It was a duet, not a duel. It was an unrehearsed collaboration, not a contest between them. The voices were distorted in the earphones so they could not recognize the partner until the mirror was lifted. At the end of the show, the home audience voted on which duet pair they liked the most. Diana and Julia became friends when they both participated in the ShowMaskGoOn program in 2021. Julia was the blonde in the red dress who was astonished by Diana's "Can't Help Falling In Love".

Julia is a Mezzo not a Contralto, she is able to go low, way lower than Sopranos but not as low as Contraltos, Julia's lowest note in this piece was an F3 (and probably the lowest note she can hit) while Diana's lowest was an A#2 , more than half an octave lower. If you want examples of famous Mezzos like Julia then you can think of Celine Dion and Shakira as good examples and you can probably recognize similarities in their voices. Toni Braxton herself has a low voice but she never went lower than Diana in her life, in fact her lowest note was D3 two notes lower than Julia's F3. Diana of course has a huge range and she can absolutely go sky high too, if you are interested to hear her in a duet where she reaches space with her voice then you have to listen to her sing "The day you..." with Brandon Stone, it is an original song that Brandon wrote for Diana and they sing it together for New Years. The goal of this show is to perform the song as well as possible in a duet without rehearsing together. Complete improvisation. Greetings from Scotland! The show is simply called "DUETS" and the premise is that 2 singers are selected to perform a song, but neither is told who the other is. Both are rehearsed separately and in secret and when the duet starts, one singer is hidden. Neither singer can clearly hear the other because of heavy distortion in their earpieces. Only when the final dividing wall is lifted is the distortion lifted! You see the surprise on both faces, because they are actually friends, from back on the "ShowMASKGoOn" series where they were both contestants. (Yulia is the famous woman in red who has that incredibly surprised look. Toni Braxton has a contralto voice, so Yulia had to go very low (for her) and she did very well! Of course, Diana was well within her comfort zone. The result was very good and it is always nice to see friends meeting in a surprise. ----- Привет из Шотландии! This is low for Julia ( the shocked woman in red at Diana's performance of "Can't help falling in Love"), she has a beautiful high range. In fact I believe I mentioned Julia's performance of "Cinderella" in your reaction to Diana at that show. Very comfortable and beautiful in her higher register.

This is a pretty cool show, the whole point is to see the singer's reactions when they find out who they're singing with. Some have sung with their sons/daughters, husbands and wives etc. Some are pretty emotional. The only requisite is the duet partners must know each other in some way, they cannot sing with strangers. Diana has appeared on this show twice. Julia is more of a mezzo and has her own successful singing career. As others have surely explained, their earpieces distort the sound of their duet partner, they sound like squeaky cartoon characters to each other. Diana has also done a few duets with various people throughout the years, they are all wonderful.

Diana has a wonderful upper register of her voice ! But she needs to be careful until she is 25 so as not to ruin her voice. Listen to the song per formed by Diana and Brandon Stone ,,The Day You." Hello! They specially sent a broken sound in Yulia"s head phones ,so that she couldn"t get who is the second singer.
Their voices is distorted in earphones of each other, that's why they were unable to recognise. The show called 'Duets', one singer is visible, another is hidden, they are singing together without rehearsals, then meet each other. Most of other songs are simple and the show is boring enough on average. Yulia has a mezzo type of voice with extended low range.
