  • Definetely no rematch. Conor doinga guillotine, was a horrible mistake. Chokes on fresh opponents don't work, 9 out of 10 times, and it ends up burning out the arms on the person applying the choke. Conor would have had no path to victory if he ran out of gas, which seemed imminent.

  • I am not convinced his leg fractured due to pushing off it for a punch. It must have happened when Connor threw an earlier kick and was only made noticeable when he pressed off it for a punch then broke it completely when he stepped back onto it.

  • I'm not a doctor but I have never heard of anyone breaking their leg for no reason. There must have been some impact to Connor's lower shin at some point in the fight that caused it to break when he stepped back on it.

  • Conor almost got finished so many times in the round he was suppose to dominate. He got flashbacks of Poiriers finishing flurry when Dustin clipped his ass on the feet. When Dustin was landing hard shots on top of him he got flashbacks with the Khabib mauling he got on round 2. If the fight had a minute more Dustin would definitely finish him.

  • I think the leg was weakened with the kicks and that toe kick DEFINITELY made a difference. The angle you used wasn’t clear but kicking with the weak part of your foot hurts your shin. Ask any soccer player. When you miss kick and hit the ground, your shin feels like you split the bone it’s horrible. I promise that’s what happened.

  • Weasle overestimates Conor's chin and underestimates Dustin's chin. In this fight Dustin hit Conor clean twice and Conor gets hurt and starts wrestling. In 2nd fight Dustin took Conor's shots clean

    • Seems that not cutting those extra 10 pounds corrected some of the chin issues that Poirer used to have at FW despite just losing once by T/KO there but it seems that fighting bigger fighters took some of the stopping power of Mcgregor, he still has some major power and even stunned Dustin a couple of times in these two fights but he is not putting away any of those guys with one single strike even Eddie Alvarez who is not exactly known for his iron chin still had to take a lot of abuse to finally be put away by Conor.

    • @@g.sergiusfidenas6650 Yes I have always said Conor's true division is 145 where he was much more powerful and carried less muscle and was more light on his feet. He would have had much more success there but in the end today's Max would beat Conor at 145 too

    • @@prashant2840 Hard to say, I think he is still a bad stylistic match up for Max (his counters and power can break the kind of momentum build up Max tends to rely on plus he is still one of the best boxers in the game) but one of them has been there in the trenches fighting the best guys in one of the deepest divisions while the other has been busy doing other things, Dustin himself is a great example of how much a fighter can grow so Max might even be able to overcome the match up downsides by time in the octagon and in training and due his insane drive, I don't think the Mcgregor that came back into the fight against Mendes or won against Holloway while injuried is still a thing.

    • @@g.sergiusfidenas6650 I think the opposite Max is a very bad mathup for Conor. Max has a granite chin and Cardio. Even if Max loses first 2 rounds. He will take over from late 2nd or 3rd and TKO Conor. Remember At 145 Conor dropped every single person he fought except Max. Max has one of the best chins I have seen in MMA

Floyd literally reinvented his entire style and became one of the best defensive boxers of all time. DEFENSE is one of Conor's biggest weaknesses outside of 5 round cardio...

  • The damage of impacts weakened that area before it gave way and completely broke. Likely a kick he threw that landed on a hard area weakened it/hair line fractured it and every impact and movement or step after brought it closer to complete failure.

  • Conor needed the knockout in round 1, which is the round he has the most energy. But on their first collision Conor felt the blows and sought the clinch, Poirier sought the takedown. Conor reached for the guillotine and was smashed into the ground. Poirier keeps the knockout power even in the final rounds because he has plenty of gas, Conor loses punch as we saw against Khabib and Diaz, Poirier deserved the victory.

  • Weasel please do a nunber of strikes breakdown of the fight, I have done it and obviously poirier was in the dominant position for half the round but I think you’d be interested in total strikes for each fighter. Many strikes seem to actually be deflected on the ground.
