I don't think I've ever heard anyone include the noises in the actual video itself. Most helpful video I've ever found
Lmao nothing like someone trying to describe a noise when they can instead try to record it happening
100% this was great
Awesome video!!!!!!
Indeed best video I have ever watch about noises under the car!!!!
@@johnmarrinez5932 is your last name Marinez?
I've been neck deep in automotive KZhead for over a year now and this is the first one I've seen that has sound samples of the issues. Teaching is a special skill and you have a talent for it. Well done.
Glad you like it!
Agreed I'm trying to find sound clip of ball joints while driving and can't find it anywhere😖
None of these sounds were what i was looking for. But 10/10 on showing each sound and breaking it into segments. you're a king.
I think for me as a woman finding an honest mechanic is the biggest "diagnostic^ I could ever perform. Some of these noises are a simple fix but keeping a mechanic honest is definitely the hardest part. I experienced #8 the hot rod noise. Guess what it was? A shady mechanic stoled my catalytic converter and replaced it with a welded pipe. Just yesterday another one replaced a perfectly good engine mount instead of the actual problem which was the arm which is worn out and left it up to me to decide whether to replace the mount or not. So literally all he needed to do was tightened up the old engine mount along with the worn out arm until I returned with the correct part but instead he went ahead and changed a perfectly good part just because he wanted those $40 right then and there. It is 2 am and it's still bothering me so I decided to research further... it's because of people like you, providing educational videos like this that I catch the problems mechanics don't care to find. I just happened to find your video on a totally different subject along the eay.
I 100% know where you're comin' from and I agree, mechanics are unfortunately, some of theee most dishonest people on Earth.
Yesss I paid $600 for my car to still have the same problem and people need to start looking at the reviews it helps a lot they getting shady by the day
I'm not a woman but am BEYOND uneducated when it comes to mechanical work and can tell right away when i try explaining what's wrong and get taken advantage of BIG TIME.. I heard a banging when I shifted gears and saw a video on here about motor mounts and was exact what it was after the axels and a bunch of other things were replaced that didn't need to be and the engine was still banging around and just needed two simple motor mounts so I started self learning from here on out so I don't get taken advantage of again and know my stuff!!!
I understand how you would feel, though I am a man but growing up I have literally watched mechanics and repairers and dealers try to BS and make up shit to my mum. Little did they know that a now 46y0 qualified hairdresser/account co-owned/managed/ran a panel beating and spray paint shop with my dad for 10 years before I was born 😂. It’s priceless the look on their faces when she tells them what really is wrong. But I hate seeing them think she is stupid as a woman
About a year or so ago I was looking into ways to get better gas mileage in my car, then it turned into making sure the 33 year old truck I own is safe to drive as well... 1 year and $6-700 in tools later and I'm doing all my own mechanical work, helping friends and I just love it. My truck is about as safe as a truck built 30+ years ago can be, and I've done thousands of dollars worth of work to it for pennies on the dollar. And it's all done right! No lies!
Brakes - Screeching/grinding - 0:26 Belt - Chirping/squealing - 1:11 Steering Fluid - Groaning/whining - 3:06 Wheel bearings - Low rumbling - 4:02 CV Axle - Front end clicking - 5:06 Sway Bar links - Clunking - 6:57 Exhaust shield - Rattling/buzzing - 9:01 Exhaust leak - Loud running - 10:31
Thank you, helpful!
What can I do about the rumbling, I get that often when I'm pressing the gas
Thank you. My yaris made a noise similar to the first and last one today once i placed my foot on gas. Wondering what this means was thinking maybe car needs water

I’ve been to 5 different ppl. I’ve had my struts replaced and both axels replaced and still had a rattling issue... for over a year no one could find out what it was. This video just told me it was my sway bar links 🤦🏽♀️ $800 later . This video just saved me probably $3,000 on w.e else I would have unnecessary fixed . Really just thank you 💖🙌🏽
Wish I could’ve helped you from the beginning, but better late than never 🤙🏽
Most helpful videos ever seem to help distinguish noises in cars! You deserve more views and subscribers!

