So while cars like the A8, 7-Series, LS and Jaguar XJ fight among themselves, the S-Class graduates the ranks of the Rolls Royce Ghost, Bentley Mulsanne and Continental Flying Spur, and this facelift puts the S farther ahead of its German rivals! Mercedes and AMG are really becoming the class leaders in luxury and sport, as it should be! Especially the next few years will be interesting.

The Three star pinnacle is truely a Klasse act. This is a car to be driven in, trust me you gonna fall asleep. We use these in livery and they are gems. With the Biturbo it is amazing to sport and luxury is at its finest. Any car enthusiast knows it. It is an experience of a lifetime. ❤️

Unfortunately, they abandoned the grey interior for the S class. It is a pity, it looked great with designo interior elements (and some of them are unavailable, too)... Regards

I know this is a technically fantastic car and all but there's something lacking. It looks boring. It's just not very exiting now is it.

Both look pretty good. I like the Facelift in the sense that it looks a bit athletic, but the pre-facelift looked elegant.

Would take the newly redesigned Audi A8 over this! So much better interior and tech too.
dcharizard91 The A8 interior looks bland and cold. It's so clinical. The S looks like proper luxury. And what better tech does the A8 have? It doesn't. The A8 only now has some of the stuff the S had 4 years ago on the pre facelift model.

I can agree, but i think it's something that would eventually grow on you and when you see the old one, it would look old compared to the new one.
Always below the reliability index on car warranty providers just as BMW and AUDI so unless your an MD of a company who normally leases those cars on a 1 year lease which is a tax write off and then gets another, I suggest forget it. The more electronics they have put in these cars the worse they became and when they need fixing, it often means a day or two in garage and that costs serious money. Once the standard warranty runs out watch as hundreds of these car like the others hit the for sale sites. They are and always have been money pits for badge whores. Get a Lexus or Honda or Volkswagen Phaeton for superb engineering, ride and reliability.

azalru Lol. No. You're deluded. You are everywhere with your Tesla shit. They make terrible cars and others have better more refined autonomous driving software but they restrict it more. You'll even see the press video where they won't even show a driver with no hands in the wheel because it is not legal to do so. Tesla on the other hand sells in far less countries than these manufacturers and are reckless with their software which is why all those autopilot accidents with Tesla and not the other manufacturers. Cautious versus reckless. I much rather trust proper car manufacturers like Mercedes, Audi and BMW and even Ford and VW.
Well the Model S sells more than the S class and the 7 series combined, so it seems you're in the minority.
The S Class is the one Mercedes that I'd buy over the BMW comparable model. However the steering wheel of the new S class looks awful.

Ironically, there is only one BMW I'd buy over the comparable Mercedes, and that's the 435i over the C-Coupe. Everything else BMW makes just bores me and would be a downgrade.

If I could hold one thing against MB S-Class it would be that it's got quite chunky looking. Not so slick looking exterior wise. Somewhat obese perhaps?

I would prefer a Jaguar XJ, it's a far nicer looking car, and a lot more exclusive than the mass produced German cars. Also the wood in that car was disgusting looking.

whenmancool - The Jaguar wins hands down on exterior styling, and the Jaguars interior is much less "Bling" than the Merc, so again I much prefer the Jaguars interior. Jaguar always set out to make their luxury saloons to be more on the sporty side with great driver feedback, which is my preference, you may like the "comfy" Merc, but I like Jaguar set up.
