die and I usually have the least deaths as a result. I run lighter armor to get good distance from my enemies to avoid the self damage if i get mobbed. Loving it.
I tried to use it when I had the personal shield active and it collided with it killing me, is this a new bug?
Yes it is bud, can't use it with the shield atm
eruptor can finish titan after railstrike either on the crack or by exploding one ventral sack. i usually rail + 1 shot from eruptor and its done
Does this gun have a bullet in its chamber like 8+1? Like, does it make a difference if I reload with 1 shot left or empty reload?
Strange how i love the blitz shotgun for bugs and for robots either the plasma shotgun or the plasma scorcher

Rewatched the entire vid and i was thinking about the fact you can breach the titan armor 'ith rail gun do the plasma shotgun finish in a few hit the titan after breaching the armor with 1 tir of railgun?

Would it be a good combo Railgun as Support weapon + the Plasma Punisher ? Like you use Railgun to rip off armor and Punisher to finish
Anything that strips the armor can be exploited by the punisher plasma.
Didn't know you and Thicc collabed, very cool. I'm gonna have to run this for bugs now, I've really enjoyed blitzer vs them when it's good, but the arc weapon bugs they haven't fixed really frustrate me when it gets bad. I'll probably take a plasma vacation til they fix arc

Pairing it with the eagle rocket pods allows you to use this in quicker succession I believe. Whops, I hadn't arrived at that point of the video

oddly enough, i loved the plasma vs bots before eruptor came along. yea it doesn't have a long range, but it would basically stun lock all devastators and take out scout striders.
So is this like a better scorcher?
Been rocking Plasma Shotty, Revolver, Auto Cannon. Nothing in the game you can't handle with that loadout. It's primary weakness is fighting up close since you mostly deal blast, so take Stun grenades to deal with getting boxed in. I think people also don't realize how easy it is to shot over cover and never really expose yourself. Super useful.

I like guard dog + quasar, zero gaps in offense. Guard dog negates close enemies & fills the gap with the extra reloads we need now
This seems already patched. I dumped multiple mags into the exact spot where you hit bile titans destroyed armor, yet it doesn't kill. It's giving off red hitmarkers too
Will you do an updated weapon tier list? Cuz there's a lot of changes to the weapons since your last tier list.

If all you need is only to crack off the armour of the titans, isn't the 110mm pods better than the rail cannon for that?

For me, yesterday, when i shot from plasma shotgun, having shield backpack on me, it just exolodes inside the shield bubble and killed melyself) had somebody same issues?)

This gun reminds me of my favorite Primary from Valfaris: Embryon. I'll have to test this gun out tonight. My only concern is it didn't originally destroy mission objectice targeys like eggs.

ngl didnt realize how well the aoe worked, though usually i destroy the bile sacks since its like half his hp, 500kg, railcannon strike, airstrike even can finish it off if you destroy the sacks in neck and tail
Bit odd of an example, since railcannon is literally taking out like 90% of the hp to begin with, and 500kg is capable of 1 shot. Though I don't use airstrike much against bugs, so I am not sure how many bombs it takes on average from the strike to kill it.

The even faster way is use the shot gun to take out the green sacs and a rail cannon or 500 ever rocket pods will one shot it
This or Scorcher seems like a must if you still want to bring the Arc Thrower, although the Blitzer Quasar combo is nuts atm.

Fun! When i first unlocked it i gave it a try, and if felt a little too plodding to me, I'd give it another try! Im getting sick of using nothing but the sickle.

The plasma shotgun is the new eruptor change my mind… Only problem is, I run the energy shield backpack and I learned real quick that you can not run both at the same time 😂

It was never mentioned that using that shotty with the shield pack generator makes your shots blow up in your face lol unless they already fixed it and I was unaware 🤷🏻♂️

No, both plasma guns cannot close bug holes or destroy fabricators despite being explosive. I guess within this game's science fiction plasma explosions are different from regular explosions, maybe more heat but less pressure wave to destroy structures.
@@thelegendaryklobb2879 correct..Impact effect is required to destroy buildings/structures..thats why eagle cluster cant destroy fabricators and bug holes while Eagle Airstrike does
But crossbow can't damage it big sad.

That first titan Yo killed you ran through it with the hell pod first so it 100% was damaged, the gun did not kill it from 100% health

Eruptor for sure. Only real problem being the ammo capacity nerf on it, but plasma shotgun also lost a third of its capacity, so they both have ammo problems right now.
Plasma is better and more forgiving and faster and has better ammo economy and is better for add clear and doesnt have slow handling, that said ERUTOR can most def get the job done as well
I need to keep playing with this weapon. When i used it. It just pushed enemies around w/o killing anything.
it does same damage as the Scorcher for bugs, so if scorcher takes 3 shots for medium armor so does this one

Yea, though as he said in the video, I tend to agree that scorcher just isn't as good against bugs compared to the likes of plasma punisher or eruptor if we are looking for splash. Scorcher also has an even worse ammo problem against bugs than the nerfed capacity of plasma as well.

yes! it destroys chargers to be honest very easily
I think this weapon is super powerful, but still balanced, as it doesn't have too much ammunition.

However, just tried it, still has a ton of drop and slower fire rate compared to what I'm seeing here.. Not sure what's up; you're showing minimal drop at mid range, certainly not what I'm experiencing

The punisher plasma is broken though! If you wear it while you have the backpack shield equipped and you're not using the scope on it, it will insta-kill you!!!
Use it with the shield and you have a capsule of self detonation.
trust me I learned that the hardway :D and I kept doing it for like 20 mins :D:D:D

today is 5/9. 8 days later. is this still accurate?
it is 5/17 and it looks like no. I am not able to replicate anything similar with killing chargers by hitting the sweet spot of the back legs/butt, and it absolutely will not ever kill a titan that is not already very vulnerable to dying. The one-shotting an undamaged titan was either a lie or has been patched. It’s okay for mediums and killing the smalls in one hit. But also very very easy to kill yourself unless you want to be switching to your sidearm to kill small bugs at your feet. For actually divers doing 7-9, the video is very misleading. Does not perform accurately to as depicted here

Facts. Dumped 16 shots into a group of god knows how many stunned hunters coming out of a breach and into a static field. I only killed 5...
than u placed the shots wrong, I have kileed 4 hunters with 1 shot, its about placement, if u shoot 16 shots into STUNNED hunters and couldnt kill them its 100% not the guns fault u just placed the shots wrong

I actually just tried it against automatons and it's absolutely God tier because the blast radius is so big and staggers like crazy you can take out groups of devastators in 4 to 5 shots.

Would be great if you didn’t run out of ammo in 2 minutes using this gun. Makes it significantly less appealing. Stupid ass nerfs reducing ammo supply on a lot of guns.
