  • It was a great match to watch. Fritz was confident that he would be beat Stefanos again and he did. I stated yesterday that Stefanos needed his 1st serve and needed to come to the net in order to get the win. Although he had 12 aces in the match, serving at 63% first serve% will not do it against players like Fritz. He is a great returner of serve and he won the majority of points when Tsitsipas gave him a 2nd serve. Stefanos once again did not attack the net as often as he should have and he paid the price. He underestimated the power of Fritz's groundstrokes on both sides. I am a huge Tsitsipas fan and support him always, but I have predicting for some time now that he is travelling on a slippery downward slope. We see players like Fritz, Zverev, Sinner and Rublev constantly improving and really coming out with specific game plans when they are playing specific opponents. Stefanos needs to start doing the same. He has become too stagnant and the reluctance to do something other than depend on his game has cost him dearly. He needs to strategize more, study his opponents better and really explore their weaknesses as they have done with him. My past prediction is that Tsitsipas will not make it past the 4th round of any major this year and fall out of the top 10. As a devoted fan, I really hope I am wrong, but so far the stats and odds are favoring me being right 😔

    @chrisstrifas2462@chrisstrifas24623 ай бұрын
    • @Chris: I could not agree more. I have stated prior that I regard Tsitsipas as one of the players with the best arsenal of shots. Not sure about his psyche though. AT some stage there was a lot of talk about his team. Ever since people have just given up on this subject. It seems he too does not consider any changes and my prediction that he will fall below 10 in ranking look more like to happen. There are a number of very hungry players out there. Besides Sinner and Rublev, Fritz, Zverev, Alcaraz, Med, there are many newbies that give everything to get to a place further than he is. Frankly I dont see bim beat players like Shelton, Pul, Fils in GS or 1000 Format. With losses like this one everyone knows that Stef can be beaten by anybody. That makes it doubly hard for him. It seems to me that Stef has other things on his mind right now. As I said before - that is only human. On the ATP top 10 stage it is not enough though. A Top20 Tsitsipas appears to be much more likely in 2024 / 2025 .

      @maxiiiiii6106@maxiiiiii61063 ай бұрын
    • @@maxiiiiii6106tsitsipas can thrive with his current tools. His serve and forehand are a lethal combo itself, especially the serve +1. Right now his back prevents him from serving at his usual level, and yeah his backhand is just always gonna be a liability no matter how much he adjusts it. But Tsitsipas' footwork to go around the backhand and hit an inside-in forehand or cross court is probably the best in the game, and he covers it so well that he makes his forehand vulnerable which is what we saw with Fritz's bhdtl. Still think hope he can be top 5 again

      @ronnie9077@ronnie90773 ай бұрын
    • I dont see anything wrong with any of his shots. What's needed is mindset and team adjustments. I am repeating myself. It is quite sad that a player with this arsenal does not seem to know how to employ it wisely.

  • If the AO organizers choose not to display the Russian federation flag of the Russian players playing because of the invasion of Ukraine, then they definitely need to black out the USA flag because of its current occupation of Syria, Libya and the countless war crimes the USA has inflicted on the world.