Thank you soo much ! I am a woman and I don’t really know much about cars . My dad passed away and so has my grandpa. I don’t have anyone close to ask about my car noises . This was very helpful!!!
Awesome!!
I took my Honda to the dealer for a genuine Honda mass air flow sensor and found out later they might not have changed it at all. They charged me $300 for nothing. The next guy who looked at it wouldn't come right out and say so (and he had a thick accent) but he kept asking if they really changed it.
I feel like it’s unlikely, most dealership mechanics have to report to a manager and I doubt they’d risk their job, but ask for your old part back and see what they say!
Finally, a car channel that has examples of bad sounding noises from cars. The car noise sound effects truly helps. I have a car noise and i think it's a bad stabilizer link because I just replaced the brake pads due to the grinding noise. Damn mechanics wasn't looking at other stuff within that area while fixing my car.
Glad it helped 🤙🏽
As a single mom, now I can go to the mechanic talking like an expert 🥰 Thanks 🙏 so much for the great info.
Many thanks...very helpful with the noise examples so clear on the audio, but also the very clear camera work...and this has really helped me understand the parts being referenced whilst looking through car MOTs whilst trying to find a new car and where its weak points are :)
This is the greatest car help video format ever conceived. Comment section solved the only issue I had. Absolutely beautiful thank you everyone involved.
As others have said, one of the most useful, clear and concise diagnosis vids i have ever seen. Great job!!
After experiencing a lot of these sounds over the years and know what to listen for I still appreciate this informative video and still learned something new. Many thanks.
Great! Now I've narrowed down the possible sources of my car's unusual sound: stabilizer link and exhaust shield. Thanks so much!
What a great, detailed and put together video! Thank you 🙏🏽 my car makes a sound when going over speed bumps, now I have an idea what to look for and what to replace
I’m glad it helped!
Man I love the how you have sounds for all the problems, honestly I feel more like a mechanic after watching this😂 awesome vid man!
Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts, super helpful :). Hope everything with you is safe and well :)
This was the best, most useful videos on car problems I have ever seen….and explained so well too. You deserve more subscribers and views for sure.
Fantastic Guy!! no nonsense & super straight-forward/helpful. Thanks for being so factual & direct to the point, unlike so many 'help' KZheadrs. PS. You look exactly like a guy I graduated high school with in Vancouver Canada way back in '99. Uncanny resemblance almost like twins.
Helpful video. I appreciate the list you provide in the video. It's easy to find where you start to talk about each problem.
This dude can be a good teacher hands down….! This video helps me to know my car’s noise . Thanks sir keeps good work you got one more subscriber and like🙏🏿
Thank you for making this video. I heard a loud noise for about a quarter mile when rolling the other day. It sounded similar to your sound bite of rotors or power steering.
Could you do more videos like this? The noise I am trying to diagnose wasn't on here but it was very helpful!
Who else checks KZhead first before taking to shop? lol
🙋♀️ yes 😂
Meee
That's me now 😂😂
This was EXTREMELY helpful!!! Thank you! My car is making 2 of these 8 sounds and I now have a better idea of what the issues may be.
Glad I could help! 🤙🏽
THANK U FOR BEING BEYOND SPECIFIC ON EACH SOUND, like the best video I’ve seen so far .
Im a mechanic but sometimes I myself and other mechanics have looked over the basics i know because customers have come to me after spending thousands somewhere else replacing parts that didnt need replaced this is a very clear informative video
I love you video...the fact that not only are you explaining it you have the sound effects which make it more to understandable.thank you. But I'm listening for a sound that happens when my car has been driven for a while and it's all warmi will l come to a stop and soon as I take off it makes a clicking noise but not very long after I take off. I also have a low whine when I start my car .
The best ever knowledge I get today. The way he explained everything is so gooddd!
Thanks for letting us know!!
Doesn't match a single one of the "that's a new sound - what's happened?" I was trying to identify, but I love that you start each section with an example of the sound you're diagnosing. Super helpful video. Thank you!
This has got to be the best video on car noises I have ever watched. Witt the help of this video, and the recording of the noise of my car, I might be able to fix my car. Much appreciated and thank you!!!
This is the most helpful video I've ever watched on KZhead. Thank you for explaining all these things, I was able to figure out the weird noise coming from my car.

