  • Cood design - I like it. Everyone is a critic, especially those who have the full gamut of tools at their disposal. Just having the tool for the purpose it was intended is sometimes all you need. Great work.

  • Simple and effective design. I think rounding out the hammer face to be ball shaped may help with striking angle, but raises complexity and other striking issues. (yes issues with striking, but pun accepted. what is that a double entandre-something?).

I am expanding my skills in learning basic blacksmithing skills making knives and straight razors I chose these 2 because I can readily use my skills as a jeweler and artist and embellish the handles.

Or an older but a goodie. I'll give you a hand lol Don't get me wrong. If there was an old couple that needed something fixed toilet, water problem, water leek, I would help them before I'd do the paying job. Now I'm only 56 and my body is shot!! • Any idea how much sound it generates? I would suggest measuring decibels when running around 30 strikes per minute from 20 ft away like used for generators, perhaps? My muni code specifies how much 'noise' may acceptably cross a property line.

    @1noryb@1noryb2 жыл бұрын
    • No Idea what DB level It would be but I imagine it will depend on how noisy your anvil or striking surface is

  • This looks like a really great setup! I know some of it will depend on the sledgehammer used, but what's the approximate distance from the 4x4 to the head of the hammer? Trying to figure out if I can squeeze this into my shed; a press or power hammer is likely overkill for the small hobby stuff I'm doing, but this looks like it could be exactly what I need!

  • I like your system. May i ask in the use of this what is the difference between this hammer and air drive vertical hammer in respect to type of work each can do. Ì like you I work on a very small budget in my shop so I may teach the young kids about this art. I like. The hammer a lot but at this time I do not need 2 tools doing the same job. Hope this made since. How can I hook up with you so I can send pics or my stuff. God's speed my friend Stan

  • Roy, that's a pretty neat kit but it would look better if you were able to get proper length bolts. I think it's kind of ugly with long bolts where they don't need to be and too short of bolts where they don't stick all the way through the nyloc nut. I wonder how hard it will be on a 2 X 4 wall with all the vibration. God bless you, your family and your business!

    @michaelboyle1983@michaelboyle19832 жыл бұрын
    • Thank you for the input 🙂 the reason why the bolts are long is because I needed it to go completely through the hammer area so that the threads won't be battered By the hammer handle... You can always shorten those.. The ones that appear too short are actually proper length just backed out a bit to adjust the friction and operation of the hammer... God bless you and your family as well 😊

    • Travis please, get over it, Roy has worked hard to get this out to smiths who don’t have fabrication skills to design and build their own, its a good option if you have a want and need and just want a simple start to heavy hitting machines! I wont buy one, don’t need, I have the skills and equipment to build one, actually thinking of adding a treadle hammer “attachment” to my power hammer! I say well done to Roy, Im sure they will sell, its a great addition to any small smithy!

As such is the case, sales are quite the necessity to do little things like keep the lights on and feed the wife and children, not to mention create and edit the video content you do like to watch for free. I do hope your having a good day each and every following day to come. Blessings now Crawford out 🙏🔥⚒️🧙🏼‍♂️
