" For the first time in a thousand years, I have no path. "
A new take on Thor Odinson. On this one I tried to do something different than usual, I focused on the hate, revenge, and sadness of Thor. Despite everything that happened In Endgame, he is still my 2nd favorite character of the MCU.
It is also made for my dear friend, Nate. Happy Birthday, brother :)

    • Remember when "Classic Loki" was telling the Loki Variant how magic so well he tricked Thanos in to thinking he killed him? He drifted until he reached a planet, stayed there in seclusion and the only reason he left was because he MISSED Thor. This caused a Nexus Event. In either case I guarantee Loki from Infinity War is STILL ALIVE and will meet the Loki from the Disney+ series in its second season. I would call the Loki that "died" in Infinity War enlightened and I think variant Loki after meeting Sylvie is enlightened as well. The question remains. Would you fuck a female variant version of yourself? Why not? It's not incest. I'm a handsome guy so it stands to reason my female version is probably pretty hot. "Would you fuck me? I'd fuck me". But ya I'd totally be down to fuck a female version of myself. But that's just me.

  • Ironically, Thor is the most human character in the entire MCU. Matured over all the trauma and lose. Masked all his anger and pain with humor. Thought himself a failure. Hit rock bottom and used all that pain and guilt and anger to turn his life around. His whole character arc inspired me to hold on, to say, "what more could i lose?" The god, who taught us what being human means.

    • And that's exactly what devalued the essence of the character. There are dozens of actual humans within the universe to tell human stories. They had a chance to tell the story of a space god who lives for thousands of years. Why would he have similar perspective from a human who lives 75-80 years when he's going to live for thousands of years? Just dumb. They resorted to calling Asgardians "aliens" because they didn't know how to handle the property and finally essentially wiped them off the grid in "Ragnarok," probably to make way for the Eternals, since having two groups of beings who are powerful and live a long time is redundant.

And knowing that you will have millennia more to remember how you failed your whole race, brought your planet to annihilation, you who for 10 000 years were groomed to be a King and ruler, have within a few years been responsible for the end of your world and the 1000's of planets in the 1000's of galaxies. That a lot of egoic pain.

    • @White Devil true, but do realize by infinity war, Thor was more than just the king of Asguard, he was the one to protect the nine realms. All gods and humans, all of the dwarves and elves and giants who lived and thrived under Odins reign now had Thor as their only line of defense against a genocidal warlord like Thanos. at least earth had people like Cap and Stark. But the others needed Thor, and at the end of infinity war he was the last to try to stop him. Thor came the closest but ultimately failed everyone because his mind was clouded by revenge instead of saving the people who still lived. Thor was a big fool with an ax, and when I went to see endgame I was 50/50 with Thor, he would either start by either hanging himself off Yggdrasil trying in vain to search for a way to undo what had been done, or at the bottom of a tankard.

No one can know others pain exact because no one lives others life, so there is no point of comparison.

I get it's a way for Marvel to "up the stakes", and it's clear Kang is going to be the next big bad.... I just fear that the MCU is going in the wrong direction. Black Widow is a good example. It was a HORRIBLE movie. Only thing about the BW movie was Florence Pugh that's about it. Black Widow should have been the film released after Civil War, the story would've been likely better and completely different.

  • 2:25 "Everyone fails at who they're supposed to be, Thor. The measure of a person, of a hero, is how well they succeed at being who they are." I love that line. The story of Thor is a human one. To lose everything and fail at being who everyone expected him to be. So fueled with rage and despair, he uses his last bit of pride to get revenge for all he has lost, and then he mourns it. He mourns all he lost, drowning himself to numb the pain, losing who he was along the way. But then there's a chance at redemption, a chance to stop it all from happening again, he takes it, knowing he might die along the way but not caring. And in the end, when the battle doesn't kill him and he's truly done all he can and he has proof that even at his lowest point he still is worthy, it's like a new foundation. He isn't the same as he once was. He's not going to be the person they all thought he was going to be, who he was raised to be. And there's an acceptance to that. An acceptance that his loved ones won't come back, that he has to carry on. He got some closure, that his mother would still love him/he was still worthy of love even if he didn't met everyone's expectations, that the hammer still found him worthy, that the enemy that made him lose everything would never harm anyone again. He had nothing left to prove. Nothing left owed. He could finally be whoever he wished to be. And after thousands of years, that can be terrifying. It's terrifying even after a couple decades. But it's also freeing. His story should have ended there. Should have left to find himself, gone to do whatever he wished. Only to come back occasionally in cameos as this himbo who just stopped by to say hello or can point the main character in the right direction.

    • i think the fundamental thing here that people over look is that Thor went toe to toe with thanos with the intent to kill his mind set being "what else do i have to loose?" when thanos snapped it wasn't about him being too late or thinking he failed. Thor has always craved battle this was shown in the first movie, he has had no problem using combat to create a solution. they cut off Thano's hand, hold him down, find the stones are not only gone but destroyed, no weapons, no defences, no stones, no plan, but held down by the avengers in his hut and without rage, just kills Thanos in cold blood, out right murders him. Thor wasn't sitting around drinking beer feeling sorry for himself because "he thinks he failed" which he probably did think that. But what Thor lost there was his dignity, his integrity, his pride, his self respect, he knew the whole time he could pick up his axe and go defend the nine realms, Stormbreaker has the power of the bifrost, he could of theoretically gone anywhere he's been too before, especially the other 9 realms, as they are all meant to connect. Thor Killed a man in cold blood and although still being mighty, still being worthy, it took half of what made him truly whole. even though, Thor survived the snap, he lost.....twice and it broke him.