Such a helpful video! Just what I needed, to hear the actual sounds. Many thanks
best helpful and accurate explanation video ever ✨❤️ thanks a lot for your effort to make this great video , please keep up the good work !
You are the smartest car doctor I've ever seen!!!! You might even be smarter than my daddy but he's been gone 3.5 yrs now. He used to listen to Click and Clack Car Guys. You've said exactly what I need to check for in this video and I've asked at least a dozen car guys! I'm gonna watch this a few more times. I'm certain i can replace the sway bar this weekend by myself! Maybe even this afternoon. Have a beautiful blessed day!
Nice one. Probably a break pad then, which is a relief. Many thanks. I appreciate learning about the other possible noises and causes and will feel more confident in the future.
Your videos are awesome! I found the stabilizer noise thanks to you! Keep up the good work
Keep up the good work!
I've been looking for a way to describe the noise I'm hearing on my car because it's not consistent but sounds terrible. After watching/listening to this video, I think I've heard it. This is awesome! Thank you!
Addition of the sounds make it way more helpful for beginners and even some more advanced home mechanics. Keep up the good work
Awesome video! I’m new to the mechanical world since I just got my car and it has so many issues with it, happy to find that it was only the belt issue I could relate to in this vid 😂 the audio examples make this extra helpful!
Great! Glad it helped!
Thank you budget mechanic 🤘🏼 this video really helped a lot finding out what was going on with my car.
Glad to hear it
The real mvp right here. The sway bar links is what I have been hearing the past week or so good to know it's an easy peasy fix
I have experienced two of these sounds in last 1-2 months( after 8.5 years of my car) …and they were accurate in what it is shown in the video…being muffler sound and alternator belt getting damaged…thank you for explaining them nicely
I can see you made around 10 videos per year but this is the most helpful video I have seen yet for car noise issues and you deserve more views. My car is new 10K driven, 1st service done. Some kind of loose nut sound comes when accelerating sometimes at random and a squeaking belt like noise which is also random. Going to get a look at it at dealership soon but the issue is sound is random and I can't reproduce it at will even when I am doing the same stuff I did when sound 1st came.
i have this same problem
have you found out what it was
@@AllAroundDaryl Some loose parts under the dashboard. They tightened it up but comes right back in a few months. At first I thought they did a poor job but I noticed a trend, It comes when seasons change. My guess is some stuff compress/relax when seasons changes and it has to be adjusted again also, if it helps my car is close to 50K rn. A few potholes every now and then could also be contributing to the problem but it is mostly fine now. They sort it for free when servicing so all good.
I am excited to find a video that resonates with my unexperienced diagnosis, I feel validated.
Here for you!!
You just don’t know how much this helped me I’ve been looking through videos on videos trying to find some kind of clue but when I heard the same sound of the axle it gave me a great amount of relief THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH
Glad it could help! That’s why I make these videos!
A very well put together video with very good and well explained causes of 8 different kinds of problems that cause noise in a car!

