Two important notes: The older model now supports 120Hz as well. And you’ve shown the Nintendo Switch with the Airs plugged in directly. This isn’t possible. Figured your viewers might want to know that. Also to keep in mind: The Beam doesn’t support 120Hz, as it’s utilising 72Hz for the 'spatial' stuff. Also when using the Beam, you’ll have slight input latency for gaming and HUD elements can appear jittery when the spatial window adapts to your movements. (Source: I got a pair of these + Beam.)

I have the originals, if you ever fly they are awesome. I use them almost every night in bed watching youtube before I sleep as well.
here comes buyers remorse my friend. I felt the same about a tablet PC. I bought it, used it twice and that was that. I knew I had no use for one but I had to buy it anyway. I cringe every time I see it on top of the wardrobe, never again....maybe:)

As someone who has nevern cared or even thought about buying wearable tech this seems legit very cool. I hate travelling and being able to relax as much as possible without hurting my neck looking at screens sounds like an absolute life saver.
They are fantastic for travel.
When they can display some information from the car it'll be a real game changer. It'd be great to have the speedometer on there
I took my xreal air glasses and a steamdeck on a trans pacific flight and the glasses definitely saved my neck!
@@chiquita683 Why not just focus on HUD tech and less about wearables in a vehicle. Lot more safer and accurate with the vehicle compared to something you are going to wear

great interview. i'm definitely considering the xreal air 2, looks awesome. it would be super cool if the airs could do the screen pinning without the beam, either with just a cellphone and a little bit of hardware in the glasses, or if cell phones had the hardware built in. if i were pj i'd entertain the idea of licensing or wholesale selling the xreal beam hardware/software stack to samsung, and maybe to apple too. would be a selling feature of phones for sure if you could plug in glasses and pin the image off to the side of your vision, and maybe save that config/setup so you could quickly get to that setting with a buttonpress on the glasses or phone. it would literally be like google glass, without costing 1000$, - you could use it while riding a bike, running, etc. it would really be cool if the xreal beam functionality was just baked into all modern cellphones.
I'm glad there are still companies like these out there.

It's very nicely made. A huge step forward indeed. I wonder when we could have a pair of AR glasses as superb as XReal that could interact with users and the real world via visuals and hand gestures. Now, its just a beautiful display for your devices like mobile phones, computers, etc.
I am starting to think that most channels who review those glasses gets paid to do it by manufacturers script. The reality is far from what it is shown in most of those videos. I bought Air 2 Pro, and it is a lot of fiddling to make them work, and they do not work like in the advertisement or this videos. It is not much of an AR, it is basically a monitor. Also if your phone, pc or game console does not have a full featured USB 3.0 type C it will not connect wired, it will if you have Beam Air it will connect wirelessly. But you need to have it paired to your wifi, but your phone can of course be a hot spot if you want to go outside with it. And if you want to do something fun with it you need that Nebula app and that is only in few selected countries. And the worst thing is the picture you get tend to float away from you and it has blurred edges. But if you are a tech nerd like me it is a cool apparatus and is fun to play with, but AR are still far from being what we want it to be. And there must be a better way to adjust the picture you are getting. Like in side view mode you need to be able to adjust the size of the picture and even rotate it. You can´t see anything what´s going on with those 4 squares...

when watching a movie (say for long flights) - can you connect air pods or the built in speakers work well despite the ambient noise from the plane?

Same. I am a digital nomad and a multi-monitor setup on these AR glasses would be god send but their focus is not on productivity but entertainment sadly.
these might just be the future of gaming and office work - i keep thinking about how to maximize comfortable when i'm literally on the computer for like 10 hrs a day working/gaming. this + a split keyboard might be just the solution im looking for.

Great hardware but software support is the issue. I own the original airs and I am still waiting for them to fix the virtual desktop software that was broken by the latest Mac OS update. Focus on getting the software working before releasing new hardware.
They released the fix yesterday. Go get the new Nebula for Mac 0.6.0
I bought mines after i saw your video last year, I get them from Japan because no shipping to Norway 😅 I use them mostly for my steam deck and next week for my lenovo legion go, but i think is not worth it the upgrade ,thank you very much for the video 🤩👍🏼
Seems like they really focused on the issues with the first batch. I had to get my ear part replaced because it cracked. However they literally sent an ups to come pick it up from my house with no charge. I was really surprised and skeptical honestly. I doubt that will last forever but I thought it was worth noting. The nose piece was very uncomfortable especially depending on your face shape. I would recommend them. I use them for my Steam deck. I just wish there was a way to charge my devices while using the glasses. Kinda wish they talked about the FOV. If the display was just a but bigger. It would aliviate so many issues. But either I missed it or they didn’t say. But too bad they had no app for iOS. There are updates I can’t do since I don’t have a pc. But regardless if your thinking of getting this go for it. I told 8 people at work about it and they all got it and love it
I hope they come out with the air3 with everything else built-in like the 3 display modes from the Xreal Beam and HDMI adaptor to plug into your gaming/work desktop.
I have the first model and I think I’d rather wait another generation or two before I upgrade. The main thing I want is proper spacial computing within the glasses, without the need for the Beam. The only compelling thing to me in this iteration is the dimming function of the pro model, because that’s something I really wanted. But it’s not enough of a reason to upgrade
They just copied the dimming function from Viture, and literally no other upgrade on air 2
It is probably gonna take a while for the beam to get small enough to be a part of the glasses.
Why couldn't they use the processing power of the phone instead of an extra thing to carry?? Like, just release an app or something...

