  • To be honest, the Gibraltar Cheif Minister made the right move here. The benefit of letting a notable KZheadr showcase his beautiful country and show how the govt aren’t a bunch of old losers, is probably the biggest bit of press the country has had in a long time. Even thought it’s very minor in the scope of the video, chief seemed very astute and respectful, even acknowledging Max’s career choice which many wouldn’t. Big ups Fabian ❤

    • @@ClonedGamer001 I wasn't referring to US law. I'm not American. It just doesn't make legal sense for a pardon to be revoked. Alas, Gibraltan constitution is not different (article 8-6): "No person shall be tried for a criminal offence if he shows that he has been granted a pardon, by a competent authority, for that offence." Apparently, it still leaves you open to civil litigation, though.

      @Alkis05@Alkis057 ай бұрын
    • @@Alkis05 Hence why I said "may be different" and not "is different." Thought I will point out that the quote you provided doesn't necessarily mean a pardon can't be revoked, just that someone can't be tried for crime when they have been pardoned. There may not even be anything specifically saying whether or not a pardon is revokable or not, since the odds of that ever actually being something that needs to happen are pretty low. (Also yeah, it leaves you open to civil litigation. Civil liability and criminality are two separate things.)

The flag was adopted in November 1982 and is based on the coat of arms of Gibraltar, granted by Royal Warrant from Queen Isabella I of Castile in July 1502! The castle represents Gibraltar's status as a strategic fortress, while the key represents Gibraltar being the key to the Mediterranean. Let's be honest, the real reason only 97 countries recognize Kosovo as independent is because Kosovo left the other half on Read. This is taking "Can I speak to the manager?" to a whole new level. The walking embodiment of "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take"...the best quote by Michael Scott. 😂 Joke's aside, Fabian is a Chad and it's no wonder he was willing to do this and why he's popular. It's nice when politicians actually listen to the people instead of putting their own wants first. Kudos to you for that ad transition, so smooth and I didn't even expect it. Also, Gibraltar is based for being the only place in Europe you can find wild monke.

Which is mostly just cuz it aknowledges that the judicial system found the person guilty and you are merely remlvin the guilty verdict, but are not in any way aknowledgin fault by any entity involved. If there is fault on some party involved; then that shud come out in appeals court and get the conviction overturned, which is an aknowledgment that the person was in fact wrongly found guilty. If a pardon required the highest official of a land to have reason to believe a person innocent; then pardons wud just nvr happen. As is, they rarely happen bcuz often times folks treat them that way.

  • Neat Gibraltar fact: The largest battle of the American Revolution by number of combatants didn't even take place in what's now the US! It was actually the Great Siege of Gibraltar from 1779 to 1783! Spain, joining the side of France (who in turn was on the side of the American revolutionaries), saw Gibraltar as their primary aim. Spain and France had a combined strength of 65,000 while Britain and Hanover defended Gibraltar with 7,500 and 12 gunboats! The assault was a humiliating failure, and a British relief convoy under Howe sneaking in past a barricade and joining the garrison in October 1782 sealed the deal.
