yup, a lot of mi$take$
If Conor Mcgregor is getting out boxed IN THE FIRST ROUND thats a sign of a real decline or just an extreme stagnation.
He needed to use a better camp and to bring in better guys who can actually improve his skills. His isolation was fine at 145 when he was hungry, but it's hard to get out of bed when you have satin sheets.

Facts
Connor didn't get any worse, just hadn't improved in 8 years and the whole sport has doubled in skill, including porier.
You're right about the other fighters getting better,, but Bro his head movement has deteriorated, he's leaning into his punches to the point where his back foot is coming off the ground, and he ends up body to body with guys,, he's not as patient or accurate with the counters. I can go on. He's not as good as he was, and with the busy lifestyle and money he has, it would be silly for anyone to expect him to be.

I agree. Conor has great skills but the rest of the fighters are so complete now and very good at game plans.

The fact that had Herb Dean done his job and pit them back into the ground positions would've led to Connor avoiding the leg snap. The irony is so satisfying.

the best breakdowns in the game today. Wow man that was so well done to the finest detail of the fight. Wicked job as usual
With around 12 seconds left in the first, Conor throws a kick and buckles immediately. Dustin doesn’t really check it but I think it could’ve lead to the break. You and none of the commentators mentioned it. Check the tape.
I’m wrong here, it’s actually the teep kick that lead to the break. Watch his left elbow not the right, the impact is right on his shin and causes dustins arm to fling up.
Connor screaming out "doctor stoppage" pretty much shows how desperate he is. But let us all not forget ge was getting walked like a dog by Poirier pretty much that whole first round.
Haha basically screaming "i didnt actually lose i got a booboo"
I actually thought it showed how competitive he is. To get your leg snapped in half and be thinking about that is pretty hard core. For the record, it was ruled a doctor stoppage.
Dustin didnt win, its just that Conor lost. I know it doesnt make sense to you but thats why conor was specifically calling for that, a doctor stoppage. Dustin must've pounded but so did mendez and conor wrecked him. Im just saying, dont be so sure.:)

Really enjoyed this analysis Weasle, well done. I look forward to finding out if he possibly DID hurt his leg earlier (which would arguably provide him with a better "excuse" for the performance that followed). So how did he break it then mate?
@@Glane6339 Almost certainly prior trauma, but the exact trauma or combinations of trauma are not obvious. Also, a poor diet likely plays a role, too. The enzymes that build bone need magnesium, and Conor's high stress lifestyle is a magnesium burner. Bio-copper is also required for bones that aren't brittle. Iron overload, especially when it is toxic inorganic iron filing overload triggers the osteoclasts to break down bone. Break down more bone than you build, well... bones aren't as strong. Also, it may be possible that lysyl oxidase, which is bio-copper dependent, could play a role as well. Search Morley Robbins for more information.
@@Glane6339 100% from leg kicking Dustin. The leg kick was “checked” enough to break Conor’s leg given how hard he was kicking Dustin. Let’s not believe some lazy bum with a KZhead channel and the actual world champion. The way Dustin checked the kicks was not perfect but it was sufficient to break the leg. Don’t believe everything the weasle tells you. He isn’t too educated in the technicalities of these techniques since he isn’t a top level fighter.
Look at his leg where it later broke, it has blood or scars, 3:07.
I attribute it to constant weight cutting, causing vitamin deficiency and calcium weakening bones. Plus prior trauma. Or the beginning stages of osteoporosis
Great analysis! Felt the same way throughout the fight, and surprised how you caught the weird ankle position before it snapped, definitely looks to be what caused the break! Was rooting for Dustin, sad to see conor go out like that but he’s too damn disrespectful smh
I think the leg was weakened with the kicks and that toe kick DEFINITELY made a difference. The angle you used wasn’t clear but kicking with the weak part of your foot hurts your shin. Ask any soccer player. When you miss kick and hit the ground, your shin feels like you split the bone it’s horrible. I promise that’s what happened.
Yes but is it football or soccer 😱
promises are meant to be broken, swear you life on it for us to believe
Soccer player here and never felt that in my life. Your ankle rolls and it hurts but I've never felt anything on my shin. He probably practiced leg kicking a bunch of times in camp and his leg was compromised coming in

