It’s the summer of 1983 in the north of Italy, and Elio Perlman (Timothée Chalamet), a precocious 17- year-old American-Italian boy, spends his days in his family’s 17th century villa transcribing and playing classical music, reading, and flirting with his friend Marzia (Esther Garrel).
Elio enjoys a close relationship with his father (Michael Stuhlbarg), an eminent professor specializing in Greco-Roman culture, and his mother Annella (Amira Casar), a translator, who favor him with the fruits of high culture in a setting that overflows with natural delights. While Elio’s sophistication and intellectual gifts suggest he is already a fully-fledged adult, there is much that yet remains innocent and unformed about him, particularly about matters of the heart.
One day, Oliver (Armie Hammer), a charming American scholar working on his doctorate, arrives as the annual summer intern tasked with helping Elio’s father. Amid the sun-drenched
splendor of the setting, Elio and Oliver discover the heady beauty of awakening desire over the course of a summer that will alter their lives forever.
Armie Hammer,
Timothée Chalamet,
Michael Stuhbarg,
Amira Cesar,
and Esther Garrel

  • This is that "once in a lifetime" kind of a movie, that just moves you and you never can feel the same way again about life and yourself.

    • I don't understand the fascination with this movie except for its music which is divine. Chalamet 's acting was good, but there was no chemistry between him and Armie. It didn't really feel that sad at the end, because Oliver was pretty distant anyway throughout the movie.

  • Twenty years was yesterday, and yesterday was just earlier this morning, and morning seemed light-years away. “I’m like you,” he said. “I remember everything.” I stopped for a second. If you remember everything, I wanted to say, and if you are really like me, then before you leave tomorrow, or when you’re just ready to shut the door of the taxi and have already said goodbye to everyone else and there’s not a thing left to say in this life, then, just this once, turn to me, even in jest, or as an afterthought, which would have meant everything to me when we were together, and, as you did back then, look me in the face, hold my gaze, and call me by your name.

  • Not even a week back I finished reading both the novels cmbyn and find me.. I cannot get them out of my mind.. Elio and Oliver have just got such a special place in my heart.. thankfully I discovered the gem called CMBYN in 2022.. because if i'd've read it before the release of find me, I'd be damaged by the agony of their separation..the depiction of their love is so intense and yet so deep and so pure . well, Even before reading CMBYN I've always been a supporter of LGBTQIA+ rights.. I am a straight woman...few days back I was chatting with a guy on tinder..he was asking me something and I told him I can't answer his question because I can't get over the novels I read.. he said he can't read gay romance..well I just deleted my tinder profile.. for me love is unconditional.. and love does not see the gender.. we don't choose the person.. i believe our hearts chooses the person.. let their be a world full of love ❤️🙏

    • @@sosickandtiredofalltheneed568 Totally agree with you. I was utterly disappointed by "Find me". And not because of part 4, but because the entire novel was boring, cheesy and pretentious. To me, "Find Me" does not come close to the beautiful, eloquent, honest and almost poetic prose of CMBYN. It was really hard for me to believe that I was actually reading a Aciman novel. The first part could be much shorter, less busy and less cringy. The second, third and fourth part were too short and the storylines for both Elio and Oliver could have been worked out so much better. Now it lacks depth and it read as not making much sense, frayed and even almost narcissistic/self absorbed.

  • I'm just here to leave my story with this film. Gonna sound so stupid and prudish but anyway..When i saw this movie I was shocked to find out that man can love a man and have physical relation.I hardly had knowledge about lgbtq. So,i didn’t like the movie cause i didn’t have the ability to understand this.Funny thing is i was 17/18 then.I grew up in a environment where no one would talk about these thing or intimicy. However,I was happy with study, school and books. After watching this,I talked to my friends and googled and discovered a new world of sexuality. It's a sin in our religion. At first,I couldn’t accept the fact of being two same gender people together. But I always try to be open minded about things. So,gradually it got easier for me.Though i couldn’t watch any gay film for few months. Then the pandemic came and in a locked world i watched, read so many things and started to accept the fact.I believe It's a sin.But I wouldn’t say it’s a fault.I would just respect them as a human being.Just like everybody. It’s their choice and it’s what makes them happy. Recently,I watched Dune & remembered CMBYN. I wondered why people love this film. So I decided to watch again. And I can finally realise what a masterpiece. The pain, the love,Timothee's acting! I was totally silent during last scene and eyes became watery. But when i first saw it it didn’t make sense. I'm gonna remember the last scene forever.