His only salvation was his mother. Once he lost her he became a shallow womanizing drunken mess who didn't care for anybody. It took him almost dying to rectify his mistakes and try to move on , to be a hero. Iron man 2 his father's mistake haunts him in the form of vanko while he is on a self destructive path since he is dying . Avengers he meets cap etc and doubt himself tries a sucidal charge with the nuke to prove to himself that he is a hero. Iron man 3. A mistake from his own past comes back to haunt him while he's struggling from PTSD. Age of Ultron. He begins to feel fear once Wanda shows him a vision that he is responsible for killing the avengers. And his fear results in Ultron. Civil war he tries to keep the team together only for it break apart. Homecoming tries to teach Spidey a lesson by the taking away his suit instead puts him in danger against vulture. Infinity war loses while trying to take the battle away from Earth and Spidey dies in his arms. Endgame dies while saving the universe. Tony never had a full good life. He had a few 5 good yrs with his daughter and a few months as an avenger. But all he had his entire life is a childhood of neglect and pain , adulthood of shallow pleasures. Never a good life. But so didn't the others Steve Thor Bruce Nat and Hawkeye all of them had a shitty life with a few good yrs. But still they tried to do their best to help others.That is what makes them heros.

      @roshanash2248@roshanash22484 жыл бұрын
    • @@roshanash2248 But it's not about having a full good life, no one has a life that is only ups without downs. Tony didn't had a perfect life but to say he had a "bad life" is really difficult considering he was a white, rich, North American, mega billionaire. He had struggles like you and me, to Gandhi and Stalin, and if his struggles goes like "sadly, he had to shallowly party all day long spending a lot of his billionaire money while dating super models and traveling the world in his comfy plane:/" it sure does seem a lot better than most people. Not saying that that invalidates the suffering he sure felt a lot of the times or it isn't rough, but a support figure dying combined with negligent parents and a mental disorder is more common that you think, at least for me and my friends and my age group - being young in other countries or even neighborhoods. Being a megabillionaire and sobly burning his money in jet flies, super models and lots of parties should be enough to see he had more opportunities than most people dealing with situations like these. It's sad anyone has to deal with these, no matter where you come in life, rich or poor, or even when. But is undeniable he had a lot of money, life structure, professional opportunities and support from society and friends like Rhodey to the Avengers that were a strong factor for his recovery, and not, say a suicide. He was a non chalant teen billionaire with a career made and had later the incredibly rare chance of being a billionaire family man with a lot of loving friends, most people have none of that. The struggles he had, like everyone, *were in between* and not "all trough his life," and it gave that character, together with his both sacrifices (NY and EG), the hero aspect he so much saught as a man and the closure for a great redemption and transformational arc of a man turned hero. One doesn't need to suffer always to be a hero, is what I'm saying. You can still be a hero and your suffering is STILL valid, even if you had more opportunities than others. Tony is a hero and I don't think he had a bad life; even he knows how great and blessed he was. With a daughter like that, who wouldn't? :)

As the music builds so does the intensity we see with a rather sudden cut off, showing how Thor is finally trying to move onwards by himself of his own volition.

They didn't feel all those feelings, all that loss, anger and self hatred that Thor felt. Not until it was too late. Thor in my eyes was and is the strongest Avenger. And that doesn't mean strength of muscle. It means strength of character, of self. ⚡⚡

But given his beyond super human physical makeup I feel he would have been able to do it and survive. • I sincerely am not kidding here, the same exact thing happened to me just moments ago. "are you crying?" me: "no,......yes i just watched a fantastic video on my pc am i not allowed to ??" Although these were tears that came of a cataclysmic happening of a sudden understanding. So i cried tears of happiness. Happiness? Yes its sort of a sad video but you see at the end, if you fully understand Thor's psychology, not his mythology and overall story arc, but focus specifically on his psychologial troubles and what he struggles with (choices, right path, mistakes, rumination about the past, wishful thinking, but also glorious and virtuous moments), you can, well sort of understand him and even, somehow relate very much to him, even though you would normally think its just a fictional story of a blockbuster movie hence it cannot have any deep meaning and message attached to it, atleast not to the degree that it can apply for your individual life. Well, that is what I thought too. Until this video put it together for me. But how and why do we have the capacity to feel such intense and "real" feelings when simply just watching some pictures with some added music to it? Is it the pictures? The music? The story? Is it everything at once? Because in some way we can, consciously or not, understand what is going underneath the surface, what isn't being shown or told, and people grasp different depths in an unconsciouss and sometimes deliberate manner. For me, I was hit with a sudden realization when i heard Thor at the end saying: "its time for me to be who I am, rather than who I'm supposed to be". Beautiful put together i must say. A remarkable feel to it, like @TheGaroStudios's "a morphin toast." Thanks for taking the time to read this dreadfully boring and weird post. Have a good one!