Hi. Nice video thanks @TheTechChap. I am seeking AR glasses that can project actual AR on them (i.e. overlay a future building plan to be seen overlaid on an empty site) rather than just watching a movie or playing a game. Do these glasses have sensors (esp IMU) to know where someone is looking in real space? If not, does this exist in a “glasses” form, rather than VR headsets? Any pointers are appreciated. Thanks!

can they be adjusted for pupil distance, or is that fixed? ie if your pupils are further apart than what this is setup for then youre going to be slightly cross eyed to see the screens which will cause massive eye fatigue after a while.
I’ve only had my pair of xreal glasses version 1 for like 2 months! If I knew that the second version was coming out I would have just waited lol but I’m still happy with my version 1s
P.J. I think this product is so exciting! I am visually impaired and I purchased the first generation with very high hopes. Unfortunately I am one of those people that the additional eyeglass fitment will not work for my particular ailment. I would love to revisit using the new Xreal 2 pros if there could be some software adjustments to App that could allow people with visual impairments to adjust the font size. Like you can using accessibility features on your phone.I kept having to readjust mine on my face and it kept turning them off. It was so close to being a miracle for someone like myself. Keep up the good work 👍

Hi do you think it’s worth going for the pro model for the dimming lenses, would be using it for gaming and movies in a well lit room. Looking at the video 35% and 100% dimming looked very dark. Would like to see what’s around me when using this.
The electronic shutter is really cool not gonna lie. I'm starting to envision how these with something like the steam deck and wireless keyboard and mouse could make a neat laptop replacement for coffee shop coding. Too bad the euro prices are still quite expensive.
It's a fun way to ignore someone, just shrug your shoulders and hit the shutter button.

These look so awesome! I’ve been wanting something like this for my legion go. The only thing I worry about is how it affects the performance of games? The finals already struggle a bit with the fps, how is it on this screen? I also wonder if there is any bad input lag with it? And could someone explain to me the FOV on this? Does it really matter? It’s just a “virtual screen” like you would use an external monitor right? So the FOV slider in game is what matters anyways I would assume?

I have the original pair, and I got the XReal Beam, and I've recently been using them while mowing my law. So long as it isn't too bright of a day, I can see the screen fine using the side view. I'm seriously contemplating this new Pro model so I can use the dimmer on it to make it even easier to use. I'll be using them the shovel the snow here soon!

Curious about the new Xreal air 2 pros, I gave the nreal airs, rokid max, and viture ones a try over the past year or two and they weren't comfortable on my nose, also I couldn't get a good fit so that the screen was fully visible. Additionally I've got a pixel 7 so can't use it with that either (which doesn't appear to have been resolved with the 2 pros, damn you google).

Since I've never had a VR set before, can it adjust "diopter" value or something? (like in DSLR viewfinders) bcoz I don't need glasses to see far, but now I need glasses for reading letters... thanks

I have them and also bought the Rokid Max, I like them a lot better but don't like the cyberpunk look too much. Probably will sell the Air 1 and buy the 2 Pro.
It would be nice if I can connect the same to my Xbox and I can watch movies.the view in this glasses with 130inch Virtual screen and sound from my home theater with Dolby Atmos now that's really a game changer... hopefully waiting for that one so I can have the best experience back home 😉

How does it work with windows 11 for productivity apps? Mainly thinking of how snapping windows works, whether we can create more displays etc.
I just bought the Air in Aug and got my prescription lenses made only yesterday to fit in this🤦♂️. i wish i waited a month. But honestly, device apart, Nebula has stopped working on my Mobiles with the latest upgrade. If you guys can look into software it is truly going to be useful beyond being a large heads up monitor that it is now. I had bought the original ones from your review.
Hi are the pros completely clear when on the clear option (you can see everything through) or are they the same as the original airs? As with the original airs the actual micro Oled displays were also tinted slightly
Hi, saroorpince! The light transmission value of Air 2 Pro is different from the value of the original Air even under the maximum brightness level. The value for Air 2 Pro is lower.

