Super Mario 64 was part of the recent major Nintendo beta leak and honestly... I'm baffled. After 24 years we finally have a concrete, tangible close to the mystery. Luigi has been found in the beta files of a Mario 64 iQue asset pool... Never would I have ever imagined L is Real would truly be finished, but in the midst of the Super Mario 64 personalized craze, we finally have our answer... Not quite the creepypasta 1995 build we were looking for, but one with amazing things hidden within!

Actually the whole Wario Apparition was never intended to be this weird creepypasta thing, but simply just another addition to the whole “Every Copy of Mario 64 is Personalized” meme, which itself was just this big culmination of all the Mario 64 memeing on places like 4chan (which is where that whole thing started). Sure, it has essentially been ruined thanks to the Internet running with it and turning it into this creepypasta, but it wasn’t always like that.

The timing...its just...perfect. stuff like this happening in our lives that helps bring closure to things from your childhood that you never saw coming. That's what I'm thinking too; the plaque probably doesn't even say anything remotely close to what the fans think it does, but whoever had the files saw the rising popularity of the fan theories surrounding it and saw an opportunity to do the ultimate fan service.

Plus for some, there's also Fresh Supply which is a recreation of Blood in KEX engine. But still, having the original source would have been still a tremendous event for Blood community. Also, two people are known to still possess the source, so certainly it's not lost.
When your game has such a huge fan base over 24 years after its release, people are making and perfecting new speedruns every day in 2020, and hundreds of thousands of people are there to find out almost a quarter of a century later that the game's greatest legend is true as the prophecy indicates ... I think that "L is real" also was a clue to the fact this statue can be found in Death Mountain of OoT. L can also refer to "Link is real" and the fact that many Nintendo characters like Kirby, Mario, DK, and Link exist in a shared universe.

Well. Nobody knows exactly how are these scrapped worlds, so who knows! Fun fact: the eyes of bowser would have been blue since it was being decided the eyes colours

Unfortunately, besides what seems to be a couple test levels and MAYBE (probably not) some extremely early versions of some worlds (such as the funhouse), it appears that the scrapped worlds were cut very early on, seeing as how Mario 64 had hefty deadlines to meet. I agree it would still be cool to have a romhack that allows you to explore these areas though
