I didn't see any full length videos on how to install this intake, so I figured I would show you how I did mine.
Get the intake here: amzn.to/3WbDrbJ
About to do the same install on my own 04 Yukon XL Denali with the 6 liter engine. Can’t wait to hear it. Thanks for the instructional
Dude, stop stop those. It takes our trash man don’t buy into the crap that they’re going to make the car better it’s luggage it’s inefficient. If anything, you can buy an air intake tube, which is less restrictive and leave the OEM.
great video thanks!! mine arrived yesterday and ill use your video this weekend when i install!! thanks
Good video! I had mine almost installed and couldnt figure out for the life of me what that vibration dampener did! I still dont know after watching the video, lol. I did click on ypur link, not sure if that helps since i already bought one. The one thing I disagree with is, this should give you more power due to how badly choked down the factory intake is! Now, it wont be a lot UNTIL you do something with the exhaust. more air in needs more air out! For those of you that are basically just backyard mechanics, which is most of us, maybe I can give you a tip or 2. Any time you add something like a cold air intake, it WILL change your air flow which means the factory tune will be off a little. when you add exhaust it changes it more. Even cheap cold air intakes will get more air through the mass air flow sensor, which will change the reading the sensor sends to the computer, and since these engines come on the rich side from the factory, adding more air helps. I would also recommend changing the air flow sensor when doing a cold air intake. Now get rid of that trash can muffler and let your engine breath! hope these tips help! Again, good video, the directions they send suck! Mine was all smudged like the printer was almost out of ink.
Already did mine before I saw your videos. Nice job. 2006 Tahoe 4x4
yea we got plenty of room on ours with the electric fans!
Price wise is a great deal. Performance will be checked once I receive it. Thanks for the vid
I just installed the same one on my truck today and this video was really helpful 🫡 mine is a 2003 and has a fan but still cleared it doenst rub against the plastic trim or nothing
Thanks for this!!
Not lying it does make it look a helluva alot better!
Quick follow up to my previous comment.... I figured out what that vibration dampener bolt is for! In your video yours is pointing in towards the filter, my tube came with a long metal bracket that comes off the bottom of the tube and goes on that bolt that should be pointing out away from the filter that the metal bracket on the bottom of the tube bolts to. Also it`s real tight getting that filter in with the air flow sensor basically up against the housing. I will add a couple pictures if i can. The directions aren`t very good at all and they dont explain anything really, so they should compensate you for giving instructions for installing their system!
Thanks for the video, the plate taken out at 2:10 i actually just took the bolts out of and fit the air box to it and installed it that way since i live in canada, and i drive on a tonne of gravel i was worried about water, slush and dust possibly coming up through that hole and into the filter (the plate on my 6.0 has a much smaller opening than yours) and it looked like it was meant to stay there so i left it. I also read something a gm mechanic wrote about air intake boxes, he said if the box is not installed properly the warmer air from the bottom of the engine bay can go up and into the intake. Probably doesnt matter either way but just figured id comment incase it might help anyone. I also went ahead and bought an air filter bag for it just to be extra safe. Thanks again
got one for my 07 avalanche! thanks!
Its actually choking ❤
I bought the same intake but ended up ordering a 4 to 3.5 coupler cuz I didn’t like the way the MAF fit.
Awesome video
I did a CAI on my 2000 Tahoe 5.3L with a muffler delete and it sounded good like this but didn’t notice any change with mpg or acceleration. But I have a 04 Tahoe with the 5.3L now and it has stock air box and stock exhaust and this thing rips. The gas pedal is touchy and it gets down forsure. Feels way faster then my 2000 Chevy Tahoe
Yea I'm not sure if they actually increase the mileage or anything. I just wanted my engine bay to look cleaner
So informative 🤓
So are you :)
THANK YOU SIR
I actually bought this for my LS 6.0 chevelle and it worked great.
I put one in and had better throttle response and acceleration. Made a WORLD of difference though .
Yea its looks and sound for me
Sounds like that thing got turbo lol I’m getting one today you sold me
I bought one back in 2020 and I think it made my truck a little sluggish. Switched back to the stock setup with a K&N filter.
Will need a tune with any intake tbh
What if i got a tune already due to a cam swap @soicydavedahtech
@@lanifx4175that tune didnt cover the air sensor duh how is the computer supposed to automatically detect you have changed intake systems sometimes the cole air intake will tell u if u need a tune but if its 100 percent noticeable that the tube is larger then oem or smaller it needs a tune
@@ulyssesguidi9960 thanks
@@ulyssesguidi9960my service advisor said some intakes dont require a tune He Told me to diconnect the battery before install and after let it idle for 10 min
Thank you. Very very much.
no problem at all!
How has it been holdin up ever since the install ? Been thinking about giving a try
Have had zero issues yet. No check engine lights or anything. Been running fine. I really don't think it's any faster, but the engine bay is cleaned up so much
@@beardedreviews I have a 2005 Yukon Denai xl. I'm getting true duals and a diablo tune installed. Do you think the cold air intake will add to the extra horsepower or should I keep the original air box?
@@madwestboy if you’re tuning then an air intake should do some minor improvement in hp
Thanks 🎉
no problem
What else is done to the truck
Thanks for the video I didn't no they made 9ne for the 4.8 just ordered mine
youll make minor gains if the exhaust is freed up at all more in more out
just a few tugs should get it up!
lol :)
What is the best air cold intake for yukon 5.3 2008 Volant or S&b or k&n or.........? Thanks
I honestly couldn't tell you. I dont think any of them really perform all that great. I just did mine as an appearance modification
I just understand why people still buy those so-called “air intakes” they’re nothing but trash dude stick to OEM. The OEM airbox sucks air from the outside. How is that not better? The only thing that I can say bad about it is the air intake tube, is restrictive. But there is a solution, you can buy the aerator air intake tube, which is a straight pipe from the intake to the throat of body. That is what you should’ve done instead of buying that trash oven intake.
Ummmm....it pulls air in from the exact same place lol. I said in the video I'm not doing mine for speed or anything, but just to clean up the engine bay. Calm down, bud
@@beardedreviews I am calm I’m just stating my opinion. Geez, you don’t have to get butt hurt about it.
Ls is car motor and vortec is truck and suv you don't have a ls
Nice try
The LM7 is the 5.3 Vortec. It’s based on a LS motor. Also I would wrap that intake tube up, since it’s metal and the metal will cause the air being sucked in to be hotter. Mine came with a K&N intake when I bought mine, and the guy who had it before me had it tuned to get the faster transmission shifts, and the remapping of the MAF for the intake, but if you wrap that metal intake tube it should be equivalent, minus the tune.
Wrong _o
