Guys I was so pumped to hit the road and go pick up my next project, with just 2 days to prep I got underneath Big Bertha to shake down my noise... The results are not good. Luckily the solution is on the way, and I should have her fixed up and ready to tow within the week. Stay tuned for the repair and my next project! Cheers

Had a similar issue with one of those quick lube places. For some inexplicable reason, dude put the drain bolt back on by like 3 or 4 threads only. Found a wonderful mess on the driveway in the morning. 15 years on, I do all the work myself. RIP ye ol' Civic, you're a Coke can now...
RIP! Coke can 🤣🤣🤣 Yeah I’m terrified of quick live places, I’ve fixed their handy work too many times at the shop
Yikes - so glad you caught this before you were on the freeway
agreed... couldve ended tragically
Drive safe man, can’t wait for the new project
thanks partner, i appreciate it!
i was going to call you a nerd for calling it off over a torn tie rod boot or something but that center link is gnarly. i've never seen one snap like that
Lol yeah if it was a tie rod end or somethin I’d send it. Not driving mountain roads with a sheared center link though lol
boy that sure was smart to check everything out before leaving, or yikes! the only funny noises allowed on a road trip are from the driver (or passengers).
agreed! Glad I found it!
Video of the center arm being welded in situ or it didnt happen...! Cool to see some truck content as I start considering a new winter daily
Glad you enjoy it! Working on sourcing parts this week 👍🏻
Glad you found it and that videos like this really stress the importance of giving your vehicle a good check before a long trip.
Absolutely! Always check over your vehicle before a long trip, especially involving mountain roads!!!
Awesome video bro! keep it up. Can't wait to see what you are about to buy.
Thanks Kav! More content on the truck comin soon
Wise decision to check out the noise, you might have saved your own life. So easy we can make videos to diagnose things if you work alone. I checked the DISA valve by duct taping my phone to the air intake hose. Record and drive around for a bit. Oh and don't forget to turn on the flashlight or you'll have a black video lol.
Thats a great idea! im going to have to try that out. Undercarriage noise may be a little bit more difficult though lol
saw the bags have a lot of cracks in em, I doubt you overlooked it.
I did! They look to be holding air just fine but im going to keep my eyes on them and recheck for leaks before taking off
That's a potential catastrophic failure on a part that looks really robust; lucky you checked it. Please record the replacement or repair. A welded collar over the breakage would be a good repair.
Yeah it could’ve ended very bad! Working on getting replacement parts, there will definitely be a video on it 👍🏻
Geez that dealership story hurts me. I am lucky that I can fix anything I need to on my car myself. It really sucks to think what would happen if something like that happens to someone who doesn't :(
right?! it rocked me for a while. really tough to complete the remaining 650 miles of travel after i snugged all my wheels down
Wow 👀its my first time seeing a center link broken into two😮 I wonder how that might of happened
Not quite sure either. Maybe there was a small crack developing which gave out.
Same! It’s close to the weld so I think it sheared. You’ll see in the next video that there’s some rust in the crack so I think it was cracked for some time then fully split
Oof that could've been really bad
right?! new centerlink and heims should be on the way this week
Any chance you could tell us what the new project is obviously it’s a BMW but which one?
Id like to keep some mystery so its a surprise for all my viewers :)
