They put so much into building out this incredible foundation and then just went back to GTA V as a cash cow. • Telltales Walking Dead series really opened my eyes to playing more visual novel type games, but haven't really found one that did it as well as they did. The stories wern't so long or drawn out that you'd lose interest, and the game itself really found the sweet spot for the genre where there were enough movement/QTE sequences to keep you engaged with it, but not so many that it became the main focus. For me personally, it can be a tough genre to get into. It either feels like a QTE game with bits of story thrown in, or it feels too much like a visual story without enough gameplay sequences. Walking dead found that perfect balance in the middle for me.

The style of gameplay isn't for everyone, but the characters really draw you in, and your choices do matter to a certain extent - Season 1 is fantastic, but the subsequent seasons are still pretty dang good.

  • Surprised Elden Ring isn't on this list. Sold more than 20 mil copies, and one of few on the list (like Dying Light) that just came out of nowhere and broke into the mainstream. In fact, it was even more impressive, because it was already niche, and many already avoided Fromsoft games due to them being hard. They completely shook up the gaming formula and it paid off big time, with it being 1 of 3 games to pass 300 GOTY awards. If a random really good game comes out, it has a chance of great success. I do think this is harder to do when a lot of people already avoid a companies games due to the reputation they have. I think the most impressive 20 mil+ sales is Elden Ring imo. The others make sense as they either use a popular genre, or, use a popular long-running franchise. Elden Ring was a brand new game with zero prequels, deffo deserves to be on this list.

  • Love your videos! Since you rank games, in your videos, it would be helpful if you also put the title of the game up on the screen whenever you announce them. As I’m sure I’m not the only one who is newish to gaming and who watches your videos to get new ideas for what games to play next. And I think you assume the people who watch your videos already know what game you’re talking about. Either way, thanks for making them!

  • #9 Clementine was my favorite thing about the first 2 games, havent played the others yet. While it is clear that there are only so many choices you can make and so many places for the story to go... I did spend the entirety of my 1st playthrough of the 1st game, really thinking about my choices and deciding. how I wanted to interact with Clementine based off how I would feel in. that natural world. Clementine wasn't seeming. that molded By the end of the first game... However, when the second game fired up from start, to finish, that was the little girl that I raised. And I was so thrilled and really awe inspired that. the devs made it that good of a translation of your actions. I. never did play a second time with a different plan in my head. However, that 2nd game that was definitely the Clementine I raised and I could not have been more proud of her.

I plan on replaying it on harder difficulties because this game feels to be helluva lot better on higher difficulties. I legit enjoyed character, narrative and combat\stealth mechanics were both satisfying, and this game looks sooo good. Details of the world in this game are just nuts. It's hardware heavy game tho, I literally had to upgrade to 32gb ram to run this game, because it would refuse to start with 16gb ram even with 8gb vram GPU. Ps. I agree, winter arc was pretty good, especially when you finally get to play as Ellie, her sequences were nice change of pace. I wasn't too crazy about that DLC, it was descent and it had some fun dialogues, but it didn't really add that much to the main game.

Number 1, it's just fun, and number 2 you can loot the zombies for any number of scraps that you either sell or use for crafting. Those walls, and a couple of perks in the perk tree, can really break the game in terms of money, materials, and combat difficulty. Still fun as hell though, wish i could get into the 2nd one...