Been following nreal for years, waiting for the first truly wireless version to launch (my guess the 3rd gen will be the one to buy) along with some real XR compatibility beyond just a screen.
By make it wireless, it means they have to put a battery, which will make it so heavy and uncomfortable. They design it for long time use, so comfort is a big deal. So, no, I dont think they'll make it wireless
@@aryo7781 My only wish is for increased FOV. 46 is really not enough for a movie theater experience. It needs to be at least 70. If that's the only improvement they make for the 3rd version, maybe along with the spatial features being available without the use of beam, then it would be an instant buy for me, even at $500.

Is there a big difference in image quality between xreal air and the 2 newer ones. Can you describe the differences. Does the newer ones have the mode where the screen stays in place without using the adapter? Thanks!!
Hi, mourad! The image quality on the Air 2 series is better due to the latest Micro OLED and color calibration on the new ones. But the new glasses still require Nebula or Beam to pin the virtual screen and adjust the size.

@@blackntan , Not bluetooth, but Wi-Fi. The answer is obvious, they will not look like sunglasses, because the battery will be large.

Anyone know if I can have multiple "monitors" floating in these on a Windows computer? If so do I need the extra 'beam' device to make that happen? I'd relaly like to run 2 or 3 screens on my work laptop, while traveling. (like in a hotel)

I've got a pair of the Air 1's, for travel think they are great, i haven't had them long enough to want the upgrade just yet. wondering if the virtual screen on the new set are the same scale when you're using them?. The Sony screens are smaller, hoping what you see isn't 10% smaller.
The FOV remained the same, 46 degrees, as the previous model. And in the video 7:00 he talks about it

That's an appealing device, thanks for the review. I tried a similar device a while ago and, unfortunately, it was not a comfortable experience because I'm prone to motion sickness.

Hi Tech Chap, Can you answer a few questions that may switch me to the xreal glass. (Curently using bose frame tenor) Does it support Bluetooth hands free incoming and outgoing phone calls? Can you use it as everyday wear prescription glass? With the prescription lens inserted, does the projection screen interfere with looking to the outside world. I know xreal is not intended for everyday wear but if it comes close, will definitely buy it. Thanks
Hi, flourcraft. The XREAL glasses do not have wireless connectivity through Wifi or BLE. However, the audio from a phone call can be transmitted through the glasses. It is recommended for users to use the glasses responsibly and take a break every 45 minutes to 1 hour. With the prescription lens, users can have a clear view of both the virtual and real world.
Can you replace completely outside lens with prescription lens rather than use the clip on lens?
Can you keep the xbeam charged while in use so the battery won’t drain?
So the xreal were the only AR glasses I didn't think looked goofy. The only issue I had was I wanted them to be 120h. So I guess I don't have an excuse now.
The first Airs do 120Hz too by now. Came with a firmware upgrade.

It's a pointless upgrade, I can't belive they're doing this. No resolution improvement, no FOV improvement, no efficiency improvement... It's just a cash grab what's going on... And they still haven't released nebula for windows. Even if they did it only supports high end graphics cards. Ugh so disappointed.

Hi, ninomendoza! It depends on your requirements. If you require the dimming control function, then Air 2 Pro is more suitable.
I heard mixed reviews about the sound but cant i just use bluetooth for the sound?
does it have room tracking like quest 3 have? I see how content is just fixed to the lens, am i missing something?
Hi stan! The Air 2 series glasses only support 3Dof and don't come with cameras, so they cannot scan the surroundings and track room.

Hi, shalinadira! If the dji fov supports 1080P video output through USB-C and DP, then the glass can be connected and work as a display.

Have you tried this out with the new OnePlus Open? I know Pixels obviously don't work and Samsung has a full Dex experience. Just wondering jow it works on the newest phone from OnePlus
One thing that was briefly mentioned, but not really explained at length is the prescription glasses attachment for the Air 2s. I wear glasses, so I'm interested in how that would work. Bear with me a second here. I know it may seem obvious, but to be more specific, if I wear glasses normally do I have to have the prescription lenses just to use the Air 2s for content, or are the lenses strictly for viewing the rest of the world normally through the Air 2s, not the content? Is there a focus function once you've got the Air 2s on, or is it just WYSIWYG? A little more information on this particular part would be most welcome. Enjoyed the video!
They don't have diopters, so yes, you do need something to correct your eyesight to use them. Not that diopters are great, as they only work well if your vision is within their range and can't correct for things like astigmatism.