Most informative car problems I've ever watch. This is the best mechanic.
Amazing video... most helpful and straight to the point video I’ve seen! You’ve gained a subscriber.
Thanks for the subscribe 👍🏼
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP AND YOUR EFFORT MAN! I APPRECIATE IT!
I've had a rattle noise under the hood for at least a year, so in trying to diagnose the sound the mechanic found I needed both CV axle, shaft and seals replaced and outer tie rod. Picked up car yesterday and the rattle sound is worse! 2001 Toyota Solara. Loved your video, now I can go back better informed about what to look for or find a better place to take my car, but that's not easy to find. Thanks!
Thank you. Finally have a video that explains the weird sounds I've heard from my car.
Hi Josh, Thank you for sharing your knowledge thru this video. Thumbs up! My car (automatic transmission) sometimes makes a growling noise when I go downhill. But I can't hear any noise when I drive uphill or normal flat surface. Can you point out the possible problem with this situation and noise?
You are a legend! This video and the audio clips are just awesome.
Glad you liked it
Fantastic video. First video that actually include the sounds/noises. Very helpful and resourceful. Thank you.
Finally someone who ACTUALLY will give you the different aound effects
Such a great video, having noise samples is much appreciated.
Thanks 🤙🏽
Thank you for your video! The audio clip helps a great deal when trying to diagnose my vehicle 😀
Thank you so much for including the sounds! Absolutely an invaluable inclusion.

Thank you for making to the point videos that are perfectly described. Very helpful.

Two minutes in and I’ve got what I need. Saved me loads of time. Quality video thank you!
dude ive been trying to figure out that wheel bearing problem for 2 weeks now, couldnt diagnose it.. THANK YOUUU... As an amateur DIY-er, and a very stingy person who doesn't take it to the shop, you saved me HEADACHES, and money :)
What about a screeching/groaning type noise whenever I shift my car into park. It goes away whenever Im in drive, reverse, etc. but the noise almost always returns whenever I'm in park.
Same this what happening to mine in drive or reverse a grinding type noise
My car does have all these sounds lol 😆
Thank you for including the sound examples , it made so much more sense
This is quite possibly the most helpful video ever! Thank you kind sir
In low rpm, I hear like... "A metal ring inside a glass bottle spining." What will it be?
Did you figure it out? I'm having the same thing happening.
most likely something is loose underneath the car. Also, is the car shaking kinda hard?
It’s probably your catalytic converter
Clutch realease bearing/gear box ?
The absolutely most helpful video I've ever come across in my life!! Including the sounds is genius! Off to get new breaks. Thank you so much!
Glad it helped!
your video is very helpful for people trying to maintain old cars. thank you
Thank you so much, I've been looking for such a video all over KZhead, one that actually includes the sounds. Now I can diagnose my car.
Glad I could help!
Excellent video. To the point. Best video I've seen regarding noise in a car.

Just found this gem and after watching this i can confirm you immediately gained a subscriber! Thank you for the knowledge
Awesome, thank you! 🤙🏽
You are the best bro. Best video ever. I have a rolling sound when I am driving on the highway. It increases with acceleration. This started when my 18- year son drove through a big flood ( high up to the engine) when it rained.
Sounds like a bad bearing.
this video was soo helpful for someone who has no idea about cars....thank you!!
Fantastic video! Straightforward, including the sounds and solutions. Great work!
Lucky for this guy to have experienced all these issues and record the sounds.
Great help. Thank you very much. You are a champ. I m from Australia. If you were here I would have come to you. I found the problem now going to get it fixed before it makes more mess. Cheers mate. Long live 👍👍👍
Amazing video, very informative. Thank you so much for sharing.
👍 video it helped me a lot ,my car symptom was #6 thanks for this video
A superb video indeed! Thanks for including the sounds that are very helpful in identifying the problems
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks brother! your tutorials are the best, Watching from Tanzania
Thank you brother!
Thanks Josh, This is the most comprehensive description of problems I have ever come across. Thank you for that. I am currently in research for a loud bearing0like noise coming from the front end that seems not to be the wheel bearings. Our 2012 Ford Explorer 4X 4 sounds like bad bearing(s) but all are firm and the sound doesn't change on turns. Can't figure it out!
