CPT Cody Lucas, United States Army, Signal Advisor with the 1st Security Force Assistance Brigade, returned from Afghanistan this week.
His son Ty is a freshman running back, and he had no idea that his father was waiting as he prepared for Clemson's Military Appreciation Game.
I served with him. He’s a freaking warfighter… an absolute great person to work with.
Shout out to fathers who stick around and do right by their family
Boys definitely need their fathers
A real man isn't scared to cry for a father he loves. It shows how dear you hold them in your heart.
every kid no matter how old deserves a hug from their father
The parents look almost as young as he does
I’ve watched this at least 15 times and will watch another 15 times over the years. Such a beautiful moment
My father passed when he was 90 years old and he was my hero, I miss him and my mother every day, even though I’m an old guy now I wish I still had them in my life ❤️
This family has the fountain of youth in their backyard
One thing you gotta understand is that when this soilders say goodbye before going on a tour, there's a chance they'll never see each other again, that's why when they come back it's always so emotional
I felt just like this kid every time i saw my dad growing up and i saw him everyday. He’s 73 now and im 44 and we still cant wait to see each other. Nothing like a bond between father and son…best friend for life
One of the MOST EMOTIONAL videos I've ever seen in my life! It made me SO emotional that his father from the Army came to surprise him before the football game!
I lost my Dad four days ago to cancer. The time you have with your parents and loved ones is special, don’t waste it.
I personally know this family, they are such a wonderful family
Airborne, Pathfinder, Special Forces. Thank you for your service, Captain Lucas! Much respect!
Beautiful, thanks for your service and thanks for sharing this touching Father and Son moment.
He went from a footballer to a little boy seeing his daddy in an instant.
You can just see him turn into a little boy seeing his dad. So awesome.
Thank you for letting us share in that young man’s and his family’s happiness! It couldn’t have come at a better time !
My dad wasn't in the army but he worked a graveyard shift in construction and I rarely saw him as a child. But there were times where he surprised me after school to take me home and that always had me jumping for joy. I'm 20 now and I'm thankful that I have a close relationship with him and get to see him often now. This video gave me a lot of good memories as a kid with my dad.