Seems that not cutting those extra 10 pounds corrected some of the chin issues that Poirer used to have at FW despite just losing once by T/KO there but it seems that fighting bigger fighters took some of the stopping power of Mcgregor, he still has some major power and even stunned Dustin a couple of times in these two fights but he is not putting away any of those guys with one single strike even Eddie Alvarez who is not exactly known for his iron chin still had to take a lot of abuse to finally be put away by Conor.
@@g.sergiusfidenas6650 Yes I have always said Conor's true division is 145 where he was much more powerful and carried less muscle and was more light on his feet. He would have had much more success there but in the end today's Max would beat Conor at 145 too
@@prashant2840 Hard to say, I think he is still a bad stylistic match up for Max (his counters and power can break the kind of momentum build up Max tends to rely on plus he is still one of the best boxers in the game) but one of them has been there in the trenches fighting the best guys in one of the deepest divisions while the other has been busy doing other things, Dustin himself is a great example of how much a fighter can grow so Max might even be able to overcome the match up downsides by time in the octagon and in training and due his insane drive, I don't think the Mcgregor that came back into the fight against Mendes or won against Holloway while injuried is still a thing.
@@g.sergiusfidenas6650 I think the opposite Max is a very bad mathup for Conor. Max has a granite chin and Cardio. Even if Max loses first 2 rounds. He will take over from late 2nd or 3rd and TKO Conor. Remember At 145 Conor dropped every single person he fought except Max. Max has one of the best chins I have seen in MMA
Conor is out if his godamn mind.. even his trash talk sucks now
So true
But respect his hunger for fighting! No1 in the world really wants to fight and if your like £250m gone then stepping in that octagon knowing your gonna get hurt possibly seriously injured over money which you financially do not need. Then u gotta respect the mindset
@@plug1891 I understand, but I disagree with the idea of him trash talking, I believe it’s not a good sportsmanship
@@takumi_boi726 Yet you paid to see it.
@@plug1891 honestly I don’t get why people keep saying this, he’s been fighting ONCE in TWO Years! That shows that he does not want to fight, no matter what Dan Hardy tells us
This was the absolute best breakdown and analysis I have seen... good job!
Great content! Thanks for the breakdown. 😎👍👍
That's the end of McGregor He still has 1 or 2 fun fight left but his time as a prime fighter is over
@Dan Conor isnt Floyd... Conor only just now showed he can attack from ortho stance. He has evolved that little since 2016... Floyd literally reinvented his entire style and became one of the best defensive boxers of all time. DEFENSE is one of Conor's biggest weaknesses outside of 5 round cardio...
Dustin's post fight interview was just gold. Kill 'em with kindness. What a great guy.
Porier check the kick, its called a lift ckeck, when you lift your leg so it hit the hard part of leg Knee or below. Just as Weidmen checked Silvas, it is a type of check when your pate to react
The damage of impacts weakened that area before it gave way and completely broke. Likely a kick he threw that landed on a hard area weakened it/hair line fractured it and every impact and movement or step after brought it closer to complete failure.
Best thing about this is the cartoon coming from Mojahed. 😂😂
I am pretty sure there will be a scene with Connor shouting Let's Wrestle with Khabib in that cartoon :v
Man can't wait for video lol should be good 🤣🤣🤣
My "ankle" came out of the socket
His videos suck. Just using soundbites with cheap looking visuals. Only kids like that shit
@@ChildishGambeaner ok.
Wonderboy v Burns might’ve been one of the most underwhelming fights I’ve ever seen. Was Hyped to be fireworks, and we got a candle flame at most.
That fight was pathetic.
Wrestlefucking is a required skill at 170 it seems
Thompson has always had a defensive style.
@@treis531 said the exact same thing. Wonder boy typically needs 5 rounds
Burns is an embarrassment, just laying on top of a guy and holding his wrists. How is that even a fight? I've never seen something so underwhelming. They should fine him for that.
Great stuff man. Subscribed
Conor was definitely kicking the knee, probably hairline fracture from the " knee" kicks and that's all she wrote
Conor: I'm gonna knock him out and he's going out on a stretcher Stretcher : *So you've chosen death*

Conor needed the knockout in round 1, which is the round he has the most energy. But on their first collision Conor felt the blows and sought the clinch, Poirier sought the takedown. Conor reached for the guillotine and was smashed into the ground. Poirier keeps the knockout power even in the final rounds because he has plenty of gas, Conor loses punch as we saw against Khabib and Diaz, Poirier deserved the victory.
Conor would have been so drained after that round, I didn't see it going much longer
@Daddy Mcdada How are you even using that as an example this is dustin poirier were talking about not chad mendez. 😂😂
@@m.rtheone4698 didn’t Mendez take that fight on short notice too? 🤣
@Daddy Mcdada When did I say he was gassed? and conor was getting his ass whooped before that happened but every time he loses emotional delusional remedial fans like you make excuses well I hope you cry yourself to sleep. 😂😂😂🤡.
@@poopcrust3400 Yeah and even tho conor finished him mendez still whoop that ass on short notice.
Weasel please do a nunber of strikes breakdown of the fight, I have done it and obviously poirier was in the dominant position for half the round but I think you’d be interested in total strikes for each fighter. Many strikes seem to actually be deflected on the ground.
Conor: Breaks leg. Weasle: That's Herb Dean's fault. Beautiful, sir; please keep up the incredible work!
I just made some popcorn and conor salted it for me
Lame af
@@cenation1997cr that was perfect timing!!. U sound salty haha
@@cenation1997cr my bad g, I didn't know u were talkin about Conor's leg being lame af, my apologies
underrated comment
i don't think I've ever seen a fighter as salty straight after a fight. What happened to gracious in defeat?
I've lost respect for Conor. He keeps humiliating himself every single time.
Dude he is humiliating anyone who associates with him. Saying he has no class is not enough. He has less than no class. He is evil dude.
Dudes a fucking clown 🤡 He's fake as they come man. Any real man in that situation would have looked too save face and say the better man won regardless of the circumstances.
He's got a tiny brain like Drump
He has 800 millions +.
Dude just being a conor fan is humiliating enough lol
Herb dean has always shown a crazy amount of bias for McNuggets. Good on poirier for getting that dub 💎
